Highly recommend HQ Remodel & Design. We hired them for a backyard remodel while we were living across the country, managing the entire project remotely. Partway through, we realized we also needed a good chunk of interior work done before we could move in -- and Rapha and his team saved us and got the whole thing done in time, so our cross-country move didn't slip a single day. Doing all of this remote was nerve-wracking. Rapha kept us completely in the loop, sent updates, and never once made us chase him down. Trusting a contractor with your house sight-unseen from 3,000 miles away is a lot to ask, and he made it feel easy. The backyard came out incredible -- pavers and a beautiful new outdoor kitchen that completely transformed the space. Inside, they redid our first floor with new flooring, cabinets, quartz counters, and fresh paint. Everything is clean, modern, and exactly the look we wanted. If you're around OC and want a team that actually shows up, communicates, and does great work -- Rapha is your guy. read more

This review is long overdue. We can't thank Ralpha and Carlos enough for transforming our once bare, plain backyard into a beautiful oasis. Carlos's craftsmanship is truly exceptional--the results speak for themselves. Every detail was approached with care and precision, and it shows in the final outcome. Friends and family continue to compliment our backyard, and we couldn't be happier. We're so grateful to HQ Remodeling for bringing our vision to life. read more

Super thankful for finding HQ remodeling but especially Rapha and Carlos. They helped us from design stage to incredible craftsmanship and cleaned everything up. Professional at every step and over delivered. The pavers, charcoal boarder, drainage, drip systems and so so many small touches in the brick work is amazing. Strongly recommend. read more

I'm updating my original review after the owner, Roy, personally reached out to me to clear up a misunderstanding. Initially, I was frustrated because my project was declined based on a minimum price requirement without a site visit, which felt dismissive and not reflective of the actual scope of work. That experience led me to leave critical feedback. To Roy's credit, he took the time to call me directly, listen to my concerns, and explain the situation in a respectful and professional way. I truly value business owners who are willing to have those conversations, take feedback seriously, and protect the reputation of their company rather than ignore concerns. While the initial interaction could have been handled better, Roy's follow-up showed accountability and leadership, which says a lot. Because of that, I will be giving them another opportunity in the future with one of my other properties. That kind of response matters, and it's the reason I felt it was important to update this review. read more

After interviewing four other companies, I went with HQ Remodeling for my kitchen remodel and I'm so glad I did. What set them apart right from the start was their approach. knowledgeable, confident, and genuinely invested. They even took me to see similar projects they were working on in my area, which honestly sold me. They were the most expensive of the five, but their estimate was clear, detailed, and transparent. The project took about two months. The crew kept things clean and organized the whole time, which I really appreciated. But the thing that stood out the most was the communication. Whenever something came up, it got handled quickly and without drama. Big shoutout to Camilla in customer service, Eric the foreman who kept everything running smoothly on site, and Rapha the project manager who tied it all together. The end result is awesome and my kitchen looks better than I imagined. If you're on the fence about these guys, don't be. Highly recommend! read more

HQ just finished a major project for us. We worked with Tali to have the house painted, wood repaired, property line established and wall built. We widened our driveway and had artificial turf installed. My husband and I are thrilled with how everything turned out. Tali's and the team's communication throughout the whole process was wonderful and when there were hiccups, they got resolved right away. Many of our neighbors are commenting on how nice everything looks. It's such a joy to turn onto our street and see our house. With the way everything turned out, it feels like we have a brand new home. Thank you, HQ! read more

We just had our kitchen remodel completed and couldn't be happier. Gave our place a wonderful uplift. The entire team was wonderful to work with. The communication was open and regular as they made sure they advised and consulted with us to help realize the vision of what we were looking for. The remodel involved new countertops, new kitchen sink and restoration of kitchen sink cabinets. I would highly recommend if you are looking for any remodeling of your home/work place. read more

We had such a wonderful experience working with Dan from HQ on our backyard remodel. It was a large area and he was able to provide the digital renderings prior to starting and was so attentive through every phase. We wanted a safe place for our girls to play and host large parties. A few weeks after completion we held our daughter's 2nd birthday with 86 people and there was still space to move around. We will definitely be referring them to friends and family and using them for our next project! read more

I reached out to HQ Remodeling and Design through Yelp with a well-defined scope of work: a minor garage remodel, exterior paint, and front door replacement. Camila, the coordinator, was fantastic--she responded quickly, scheduled a free onsite consultation, and maintained proactive communication throughout the process. On the day of the consultation, Camila informed me 30 minutes before our scheduled time that the estimator (let's call him John) would be 45 minutes late. While inconvenient, I appreciated the heads-up and adjusted my schedule. However, the consultation itself was a different experience. From the start, John's approach felt more aggressive than professional. He questioned why my family member who answered the door was unaware of his visit and interrupted my explanation of the project multiple times. Rather than focusing on my outlined scope, he immediately began upselling high-end services, including premium epoxy floors and full garage conversions, despite my clear preference for a budget-conscious approach. When I reiterated my priorities, he continued pushing additional services, such as landscaping and patio upgrades, while making dismissive remarks about other contractors, such as questioning their licensing status and their quality of work if they were to give a lower estimate. What was most disappointing, however, was the final interaction. After an extensive conversation, during which he called my garage a "mess", emphasizing a more extensive remodel now would be a great opportunity to clean it all up, I was informed that to receive a detailed estimate, I would need to call the office, as they prefer to issue estimates only for projects they deem worthwhile. The estimator then suggested he would need to speak with my husband, despite the fact that I was the primary decision-maker. After the consultation, I provided Camila with candid feedback about my experience. She was professional and apologetic, even offering to send a more experienced estimator for a second chance. However, later that day, the company's Production Line Manager called to clarify that my project was below their minimum project cost and suggested I look for a handyman instead. While I respect businesses setting their own project thresholds, it would have been far more professional and considerate to communicate that policy upfront--saving both time and effort for all involved. In summary, while Camila was excellent in customer service, my experience with the estimator left much to be desired. If your project aligns with their high-end remodel pricing, you may have a better experience. However, if you're looking for a smaller-scale renovation, clear expectations around budget and scope should be established early to avoid unnecessary consultations. read more

After shopping around for the right company to do my backyard hardscape and irrigation, I was so glad to come upon HQ Remodeling and Design. They are prompt communicators and the project manager assigned to my project (Ben) immediately set me at ease. He and I agreed to txt communication early on, which I prefer, and it made the work and decision-making progress quickly and smoothly. We agreed quickly on design decisions. In fact the thing that took the longest was my HOA, but the day the approval came through, we scheduled the work. HQ was very accommodating and understanding of the long HOA process! I'm really happy with the end result of my small backyard space, maximizing the limited space but with plenty of modern design interest! read more

I had a great experience with HQ and their team. We remodeled our entire house and hq made it easier than i expected. The project included an addition to our master bedroom, a new kitchen and two baths. We found the company through our neighbors and we started we a design and engineering plans. It took about three weeks to finalize the layout and design. To make long story short the project was completed on time and with just a few change orders (we decided to upgrade the electrical and plumbing for the whole house). If you have a project that requires a serious company i recommend to contact hq about it. read more

I cannot recommend HQ Remodeling enough! They completely redid my back and front yards. We had plans for my daughter's wedding reception and so of course it had to be done on time, on budget, and be PERFECT and OMG it turned out amazing! The guests raved about how beautiful and amazing the yards are. I have a very busy job so couldn't be there everyday to oversee things which is one of the reasons I hired HQ. They were so great to work with. Tali, Martin and their amazing crew were on time and so detail oriented, and had great suggestions when I invariably had some design indecision on my part. We had used HQ Remodeling last year for a backyard redo and had a great experience, so we called them again when we needed to upgrade our garage. We worked again with Tali, who is very straightforward and professional, and best of all is a great communicator, replying to every call and text quickly. With foreman Israel (also great to work with), they quickly took away our old makeshift shelving, added drywall, replaced our old hot water heater, solved a few problems with our laundry set up, and added some strong and surprisingly good-looking shelves. Camila called occasionally to make sure we were happy with the way things were going. Everything is very well done, and built to last. Should anything go wrong, we have experience from the last job they did for us they will come by promptly to correct it. read more

HQ remodeling and designs worked wonders on our backyard. Tali and Lisa were professional and precise in their approach to giving us an estimate. They were prompt in returning several calls when we had questions and worked with us when we wanted to make changes to the plan. They remodeled the grounds/pavers and landscaping to perfection. I was very impressed, again, with the quality of work and the politeness of the workers. 5 star recommend! read more

The story starts with a front and backyard overgrown with weeds 4-6ft tall. An eyesore to both myself and my neighbors. An unusable space to sit out and enjoy, run around or even entertain guests. After many contractor consultations and walkthroughs I settled with HQ. HQ was the first of the contractors to look at and speak to me like a human being as opposed to a cow utter. I was paired up with one of their PMs, Dan and we instantly clicked like veteran buddies. He took the time to work through my vision, draw up 3D designs and ensure me that it was within my grasp all along the way. Dan was my first point of contact with HQ and the reason I decided to sign a contract. There was no pressure, assurances when needed and affirmation that they could do the job, Rapha, another one of the PMs frequented the job site. He asked questions, listened to my concerns and made sure they were resolved within a day or less. Rapha was very sincere, took the time to chat about the job and even Marvel Movies. He was the second point of contact at HQ that validated my decision to contract with them in the first place. The team - the team Forman Lupe was great. He took heard my concerns and immediately took action where needed. I'll admit there weren't many concerns. He and his crew worked tirelessly throughout the hottest days of summer demolishing, installing, and fine tuning their work. Amazing teams overall. The team removed all of the weeds, tore up random concrete patios, leveled the earth, installed weed barriers, a drainage system, sprinkler system, rocks, pebbles, pavers and grass. They even built a new pergola for me. End of story (Result) Renovating the front and back yard (roughly 300 sq ft) took about a month. Would have been faster had I as the client not held up the team with change orders and direction. But in the end I now have a yard I can be proud of. Many neighbors and passerby's have even stopped to look, compliment and ask what plant is this or who did you work with? I gladly refer HQ. (Plants provided by MoonValley Nursery in which HQ granted a $2000 credit). I have hosted parties in my new yard and enjoyed every afternoon outside since. When I'm working from home I even find myself watching birds play where they never have before, squirrels run around and listen to the trees v the weeds in the wind. Fast forward a month later. The owner of the company was in town and left a gift basket on my door step, our business had been completed long by then. But again, HQ didn't treat me like a business transaction. They treated me like a person with goals and a vision they brought to life. Thanks HQ. I'll continue to refer every chance I get. My only regret is not having more work for you at this time. read more

HQ redid our driveway and walkway in pavers. Tali was great to work with as was their crew. The job was done on time and on budget and the work was done pretty well. The only negative I'd note is that at the end of the job the dwindling crew got "end-of-job-I-tis" . They didn't clean up the way I would have expected and got pretty lax with the details. I had to spend a few hours fixing things they'd missed. I'm sure they would have come back out had I complained but we were eager to move on to the next phase of the project. All that said I'd give them a 4.9 instead of 5. read more

This company destroyed my sprinklers and damaged my sidewalk, costing me over $500 to remediate. They promised to pay me for it, as they should have. I posted a negative review on Yelp, which was primarily due to their leaving their excess materials and other trash on my property and never coming to haul it away, which to me means they never finished the job. So after they saw that post -- which I modified at their request to make it sound not so bad -- nevertheless that they refused to pay me the $550 they owed me for the damage. Nice huh? Quality of the driveway pavers work was fine, but their business practices are shabby, and I'd never trust them. read more

HQ Remodeling turned out abysmal backyard into a place of beauty, function and respite. From the initial meeting to discuss our needs, wants and wishes to the final walkthrough; HQ Remodeling was polished, attentive and professional. My wife and I needed to refurbish our backyard, pour a concrete slab and upgrade our electrical panel for a medically necessary Hot tub. We "thought we knew what we wanted... But after talking with Emma ( #1, A++, ROCKSTAR Project Manager) we were proven wrong. Emma took detailed notes and measurements, then had an amazing 3D rendering of what our backyard could be... If we trusted the process. I ( WE ) are so very glad to have put our trust in Emma and her team. We have the backyard of our dreams, saving money on water and maintenance. HQ has been absolutely transparent through the whole construction project. Rapha ( project coordinator) was kinda, informative and walked us through each step only collecting payments as agreed milestones were met and mutually agreed to our( their) standards. Emma's team ( Alejandro, José and Miguel) went above and beyond to complete our project on time, on budget, and with precision and attention to detail. We are so very pleased and cannot say enough about the professionalism, adherence to quality and ease of service (demo to completion) that HQ Remodeling brings to their clients. All of our future construction will be HQ Remodeling projects. I am happy to call Emma and her team not just outstanding professionals, but friends.
