HQ just wrapped up our backyard paver and retaining wall project, and the craftsmanship is next level. Tali was great at helping us coordinate the project, and Mel and his installation crew are true masonry artists. We asked for a complex, multi-tiered built-in bench to be integrated into our retaining wall, and they nailed the exact child-safe, flush-front design we wanted. They also laid down a massive patio area with a custom floating diamond paver inlay that looks stunning. The crew worked hard, accommodated our specific design tweaks, and delivered a beautiful backyard where our kids can safely play. Highly recommend!! read more

This is the third time we have used HQ Remodeling for a home improvement project. For our current project, they turned my adult kids' room into an at-home office space, re-roofed our house, installed a new electrical panel and car charger, and liaised with a solar company to install solar panels. All work was done quickly and professionally, with Tali, our project manager, constantly in communication to help us solve any issues immediately. We are absolutely loving all of the home improvements they've done for us over the last few years, and we would absolutely use them again. read more

I had the pleasure of working with Raphael at HQ Remodeling for our front yard upgrade project. What really made us go with them is the reviews from from Yelp and also the updated designs on their social media. From the beginning of our first meeting, Raphael and his team were on time and very attentive and responsive. They were able to look at our existing front yard landscape and come out with a design that fully met our needs. Raphael was very communicative during the whole project and stuck to the timeline very accurately and even worked on weekends. Raphael did a great job adjusting to some of the changes that we wanted and was able to accommodate us. The overall project came out great and we are very happy with their team. read more

After receiving and reviewing six different quotes for our backyard remodel, we chose to move forward with HQ Remodeling. The decision was an easy one, largely due to our project manager, Dan. He was exceptionally hands-on, clearly explaining the process, including how they would raise the rebar to prevent future cracking in the concrete. We also added lighting, which turned out beautifully. Dan ensured the final product matched our vision. In addition to Dan's diligent and consistent follow-up, the crew--Juan-Carlos and Pedro--were professional and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the final results. We highly recommend HQ Remodeling and encourage anyone considering a backyard project to give Dan a call. read more

Eli and Danilo managed the project, and the execution was very smooth. They kept everything organized, and the communication was consistent throughout. Another thing we appreciated was how clean they kept the work area. They made a real effort to contain the mess and protect the rest of the house, which made a big difference during construction. The finished bathroom looks modern, clean, and well put together. The materials, layout, and details all came together exactly how we envisioned. Overall, HQ Remodeling & Design delivered a very professional experience from planning to execution. The pricing was fair for the level of detail and service provided, and the end result speaks for itself. We would definitely recommend them for anyone considering a bathroom remodel. read more

It was a pleasure working with Tali and the team from HQ. From initial estimates and design to finishing the project, Tali was always available (even weekends) and helped us tackle any issues that arose. A big shoutout to Mel and his crew for the work and putting in countless day to get the project done. We were referred by a close friend, and we're very glad we chose HQ. A couple words that come to mind: client-oriented, fair pricing, trustworthy, and personable. We did a small backyard remodel involving demoing concrete, installing new pavers and grass/turf. We would highly recommend this company and look forward to potentially working with HQ on future projects. read more

We did our backyard paving with Rapha and Alfredo. Rapha was continuously checking the progress and asking about the satisfaction of the job, tried to make the project goes as we wanted. Alfredo and his team did a great job from the prepping to the last detail touch ups and clean up. He gave me several tips for my backyard project as well. If you are thinking about doing backyard paving, they are the one you want to to with. Paving looks dirty on the photo, but that was my mess digging trenches after they finished the job. read more

I hired HQ after meeting several contractors for my backyard remodeling. HQ gave me a fair price and even showed me several projects they did in the area. Eli suggested to start with a 3D design which was very helpful before and during the project. The work took about 3 month, the communication and attention to details was more than I expected. I love the end result and I will definitely use HQ for future projects read more

The end result of our garage conversion looks good and most people walking through the space are impressed. That said, the experience getting there was more challenging than expected I'm writing this in the hopes that it helps future homeowners know what to expect and how to set themselves up for success. We hired HQ for a full garage conversion (~$100K project). I'll start with the positive -- Tali, our main point of contact, was consistently responsive and communicative. She was quick to reply (often within an hour, even on weekends), and when I raised concerns, she listened and expressed a willingness to help resolve them. That level of responsiveness made a big difference over the course of an 8-month project. That said, there were a few recurring issues: 1. Care for the existing space - There were multiple moments where it felt like our home wasn't being treated with the level of care we expected. Job site cleanup was inconsistent, items were moved or damaged, our refrigerator was unplugged at one point (we had to throw away food), and diluted paint was dumped onto landscaping. None of these were individually catastrophic, but together they created a level of stress and frustration. My tip is to be very explicit upfront about expectations for site cleanliness and protection of existing areas. 2. Project management expectations - I found myself much more involved in day-to-day management than I anticipated -- maintaining the running checklist, confirming scope with subcontractors, and double-checking that work was actually completed. Sometimes it was time-consuming and other times it felt really awkward. That wasn't something I expected to need to do at this price point. My tip is to plan to be hands-on and organized. Keep detailed notes and don't assume alignment between the contractor and subs. 3. Quality and follow-through - There were several instances where work felt rushed or not fully thought through (uneven step transitions, uneven walls, items not sitting flush, etc.). What was most challenging was that the initial response from the foreman was often that something "couldn't be done" or "that's just how it is," rather than taking time to troubleshoot. In most cases, things improved -- but only after I pushed. My tip would be advocate for what you want and expect. Don't be afraid to ask for adjustments or second passes on work. I do want to call out that a couple of subcontractors (notably plumbing and the shower door installer) were excellent -- proactive, communicative, and clearly invested in getting things right before leaving. They both hit snags but their level of ownership really stood out and I wish it had been more consistent across the project. The bottom line is that HQ may be a fit depending on what you're looking for - it does seem like ADUs is not their primary focus. If you're comfortable being very involved and managing details closely, you can get to a good end result. If you're expecting a more turnkey experience with consistent attention to detail throughout, that was not our experience. I shared feedback along the way and was hopeful the final stretch would shift things. While there were improvements, the core challenges remained. Overall: responsive team, but execution and project management did not consistently match the level I expected for a project of this price and scope. Update: After posting this review, the owner reached out directly and was open to feedback. I appreciate that he took the time to learn more and reflect on the experience. While my experience during the project remains as described above, I do want to acknowledge the professionalism in how this was handled afterward. read more

I have just completed a pool and yard remodel and am happy with the experience. Tali was our contact both as we worked on the design and work on the project. She was tireless in making sure things were going as planned. She answered every question or concern at once with knowledge and good humor. She often came to check on the work and resolve any issues during construction. The result was a beautiful renovation and a very easy pleasent experience that came in at exactly the bid amount. Both Tali, Martin and his work crew and Felix who worked with the office, contributed to making sure that what was promised at the beginning became a reality . I have done several renovations over the years and this one was one of the easiest as all the people working on the project cared that it would be exactly what I wanted and of a high quality. read more

I was looking for a good person to fix up our kitchen and bathroom. I talked to about 5 or 6 different contractors, and I picked Eli from HQ. I really can't say enough good things about his company. It was the first time I worked with someone who truly cared about the job, not just making money. He made this whole renovation much easier than I thought it would be, and he gave me fair prices when we made changes. The final look is exactly what I wanted, and he paid great attention to small details. Our kitchen looks clean and new, and the bathroom feels so much nicer now. I found HQ Remodeling & Design by using Yelp to help me with my ADU project. I had no idea what steps had to be taken for my idea to become a reality, and then we met Tali. From the start she was straight forward and brought a builder into our home to come up with some other ideas. We really liked the direction they were going with my original idea and decided to hire them for our architect and engineering design. Ayman was amazing! He took what ideas the builder had and made it work in our space even better than we originally came up with. They were really responsive and quick. Even though we didn't complete the project with HQ we enjoyed the services they did provide to us. Thanks again Tali and Ayman! read more

I found HQ Remodeling on yelp to get a quote to do an addition to my house. I worked with Tali the whole time from getting architectural plans to 3d design, she was fantastic. We got all the way to getting city plans approved before we decided not to move forward but Tali was on top of it and always responding to my text super promptly, even very late at night! Great company. Was able to complete our paver project within 14 days. We extended and paved our driveway, entry way, and backyard patio. Tali made a promise and kept it. Met Michael for a consultation. Prompt, lots of great information, honest and really awesome. Highly recommended.

What I wrote earlier about these guys agreeing to pay for the damage they did to my sprinkler lines and my driveway -- forget it. Michael promised to pay for that damage, which he is legally obligated to do -- and despite promising me that the check was in the mail, it never came. Total lie. The truth is, as he admitted, was that once they saw my less-than-positive review of their business practices in my initial review here on Yelp -- which frankly I had changed at HIS request to make it sound not as bad as I initially wrote -- they decided to retaliate by withholding the check for the damage they caused to my property. Nice, huh? You don't like the Yelp review you get, so you withhold money you owe the customer. I would never recommend anyone use these guys again. Not honest. read more
