A def no-go. Horrible. I've received a number of offers to eat here and I'll never go back again. Besides the quality of food and service, the place is an eyesore, a nuisance and blight on thocal neighborhood a and lake. First TIP - Make a reservation! Seriously, it will save you two hours. I did and I still waited for 20 minutes. The view is amazing. The food and the service need help. Our server was also bar tending with two other people. Two of the four at our table did not get offered / receive a second drink. I had Blue Ridge Trout. Skin was still on the trout and it was smothered in what seemed like mushroom gravy (think Campbell). If there was supposed to be any lobster - there was not. My husband had the Almond Crusted Chicken and he admitted he would not have it again. My dad had the baby back ribs - and he would not have it again. It was VERY loud - at a table of four - you had to almost yell across the table to talk to someone. Possibly very expensive for no reason. Perhaps they had a bad night. read more

Beautiful view. But out of our 5 times here, service has just been ok. The younger staff at the boat cabana is awesome. However, the older lady w blonde hair w the sour puss face & bad attitude waitress at the Lighthouse should be fired! She told us "no, you can't make substitutions" to all 10 of us for minor changes (can I get that grilled instead of fried?). She had a BAD attitude & was down right RUDE! What restaurant says "no"??? Successful businesses say "sure let me check with the cook to see what we can do!" Menu needs revamped to lighter options and wait staff needs better training. Horrible does not even explain our experience with that mean waitress. BUT again the younger staff is great and the view is amazing. read more

1PM late lunch on a Sunday, not crowded at all, seated immediately. Young, yet very courteous wait staff. Basically ran through a tasting menu of all the recommended choices. The Maryland Crab Pretzel is the signature appy, our server said they sell more of that than anything else. I can see why- very unique flavor, and a don't miss. We had the fried green tomatoes as well, with the jalapeno pimento cheese spread on the side just in case. No need, not spicy hot at all, but also not remarkable. Had the Doug Hollow burger, and one with grilled chicken- both fine. The mac and cheese side was as advertised, very tasty. Almond crusted chicken rounded out the meal for our table. Nice views of the lake from all sides, I'd recommend the experience here, if you find yourself at Lake Keowee. read more

He bumped him, So we wait even longer....Along with other patrons. No apology or explanation from staff...just deer in headlights looks. Slow slow service on top of it. Didn't express displeasure cause I wanted to eat and leave. I'll be scheduling work lunch meetings and taking my family elsewhere.!!! read more

We heard of the Lighthouse through a business associate and gave it a try. The place is brand new and looks extremely good. There is a four sided fireplace in the center (not in use in July, thank goodness) and all of the tables have a window view of Lake Keowee. The food and service was excellent! We had the Chesapeake Crab Bisque, side salads, Ginger-Teriyaki Salmon, the Lighthouse Pasta and finished with the Creme Brulee. That was really too much but we wanted to try everything. This is a favorite place to go when visiting my parents on Lake Keowee, as it affords a beautiful view of the lake from the right tables, and it's even accessible from the lake. There a couple of docks where you can keep your boat or jetski while you dine. Food is very good, some meals better than others. I'm a big fan of the stuffed flounder, and as side dishes go, the havarti mac & cheese and the fried ochra are both excellent. I can't recall ever having a bad experience with wait staff here, but the last time I went I tried to make reservations for the second floor. The gal on the phone simply said it wasn't open, but didn't mention *when* it was open, which would have been nice to know. The view is allegedly best from the second floor and I had company in town. The view was kind of our priority that evening. I also got the feeling this woman wasn't really used to taking phone reservations, as she was awkward to talk to and didn't really prompt me to give her the information I needed. Not the most helpful. Still, a good experience over all. And again, you can't beat the proximity to the water. read more

Friendly wait staff; however, the food was not what we expected. Anything fried tasted the same and bland. 8 people in our party and I did not receive my meal until everyone else was finished. I've had a sailboat on the lake for years but just had not made it up to this restaurant yet. Tonight I ordered takeout which is always a tough thing to judge being that it will never be as good as fresh in the restaurant but wow what a good meal. I had the shrimp and crab etouffe pasta and it was amazing. Actually a good number of large shrimp with nice chunks of blue crab meat. Sauce was one of the best etouffe gravy's I've ever had, right amount of spice and great flavor. Really pleased, we will be getting to go on the boat often. read more

Well let me say this. We walked right past a hostess and a manager while walking in. The restaurant looked really nice. I enjoyed the scenery while there for 5 mins. That's why they got 2 stars. So apparently they are closed from 2-4. We sat inside waiting to be seated by a hostess but no hostess arrived. We were actually greeted by another family who told us they were closed. Like how rude is that. Then while we were talking about it outside the same hostess had he audacity to say she thought we've been seated and the door should have been locked....well it wasn't and that's a lie. So I don't think I'll be visiting this place again. read more

We love eating at the Lighthouse Restaurant! Good food, good service, beautiful location and excellent ambiance. They have a complete menu of various offerings from salads and appetizers to seafood, chicken and beef entrees well prepared and with delicious sides. The creamed corn is sweet enough and good enough for dessert. A decent wine list with a taste and price point for every palate along with a complete selection of mixed drinks and beers. Eating out on the patio in the evening is especially nice. read more

Good food. A little pricey but worth it! We ordered bbq quesadillas for our appetizer. They were really good! I ordered ribs with fries and red mashed potatoes and salad. All were good. My fiancée got the chicken waffles (I'm not into trying that so I didn't. But he said it was good). I was a little curious that every other table got a basket with cornbread and butter and we did not get it or were offered it. I guess they forgot to bring it to us. read more

The was hot and very good. My wife and I had the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese delicious. I have the fish and fires with blue cheese coleslaw. My wife had the stuff flounder with blue cheese coleslaw and collard greens. The food was hot and service was great. Had dinner here last night....and I must admit I was less than impressed. Way overpriced for super mediocre frozen food. Nothing tasted fresh at all... the view was okay I suppose. So if you're looking for a super expensive "Applebee's" on the lake you should check it out. Otherwise save your money and go to a cheap chain restaurant with better food. read more

This is my favorite restaurant!!!!! It is so very good and I have never had a bad meal here. Everything is delicious! The cabana has a great laid back atmosphere, and the lighthouse is a little more fancy, but not much! Great views of the lake and boat parking!! 10/10 Would recommend!!! read more

This restaurant is outstanding! The service was wonderful! We had Alyssa and she was terrific! We were pleased with everything we ordered! We had several appetizers: stuff mushroom was outstanding and the pretzel was very good too! My business partner had the ribeye- he loves it very good taste. I had the beef stroganoff and it was the best I ever had! It was absolutely delicious! My mother had the the stuff flounder and she loved it! The sides and salads were delicious as well! The desserts were tasty too! We will definitely be back! It is expensive but very well worth it! The quality is very good! I think it is a must try! read more

The Lighthouse is located on a spot with stellar views of Lake Keowee. The two times we have eaten here were postcard beautiful days. The food is good and the service we received was admirable. The signature burger I ordered this recent visit was excellent. Juicy, flavorful, cooked to my requested doneness and complimented with nicely grilled onions and Hvarti cheese, it was a burger I would order over and over. My side was the mac & cheese which was tasty but not noteworthy. My wife's salad with salmon was good but commonplace. The salmon was a bit over cooked. Our previous visit the food was middle of the road so I would give the Lighthouse 3.5 stars between the two times. If it were based on the view 5 stars but this is a restaurant after all. read more

The service to order our dinner was extremely slow. The expensive ranch bacon chicken entree that I ordered was worse than mediocre. The chicken was 2 small previously frozen & slightly grilled chicken tenders that had cold salsa dumped on top of them....NO ranch or bacon flavor what-so-ever. I complained and asked for a reduction in cost for my dish only. I was not given one! The chef & restaurant manager deserve a BIG thumbs down. Next time I will stay at home & cook a much tastier and less expensive meal than what I was served at the Lighthouse. read more

I've gone here twice for lunch. Beautiful view while eating a light meal and having great conversation. The food I've had is good. The fried ravioli appetizer was perfect. It has balsamic vinegar on it so it adds a "tang". If you don't like that it still tastes good without the vinegar drizzle. I had the shrimp Caesar salad on my first visit and the crab bisque soup. The soup was really good. The salad was just a salad. This time I had the Flounder sandwich and fried okra. It was just okay. The fish was fried a little too hard and the hoagie bun it comes on is really flaky so it was sort of a crummy mess. Had I been at a more formal lunch meeting I would have been a bit embarrassed by the amount of crumbs falling every where. The food is good, but go for the view and the service. Both times we had excellent service! read more
