We had a party of five with two children and a 7:00pm reservation. As we walked in I thought the place looked nice and well done. Decent ambiance on the lower floor. We had reservations for the roof which was a neat place with a great view. It was about 15 minutes before our order was taken. My wife stopped waiter and asked if we could order, otherwise we might still be there. The waitress seemed disinterested, but managed to accurately take our order. The kids meals arrived at the 50 minister mark, and by then they were restless and bored. The adult meals arrived one hour after we sat down. Food was not bad for bar food. My wife had a nice looking salad. I ordered fish and chips substituting a baked potato for the chips. The fish was good, although overcooked on the bottom, the potato looked as if it was hours old and was dry with little topping. I would say the ambiance was a three and a half. The food a 2, and the service was pushing a 1. If you have nice weather, the roof is worth trying. read more

Our server was kind, funny, and patient. My family and I ate on the roof during nice weather which was beautiful. The mushroom bacon Swiss burger was delicious. It had too much mayo, but I didn't request light mayo. The okra was good, but wasn't crispy like how I like mine. Yet again, I didn't ask them to make sure it was extra crispy. Food is good but they need more kitchen staff. Had a party of 19. Half of everyone's food came out and you would think the rest would have followed but it took another HOUR to get the rest of the food. Totally uncalled for. Great location right on the old town square in Pendleton. Was fairly crowded when we arrived on a Saturday night. The wait was around 40 minutes. Once seated, the service was very good. Attentive, but not intrusive. The vibe is somewhat standard grill with sports on some TVs. The menu has a good amount of options. We decided on a Chicken Fried Steak sandwich and the Sirloin Steak with green beans as a side. Overall, the quality of the food was good. The disappointing part was how salty everything was. Excellent service. Our waitress was prompt, attentive, polite and professional. No room for improvement there (we did not catch her name. But I say she was in her early 20s blonde hair worked upstairs where we sat). Steak: priced a little high for no more than what was served. Tasted like it had a packaged Montreal seasoning on it. Loaded potato: Delicious. Hamburger: Priced fairly. Delicious sweet bun and fried onions but burger was very thin. Didn't really taste it because it was thin and the flavor of the sweet bun although delicious, overtook the hamburger. Balcony - not a place to eat at in the early evening in May due to sun. But would be excellent later in the evening after 7 or 8 when the sun has gone behind the trees. Great view of the village green. The manager was very friendly. The bar drinks were good. I thought the cocktails were priced fairly. The liquor prices too high. Remember this is a sports bar with loud music. So don't go there on a date if you want to hear each other. The prices are not that of a sports bar as far as the steaks and drinks but priced more for a fine dining restaurant. read more

Service GREAT, they were a little busy but she kept our drinks, full, came back to check on us to make sure things were still okay. Went to this restaurant on the square in Pendleton for the first time-dinner with a friend. Atmosphere was like a sports bar/restaurant. Several TVs. Low and high top tables. It has two floors-steep stairs but there is an elevator. (I think it is a rooftop area Not sure what it looks like though,) Didn't go up there because it was reserved for a large group. We went at 6:00 pm on a Tuesday - a little noisy, but we were able to carry on a conversation. The server said it gets noisier as the night goes on. We were seated right away. I chose the 14 ounce ribeye with a side of mashed potatoes and fried okra. It was good. My friend had the cheeseburger bacon burger with a side of fried okra. She said the burger was delicious. I guess we were both hungry because I forgot to take pictures of the food! The only wait time we ran into was getting our check and to-go boxes at the end of the meal. The server was very nice and the food was good. I'll take the hubby next time so he can give it a try. AND hopefully I'll remember to take pictures of the food. read more

Food was awful. Sandwich was burnt, baked potato was dried out and tough. Wings were soggy and bland. Bottled alcohol was old. I asked for limes with my drink and they gave me two small dried out end pieces, I barely got a drop out of them. Tacked on so many service fees to our tab that an $18 tab turned into $29. What a great treat on a gray Saturday afternoon. We ate at the bar in Raines on Exchange in Pendleton, SC. Had a great view of the village green. The service was great as was the food! The atmosphere was friendly; the restaurant was very clean with a good, navigable layout. When our bill came I thought they had made a mistake. I thought maybe they forgot to add a drink. But, no. So, not only is the food very tasty and well prepared, but it would be difficult to find that same quality at those great prices. read more

My husband, my father-in-law and I were in town visiting our son at Clemson. We were looking for a fun sports bar to have dinner and watch the football game. We found this cool place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The interior is fun and modern and it is situated in an adorable downtown right on the square. The prices were very reasonable and the food was delicious! We loved the wings, sweet fries, fried pickles, grilled mahi-mahi. Our server was wonderful and we were hoping the food would be also. Sad to say the food was a big disappointment. My salmon was so over seasoned that I found it impossible to eat. Such a shame because it looked like a wonderful piece. I also had sweet fries (that's how it's listed on their menu) and I bet if they were actually hot they would have been great (what few there were). They were not great because they were cold & nasty. The salmon dinner was a piece of overcooked salmon- plain - looking like it had come from a frozen package from Sam's Club- with a side dish of overdone broccoli in a soy like sauce. That was all- price was something like $17.99. Presentation was nothing more than the above. Didn't come with a potato or rice of some sort, a sauce, anything. Bland, bla. Really? My friend's salmon salad was this dry overcooked fish on what seemed like just a box of spring mix greens dumped on the plate. Maybe the burgers are better. We were happy to learn a mid-priced restaurant was coming to Pendleton. Several friends went to this place soon after it opened and said it was disappointing. We decided to wait a few months, thinking they'd work out the kinks. They haven't. The service and atmosphere were fine, but the food was no better than you might get at a decent fast-food place. Burgers make up a large part of the menu, but friends told us the burgers were not very good. So my wife ordered popcorn shrimp and I ordered fish and chips. Some of the popcorn were empty of shrimp - just fried batter. My fish and chips were greasy and undercooked. Next time we'll take the money and go for a great, authentic NY pizza next door at Brooklyn Pizza. We won't be disappointed. read more
