We stopped by Loose Change in Clemson and ordered burgers, a veggie wrap, a club sandwich and hush puppies. The food hit the spot--solid pub grub done right. The homemade potato chips were a standout (huge bonus points for that!). The place has that perfect college-town charm: laid-back, funky, and welcoming. The bartender and staff were super friendly, and the whole vibe made it feel like the kind of local spot you'd want to become a regular at. Dan is definitely a cool dude! We stopped in for lunch The food was very good and reasonably priced. Everyone was very nice. I don't know that the atmosphere is appropriate for families even during lunch. I had to dodge a few questions about the decor hanging from the ceiling and in the bathroom. Having said that, I'd go again. It was delish. read more

Get the zucchini fries they are amazing! Can't wait to eat them again! We got them as an appetizer and I got the bird dog which was soo much food and delicious, I tried the jalapeño tater tots as my side and they were good not overly spicy. Would like to try regular fries next time. My husband got a burger and it was amazing! Puts 5 guys to shame. Dripping deliciousness. For an appetizer, one drink and two meals it was almost $40. We stopped by Loose Change late on Saturday night and as you can imagine in a college town, the bar was FULL of college kids. We were easily the oldest people in there so we stuck out like sore thumbs. A bar like this was definitely my vibe 10-12 years ago but wow, how fast time goes by! The walls are full of dollar bills which I couldn't quite figure out so I'm curious about the story behind that. From what I remember, the drinks were cheap but I cannot speak to the food. I saw someone mention spicy ranch which is right up my alley so we'll have to go earlier and try the food next time. I would say Loose Change is a great college bar but maybe hit it earlier to avoid the younger crowd. read more

There were at most 6 tables at 7:00 pm on Saturday night. It took 30 minutes to receive 2 burgers. The fries were cold ( not luke warm-actually cold). They automatically charge .75 for using a card before asking if paying cash. Sneaky charges for sauce -just ask if I want to pay for sauce? Manager asked another table about their meal, but passed by us. $4 for a can of beer. $10 for double burger. Extra $1 for cheese. Another $3.75 for a side. Not a cheap dinner. read more

Went here for an early dinner. Wasnt that busy but filled up quickly. Had the special which was bbq pulled pork quesadilla and wow, it was amazing! Expected just bar food, but was so much better. Small staff but handled the busy tables well. read more

This is an unsafe business during the reopening, no staff wearing masks. People milling about the bar. Wandering around the dining area's. This place is as advertised. It is a dive, and I love a good dive joint. I could spend some time here. The service is fast and pleasant. The food is off the chain. This place checks all the boxes for dive bar atmosphere with excellent food! The bacon cheeseburger was one of the best I've had in a long time. The beef seemed to be fresh - not frozen - and was so well seasoned it didn't need anything other than the lettuce tomato & onion that came on it, not even mayo, ketchup or mustard, it was perfect "as is". The pub chips dipped in ranch made the perfect side. My wife got the chicken quesadilla which was also excellent. The draft beer selections were great too, all craft beers. They also have domestic cans & bottles for those of you who still haven't figured out what good beer is . They have good classic rock playing but not so loud that you can't have a nice conversation. Great college town atmosphere food and drink dive! In the heart of downtown. Decorated in dollar bills taped to the walls with customers names written on them. You seat yourself. Service was friendly and prompt. Menu has mostly appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and tacos. We had the Shrimp Po-Boy with fries, a burger with fries, and a chicken burrito with chips and salsa. The po-boy was excellent with a spicy cajun sauce drizzled on top, the burger was actually THREE burgers, the burrito was fresh and good quality meat, and the fries were seasoned moderately spicy. Service was great at 1:30pm on a Thursday. I can see how this place could get crowded easily and service or available tables be less than ideal. read more

Pregame drinks were flowing as two friends and I travelled the three and a half hours to catch the Tigers of Clemson taking on the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest. (The review is overdue by a few years) Simply put, Loose Change represents exactly the college experience I never had, and can easily admit, the one I had wished I had. Campuses and the surrounding bars in NYC do not seem to enjoy the same ease and care free enjoyment. A fun young crowd ranging from students to townies, all sporting the proud Clemson Orange. Tap beers went their way down the hatch, shots to follow approximately every fourth Bud Light served up by super cool bartenders. I'm my second life, I know where I'm going to college. read more

Ok so we are here for a campus tour with my son. And I get the bright idea to ask the tour guide - a college kid - for food advice. Great idea right? Well, this kid was SPOT ON! Loose Change was awesome. Ambiance is great. Menu alerts you that they are Clemson's only "5 star dive". I can attest. They are 5 star. Service was very good. Drinks kept full. Friendly. The burger was top 10. I got a double but they go all the way up to the "quad" 4 patties - 1lb. I got cheddar and bacon. The bacon was the thick cut stuff. A1. My son got the buffalo chicken wrap. He loved it. We also got some sides to share - hand cut fries, hand cut chips and jalapeño cheddar hush puppies. We got spicy ranch dip with each. That dip was very good. The fries are also Top 10. The chips were served cold so that was a disappointment. We were hoping they were warm. However, all in all 5 stars. We will be back. read more

We went to loose at the senior bar crawl and we tried to get drinks from the bartender Maggie and she refused to serve us. She kept taking drink orders from guys over our heads and proceeded to take shots with them. We waited for 20 minutes until we moved to one of the other bartenders to be served. There we're two girls next to us that asked if they could order and she blatantly said "no" to their face. It was rude. Will not be returning. read more

Ordered a burger and fries around lunchtime on a Thursday afternoon. A quarter of my fries were burnt crisps and the burger wasn't anything to brag about.
