The service is just horrible here. They just can't manage weekday summer evening traffic. The food is average but their free chips are usually just broken pieces and their salsa isn't anything special. There are so many other Mexican restaurants around Seneca, we'll never go back here. read more

We didn't realize this place had finally reopened, were just driving by and saw the sign and decided to give it another chance, and are glad we did! Immediately upon entrance we could tell there was improvements from the pervious management/ownership. We were greeted by a friendly host and just requested a seat at the bar. Our bartender was on the spot knowledgeable and friendly. She gave us a real menu (not like the stapled copy paper menus the establishment used before) to look at while she asked what we would like to drink. We ordered beverages and noticed the menu had oysters on the half shell on it (surprising for a Mexican restaurant) and decided to give them a try. The oysters were large, plump and fresh with a very good price point of $16.00 per dozen. I cannot think of any place in the Seneca area that has better or a better price. I would suggest spicing up the cocktail sauce though, it was basically just ketchup. Perhaps place extra horseradish on the side like many restaurants do. We ordered meals for takeout, both were fresh, decent portioned and hot. The only disappointment was mine was supposed to include cheese and there was none at all, clearly just an oversight; luckily I had Fontina cheese at home and was able to grate and use it on my meal. Other than that both were very good. Lastly the restaurant was very clean (albeit it just opened so one would expect that), everyone was friendly, they had American sports on the TVs, not movies in Spanish or soccer with Spanish speaking commentators, something most of their competitors do, and we both felt like welcome guests. If Papa Julio's maintains this level of service and professionalism, along with fixing the few minor things we had with the food, they will be a significant player in the Ram Cat Alley restaurant scene for a long time to come. read more

We ordered waters when we first arrived and she finally brought them after the meals were served. We ordered drinks and it took a long time. I ordered a beer and it came after the meals were served . love coming to eat here however this evening my friends and I went out on a game day Saturday night. I am a local and I go on weekdays as well when it's not busy. At least 3 visits prior we've order the same monster margarita and it was always $15 ish and for some reason we were charged $30 for the same exact drink tonight. When asked about the price they said that every other time I order it before was just "a mistake" this was highly upsetting as we come here all the time and this time were intentionally getting screwed. They charged us $30 for "open liquor" on the tab but it was a margarita, our friends margarita was $17.75 but ours was "open liquor" for $30. Never got an explanation other than it was wrong every time before. 0 effort for customer service this particular night. read more

Waiter was extremely attentive - maybe a little overboard at times, refilling our drinks when we barely had a sip taken out of them. Chips and salsa were good. Queso was bland. My daughter and I ordered the Mexican tacos. I had the steak and she had the chicken. Mine were good but not something I would run to get again. The garlic crema was excellent. Her chicken tacos were very disappointing. She kept pulling huge pieces of grizzle and tendons out of her mouth. Major turn off. Black beans were well cooked and seasoned. Overall the food was ok. let me start off by saying we called and made reservations a week in advance. then we called day of to confirm and add two people to the reservation. they had no clue what we were talking about when we brought up the reservation. then had the wrong number of ppl for the reservation. then, the chips were stale, salsa is watery and flavorless and so is the bean dip they give with it. the drinks are ok and look pretty and is prob the only think i would get again. the taco salad was ok, just average and nothing special. the steak was quite chewy in it. overall, i would not come again. it is nice that it looks modern on the inside and is a cute spot if they would improve their food. the waitress was very sweet tho! also, they had a country band BLASTING. which, i like live music but not BLASTING in my ear i was basically screaming at my friends next to me. plus, a country band at a mexican restaurant is quite strange to me but ‍ read more
