Cute little restaurant right on Lake Keowee. Great spot to stop by if you've been on the boat all day or if you just want a good restaurant with a lake view. They typically have great live music on certain days. Small menu but everything I have tried so far is always great. Staff is always very friendly. Highly recommend the hushpuppies as an appetizer! Tiki Hut was a fun environment. All outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the lake. We got the lake cheeseburger, chicken tender basket, grilled chicken sandwich, wings, hush puppies, and chips and queso. The entree items were more equivalent to concession stand items but not bad and the chips and queso was okay. The wings and hush puppies however were AMAZING! The hush puppies had crawfish and pimento cheese in it and oh boy was it delicious. The wings were breaded and fried great and the sauce was very good. The service was mixed. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were nice and engaging but when it came time for the check the bartender insisted she remembered who had what. Not only were the checks completely wrong but then she charged the wrong card to the wrong ticket. Overall it was a good experience there was live music and really chicken wings lol. I give it 3.5 stars because the food was just okay with the exception of the wings and hush puppies . With mixed service. read more

Thought I would give them another try, since they are under new owners. I was actually their first customer when they reopened earlier this year. First, there was an extremely strong smell of fuel, assuming a spill from the dock or their tractor. Menu is very limited...see image. No music Bees all around the bar area...see image 5 staff members sitting at the bar, just hanging out. Corona and Corona Light are on the menu, but out of both. Had the burger, which was ok...see image Manager came out a bit later and staff got to work, music came on, etc. Based on limited dock space for those that live on the lake, still prefer Cabana and Lighthouse...far superior and even have dock hands to help you dock. read more

I went to the Tiki Hut in Seneca, SC on Thursday 8/31/23 with friends. There was only one server (besides the two people behind the bar) for the entire place. No sections were closed off, so people were sitting all over the restaurant. The server forgot our drink order, we never received them. We waited an hour for our food and it was stone cold when we got it. We got tired of waiting for the server to bring us our check, so I went to the cashier at the bar to pay. She said that there were margaritas on our check and I had to explain we never got the drinks. I told her we waited for an hour and that our food was cold. She shrugged her shoulders and didn't offer to compensate any amount. I also suggested that since there was only one server that they either close a section or two, or help run the food out so it didn't get cold. She again just shrugged her shoulders. It's a shame that this is the service there because it is lakeside, and has a great view. The food might be good, I don't really know. I won't go back. read more

Very disappointing experience overall. The beautiful view could not make up for the terrible service. First off, there was a sign at the entrance that said wait for hostess to be seated.... So of course we stood at front table ... for 10 minuets in the sun ... until a waitress passing by finally said "it's seat yourself". Once we made it to our table we waited over 40 minutes just to receive our waters. As far as food goes-the pretzel bite appetizer was way over cooked and tasted like dry rubber (and the other app we ordered never arrived). The rest of the meal was just low quality and some of our order was not even correct. If you're looking to spend money on dinner just simply go someplace else. This place was overpriced for the quantity and quality of food, and had the worst service I think I've ever had. read more

We were spending a week vacationing on lake Keowee and was looking for a casual spot for dinner but also wanted something more than burgers and chicken wings. I was pleasantly surprised by the menu and the quality of the food. The atmosphere is just like the name implies- no frills, casual, It's five o'clock somewhere vibe. They have a couple Caribbean influenced items on the menu along with typical bar offerings. The service was "relaxed" but this didn't seem an issue sitting outside on beautiful Lake Keowee with music playing and steady breeze blowing. I ordered the fajitas which are served in a pineapple and husband got the salmon and rice. Both entrees were reasonably priced, presented well, and surprisingly fresh and good flavors in both. I would definitely go back and take some friends or the kiddos for the atmosphere and the food. read more

Went here last night and was so disappointed. As soon as we arrived the hostess immediately said she hoped it rained so she could leave early. Yikes. The coconut shrimp basket was awful. All the breading fell off the shrimp because it was drenched a sticky sauce. We didn't finish it because it was so poorly thought out. The cocktails should be actual tiki drinks instead of variations of grenadine, vodka and orange juice. I asked for a typical tiki drink (pain killer) and got a screwdriver instead. Just need to improve their menu. The ambiance was fine. Our waitress was fine, she comped our drink and even got us an umbrella when it rained. Just need to tell the kitchen to tighten up and work on the drink selection. Won't be returning or recommending. read more

Nice place out by the lake... It's a nice clean place with a lot of outdoor seating. Better than average lakeside bar... Food is on the better end of the bar food scale. Actually enjoyable rather than just hot and filling. Beer was perfectly fine too. On a nice summer's night this is a super place to visit, especially if you are coming by boat. read more

We live on the lake and the only way we would return to the Tiki Hut is if Gordon Ramsey trained them! We went for lunch today, 8/3/18, to give them a chance after they changed management, as our visit last September 2017 was horrendous. Terrible food and cocktails, in which the manager tasted and agreed. Today our party ordered lime shrimp tacos x 2, a burger and chicken tenders. The shrimp tacos were laughable and gross. One order had a green/brown squeeze of unidentifiable substance at the taco end that literally looked and tasted disgusting. There were 5 tiny popcorn shrimp buried under a can of pineapple with juice soaked tortillas. The waitress took them back, told the kitchen, came back for our order but first told us the many items complain about. So my husband ordered a burger and I was didn't order.. The burger was just meh at best. It is so unfortunate that the Tiki Hut cannot get quality "consistently great food". They occupy prime real estate and have terrible food, so disappointing. Would leave a 0 if I could. Showed up to the tiki hut tonight at 7:45 for dinner with friends (a party of 7) The sign outside the tiki hut said. Sundays 11:00-9. Once again we showed up at 7:45. We were told they could not take us because the kitchen closed at 8. But their hours of operation said they closed at 9. Another party of 4 was turned away as well. As we were pulling out on our boat 2 other boats pulled up to go eat there as well. We told them they would be turned away. Missed opportunity to make and keep business. This is a sorry way to run a business. We live on lake keowee and will not attempt to go there again. We will go to the Cabana next time. read more

Stopped by the tiki hut for lunch and what a pleasant surprise. Had the taco salad with grilled chicken that was so tender and juicy and seasoned just right I didn't even use the dressing! Plus who can resist fresh cilantro?! Then the bar tender used freshly squeezed oranges for my screwdriver! It was a perfect day by the lake today! Very impressed and will be back! read more

Island time is required here along with a laid back attitude. Waiting an hour after ordering for appetizers and entrees to all arrive at once is typical. Not getting silverware, napkins, ketchup, or water is also typical. When you eventually go up to the waiter station looking for such, great nonchalance is presented when they give you all that. The food is good, if haphazard, the fish sandwich might be great one day, the chicken sandwich a rubbery inedible mess the next. The atmosphere is tropical, lake life fun so people keep coming. Liquor flows. The fries are good and the wings are good but my wings were red inside. The waitresses and waiters are young, beautiful and sincere but clueless. The Place The Tiki Hut is on Lake Keowee in Seneca, South Carolina. The venue is nice and has all the necessary building blocks to be a great place. The Menu/Food The menu is so poorly laid out it takes interpretation help to understand. The menu online is easier to read then the one given at the restaurant. Hard to find a healthy or exciting entree. Our first entree was the Grouper Sandwich made with grilled Cat Fish with Lettuce, Pickles, & Tartar Sauce, second entree was the Chicken Club Sandwich made with grilled chicken, bacon, with american cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions on an artisan bun. Our third entree was the Tiki Taco prepared with Ground beef, Cheese, Lettuce, and Pico. The fourth entree was really an appetizer that we ordered as an entree. The Chicken Supreme Nachos made with Black Beans, Queso Cheese, Tomatoes, Onion's, & Jalapeños served with side of Salsa, Sour Cream, and Guacamole. Overall our food was ok but nothing exceptional or exciting. The Service/Experience Our waitress was from Chicago and was extremely friendly and helpful. She guided us through the menu and made our dining experience tolerable! She was truly delightful. This restaurant needs leadership... plain and simple. This establishment needs to up their game!! It's changed ownership a couple of times - the food and service is not as good as it used to be. Weekend nights are way too rowdy and watched someone get jumped outside in the parking lot.
