Quite the amazing experience! Highly recommend the giant pretzel if there is more than one person enjoying it; otherwise, it will suffice as an entire meal. The service was also incredible, with timely checks for drinks and clearance of used cutlery and plates. I was with a group of 5 ladies and we planned our trip to the Stumphaus Taproom after visiting the Stumphaus Tunnel. Luckily we found a table with enough room because right after we arrived the place started filling up. We had the cute and friendly Alyson as our server and we started out by choosing beers from the draft menu. I had the Olde-Hickory Hefe-Weizen which I thought was good; but nothing special. A few friends had the Stumphaus Lager and they really liked it. The beers were reasonably priced from $3.50-$8. They had an extensive food menu with salads, sandwiches, appetizers, and even tacos and quesadillas. We decided to share a few different tapas/appetizers. One friend got the "Tarts Pick 3" for $14. They were super cute, original, and delicious. (They even looked like works of art!). I ordered the Street Corn Dip which came with potato chips for dipping. It was quite large and very good; only $11. Another friend ordered the Edamame Basket which was only $11. It came with sweet chili sauce for dipping and we all liked it. A 4th friend ordered the Verner's Bruschetta. It was a hefty portion as well, and priced at $13. It was unique and good with tomatoes, basil, cucumbers, Queso Fresco , and balsamic glaze. The final friend had a wedge salad which I didn't try; but it was presented beautifully and she said it was really tasty. All our food was really yummy, and the prices were reasonable. It did take a little long for our food; but the restaurant was very busy and all the servers were hustling and they all kept smiles on their faces! I would definitely suggest a visit to Stumphaus Taproom if you're ever in Walhalla. read more

What a busy little restaurant! They had a singer playing guitar that was really good. Our food was delicious and they have a rotating specials menu. I'm not a bourbon drinker but after one sip of my husband's Old Fashion I ordered my own it was that good. The one thing I did not care for was their lump crab and Gouda cheese dip. We had a wonderful experience eating lunch here last week. We were looking for a restaurant where we could sit outside because we had our dog with us, and the waitress brought us to their wonderful courtyard! She brought a bowl of water for our dog and made us comfortable. The service, the atmosphere, and the food were all excellent, and the food was pleasantly presented! Wow! Wow! Love it when I stumble upon a great restaurant like this. Love the old restored building and just the feel. Lots of dark wood and a nice large bar with lots of taps. Could not go there due to it being lunch. Set at a higher top in the bar area so the bartender took excellent care of us. The menu on Yelp was underwhelming at best but once we got in we were so pleasantly surprised to find the special menu. I had the smoked salmon salad which was delicious and filling. Now let's talk about the sweet tea. Amazing. Not sure what the extra was but it was definitely not normal Lipton. It was great. Loved it all and will be back if I am back in the area. read more

We were excited to visit the Stumphaus Taproom. We were seated promptly, then the experience rapidly went south. The restaurant was very crowded & the noise was deafening. On top of the crowd noise, they had live entertainment which just amplified the cacophony. We ordered drinks which were brought after 15 minutes. We also ordered edamame to enjoy with our drinks. The edamame didn't arrive for 45 minutes so we had to leave & asked to get the edamame to go. That process took another 20 minutes. Over an hour to get an order of edamame?!!! OMG. Worst of all the server wasn't even concerned & failed to check on us. The entire staff seemed to ambivalent about customer service. While waiting for my now to go order, I asked to speak to a manager (no show) . I finally gave up & left when the edamame finally arrived. Horrible experience. We will never return. I'll be shocked if this restaurant is still open by Labor Day Never been treated worse! I'm only giving 1 star because the app won't let me give 0. read more

Love it there ! Great selection of food and drinks in an inviting atmosphere. Patio is really nice w watch football or enjoy fire-pits under the clear fall sky. We love coming here. The food is great. The staff are great. Atmosphere is top tier. There's seating outside with fire pits. Inside is "pick where you want to sit". They have tvs playing on low volume and good music is playing. They have a great selection of alcohol too. read more

Service is not good. I had to wait over 20 minutes to order. Once I ordered I had to wait a long time to receive the food. I had to wait a long time for the check after I ate and then again to get my card back. It's a long wait all around. The food is OK. Nothing spectacular. read more

Wow! This place is a hidden gem. We came by a couple of times when they opened and it was great. Big beer selection. Super friendly staff. Nichole is one of the owners and treated us like family. Visiting today for lunch and it's even better. Carlee was super informative and attentive. Great live music on the weekends. Outdoor patio is huge. Friendly place, good menu, good bar...BUT the service is pretty poor and the kitchen is sloooww. If you come during off hours in the middle of the week you'll be fine but during regular dining hours or on the weekends expect an inappropriately long wait for every thing, you'll have to ask for silverware, and track down your check. We keep coming back because they're open more often than other spots on main st walhalla but it's not ideal. read more

I've been a few times, during the week is nice, but going on a Fri night is terrible due to noise & service! The noise level was very high and then with live music, it got even louder and everyone at the table had to basically yell to hear each other. They need to do something about the acoustics and install sound absorbing panels or something. The service was terrible, it took ~15mins to get menus and order drinks, we went ahead and ordered our food while still waiting ~20 mins to get almost all drinks, 1 drink was missing! Go to the Taproom for prepackaged food., Overpriced, weak, drinks served by inexperienced, arrogant, bartender girls. Make sure to go on a weekend for their Blasting loud, amateur hour music. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to wait for a sever, wait for your mediocre food, and wait for your bill. It was decent last year. It's really gone way, down hill. The ambience is comfortable, good place to meet friends for drinks and food. The beer is excellent, too. I had the top one on the menu, can't recall the name, and loved it. we had a private party of 22. the wait staff did pretty good. Food was not good. first, 1 or 2 plates came out at a time, but it took about 45 minutes for all food to be delivered. this caused the last couple of people to eat by themselves after everyone finished. overpriced for what you get. my husband had 1 bratwurst and potatoe salad for $10. I had the worst French dip ever. hardly any meat on it. they also put some sweet jam on which ruined the sandwich. it came with potato chips: $14! a total rip off. my husband had an old fashion that he wished he would have sent back. very watery with little flavor. will not go back. read more
