Meat and three... pick me, pick me! From the moment I cued up in line just before the door opened to when I paid the check, the customer was superb! There was a crowd building at about 10:45am in anticipation of the 11am opening. I braved the wind and stood with everyone else. I was seated just inside the door at a table for two and quickly ordered an unsweetened iced tea. After looking at the menu, I had to decide was three I would pick. It was not an easy decision! I settled on fried whole wings, mac and cheese, creamed corn and broccoli casserole. There was a piece of corn bread on the side as well. Next time, I will choose something other than the broccoli casserole... it wasn't a favorite. I truly enjoy a small business and this was a must return place. I suspect the dessert options are stellar... I was too stuffed to even consider it. read more

Can anyone tell me if this place is actually in business? We've gone twice when they were supposedly open according to the posted times, and the place was closed and dark both times. Tried to call, voice mail is full. read more

We try a different meat and 3 each Sunday and this weekend we drove out to Wilhelmina's. Granted it was a 25 minute drive and we passed many great places on the way. Not really busy and we were seated promptly. 5 minute wait for drink orders. After we ordered it was 30 minutes before we received our food. Like I said they were not busy. Maybe busy with to-go orders. The fried chicken was very good. Small breast and wing. A little too salty. I guess it was what some people called "seasoned". The hashbrown casserole was good and the collards came from a can. Best item was the chicken. After all was said and done the bill with tip was $41.00. Both of us had One meat and two vegetable meals with tea. Way too much for the food we received. If you live on this side of Anderson and this is all you have, its good. But we won't be back. Just my honest opinion. read more

I love supporting small black businesses, and I'm so glad I finally got a chance to visit Wilhelmina's! I would strongly recommend giving it a try next time you're passing through SC. read more

We often go to Wilhelmina's Kitchen on Sundays for lunch. The food is always hot when served and the owners will be out to check on you and make certain your food is as ordered. Waitresses are always checking to make sure drinks are full and if they can help with drinks. read more

Excellent country cooking, sweet potato crumble was delicious as was the country fried steak.

DO NOT GO save your money and specially your time do not go. servers are terrible and takes way to long to get your food. unless you like waiting over 40min to eat. Go to Pendleton to have better food and in a reasonable time frame. read more

What an authentic gem. Quick, efficient service and the food is exceptional. Some of the best tasting Mac and cheese I've ever had. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned, moist on inside and not greasy at all. The cornbread was to die for- crunchy, sweet and seasoned on the outside. Nothing fancy, but exceptional roadside Southern fare. read more

Wilhelmina's Kitchen - Menu - American Near Me - Anderson, South Carolina

Small little place but they fit the tables in quite well. There is not much to the menu, but sometimes that exceeds the restaurants that want to be everything to everyone. I went with a co-worker, both of us on a business trip. We were looking for something fast but came upon Wilhelmina's and decided to try it out. The service was out of this world! We both got the fried fish with rice and black beans. The black beans were ridiculously good! The portions were big! Extremely pleasant folks there who make it a great overall experience. read more

Food was good and service to match!! Outside decor catches you off guard but inside the food and atmosphere makes up for it!!

Live this place as it is Southern cooking at its finest. Be sure to order early on Sunday as they sell out of certain items quickly!

I thrive to support small businesses! I've heard so many good things about this place . I follow the page on Facebook, today I decided this was the day I wanted to try it and it did not disappoint. This place was absolutely amazing . MY MY MY MY !! Was all I could say . The food was phenomenal. Probably some of the best soul food , that I've had in awhile . Sorry Grandma don't be upset but it's the truth . My plate was filled with food , you get the bang for your buck . The food was served hot and fresh . The customer service was a major plus , everyone was friendly and made you feel welcome . The place itself reminds you of grandma's kitchen on the inside , very pretty decor , makes you feel at home . I would say if you are ever in the area , this place is definitely a must try . I will definitely be returning . Good job guys! read more

Wilhelmina's Kitchen - Fried chicken (Dark Meat ) plate with Mashed Potatoes & Gravy and broccoli casserole - American Near Me - Anderson, South Carolina

I went there one time at lunch when they first opened and the food was just fair. I went back to give them a second chance since I figured they might have been having a bad day. I got meatloaf (tasted like wood chips) greenbeans (cold and stems all in them) and mashed potatoes (mainly watery and flavorless). A friend also went one day and said the only thing he could get past his lips was the chicken. He said that was pretty good but wouldn't be back if that's all they did well. I agree... I won't be back either. Good luck to them in their business. I ran one also, and it is hard out there sometimes. I realize this review was not timely, since I ate there close to a year ago. I have increased the number of stars from 1 to 3. I may decide to go back someday and do a re-review. I just saw all of these 5-star ratings and I thought that they were way too forgiving. It was not what I experienced. read more

I love this little place. The food is amazing and the service is impeccable. I could eat there every day!

Awesome wonderfully tasting food but had to wait over an hour after being seated to be served. On another occasion tried to place an order to go about 2 hours before their closing time and was told it was too late to place an order to go. However I heard another customer who happened to be black (I'm white) place an order to go as I was disappointedly leaving. read more

Don't let the gas station store front fool you, the food is simple, tasty and served with a smile! Loved the fried chicken made to order. Crispy on the outside, moist and delicious on the inside. The cornbread is the best and could easily be considered dessert. Will definitely be back! read more

Today was my first visit. The fried chicken was crispy and very well seasoned! They gave 3 pieces dark meat which was a huge portion. The green beans were seasoned very simply and were very good. The brown gravy on the mashed potatoes and gravy was some of the best I've had. Last but not least the macaroni and cheese was homemade and was perfect! These are great folks and made me feel welcome on my first visit! Looking forward to paying them another visit soon. read more
