My husband used to eat here with his favorite uncle as a child and insisted we go. Likes: fast, not expensive, hot food, the "good ice", and really good Diet Coke! Dislikes: food wasn't anything special, very very very tight seating, and they don't offer a kids burger plate? (Weird to me.) Overall, nothing special, but a local burger joint. Locals seem to love it. Gravy on everything is their signature. The onion rings were real onions and only lightly breaded, I prefer more breading because it was almost like eating a half raw onion. Fries were extremely bland. I don't think they salt anything. Burgers were extremely bland and appear to be frozen patties. Gravy wasn't anything special to me. I didn't get it, but I tried my husbands. Slaw was the best thing I had. I liked their slaw it taste homemade, southern style. It wasn't sweet slaw if you were wondering. The hush puppies were good! Restaurant is dated, but appears clean. Bathrooms are outside and they are clean. Seems to be really popular place. It was crowded!

Overall, It's alright. My food was going cold when I got it. 2.5 stars would have suited better. I was not impressed honestly. The onion rings are not my favorite (I prefer hot & well battered) as you can see they were kinda cold and not well battered at all. (I was mad I paid $2.00 extra for them) My first time having it. I want to try fries next time but the onion rings were a huge let down. The burger was good but not worth the price of the food honestly. (My opinion) I'll give them another try in the future but as a first time customer I was not impressed. I did like during COVID-19 they bring out the food to you! Big props for decreasing contact!! My family ordered the Flounder Plate & Shrimp plate which seemed better! They liked both dishes but did mention the coleslaw was "okay". The hush puppies were well liked! Sorry for the half eaten photos. (Forgot to take the photos beforehand.

What has happened to the good sweet tea there? Now it tastes like sour tea that has been sitting out all day and the gravy used to be the best in town now it doesn't taste good and the gravy looks darker

Clean but well worn. A good local dive.

It's a local dive. Clean. Very fast. Polite attentive service. My burger was in front of me in 90 seconds. That fast... My tea was refilled when it was down just 20%. Seats look like Waffle House. My burger was ok. Nothing special. Nothing horrible. Fries are frozen waffle cut. Cooked well not greasy. The salad is a small styrofoam cup of wilted lettuce. But this IS a dive. It looked like it was fresh just a little while ago. I will give 3 stars on service and attitude. They get extra credit for clean dive atmosphere. Food was just a 2 though... I'm going to say that I won't be coming back. Once was enough. So I have to go with two.

This restaurant is OK. The food wasn't bad, but was way overpriced. The restaurant has a diner feel to it, but with higher prices.

Horrible! Who steams a burger? If you see good reviews it is from a local who knows nothing about good food.

The employee at the window couldn't have been nicer, very friendly, helpful, and even offered me a menu to keep for future visits. Truly excellent customer service. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich (lettuce and tomato only (no premium topping options available), along with onion rings and coleslaw. The total came to $13.08 before tip, which is a great price and initially set expectations fairly high. The wait time was reasonable, but when I received the bag it felt surprisingly light. Once home, the portion sizes were underwhelming. The onion rings were moderate, the coleslaw was about an ice-cream-scoop portion, and the grilled chicken sandwich consisted of a very small piece of chicken with one slice of lettuce and a thin slice of tomato on a plain white bun. For context, I weighed the chicken portion and it came in at 2.68 ounces, which is noticeably smaller than expected for a sandwich. Food quality was basic. The coleslaw appeared pre-packaged and was quite watery, and the onion rings seemed mass-produced rather than freshly battered. The chicken itself could have used more seasoning and a more substantial portion. Even a slightly upgraded bun would have helped. I'm giving this two stars instead of three because while the service was outstanding and the pricing is attractive, this is a restaurant first and foremost, and the food quality and portions didn't meet expectations. I'm not trying to bash ownership; a small increase in price to allow for better ingredients and slightly larger portions could make a big difference.

We sat inside for a few minutes but decided the kids would have more fun with the open and Empty space on the back patio. One of the dads walked the kids out there to give them some room to play. The kids weren't being loud or disruptive at all, just being kids and walking around. While we were at the bar ordering drinks, the bartender said, "the kids can't be alone back there." We let him know a parent was literally with them and we were all going to join them when we got our drinks, but instead of acknowledging that, he watched the security cameras and replied, "We're trying to run a restaurant here." Again, the kids were NOT being bad, not screaming, and not being disruptive. His tone and attitude were shockingly rude. We were stunned. Not once were we spoken to with kindness, understanding, or basic hospitality from this bartender. Instead, it felt like we were an inconvenience from the moment we walked in. We left after only 20 minutes and I'm so glad because upon leaving, I noticed the food looked bad as well. Extremely disappointed all around. Do better, bartender in the corduroy jacket.

This is a sandwich and salad lunch place, and there were several plausible options for vegetarians and vegans. My order came with a side and I added a cookie. Ice cups were out for a self-serve collection of tea (sweet or unsweet), lemonade, and water at no extra charge. My mushroom-heavy toasted sandwich delivered on flavor, with a rosemary olive oil bread contrasting the massive amount of mushrooms and a zippy romesco inside. For a side, I received a garlicky hummus with pita. My cookie was a slightly odd texture, but it did round out the experience and keep me full for an outdoor day. It was quick, easy, had options for most diets, was a nice place to eat, and on top of that I got out for a price I couldn't believe. To be fair, if I weren't in middle of nowhere South Carolina I'm sure there's no way I get that meal for under $20 at current rates, but I had no problem stopping here on the way to the mountains, and I doubt there was any better lunch option for a long way in any direction.
