The bar was clean and had a pool table with great music. The food was good as far as bar food goes, they did have other upscale food, but we went for lunch. The sampler is a good way to figure out how good the food is. I would had like to try the calamari but that was one of the appetizers not low on the sampler. What I had was good. Might be the most inconsistent place I've ever been to. I've came here a lot and it's been quick and the food has been delicious. Tonight has been a different story. Walked in and it took over 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us to seat us. Once seated outside, 30 minutes go by and not 1 waiter or waitress came to get our order for our drinks. Meanwhile they are tending to other tables all around us. Finally someone comes and gets our drink order. A couple also comes outside and gets sat and within 5 minutes has their waters and order taken while we still don't have our drinks. After we finally got our drinks we had to wait almost 45 minutes for our food and while waiting we had no one come to us for refills or to check up on us. Finally we get our wings and we were gave no paper towels and we still had not seen our waiter since we had got our drinks. As we're finishing up we finally see our waiter and she's over sitting down at the corner table talking to people and vaping while we have had empty waters for 30 minutes. And then it took forever for us to get the check and for them to take it. This is the worst service at a restraunt I've ever had. read more

I really like this place. Old floors. Cool tin ceiling. Nice wood trim and a classic wooden bar. Pub tables... They have the atmosphere. The staff was great. Attentive. I had a burger with chili and thought it was just exactly what I wanted. The price was right too... The menu seems to have enough selection to please most groups of reasonable people. Staying at the Hilton on Main Street in Anderson, SC. We asked the front desk where to go for dinner. Go to Raines they said. It was right across the street so why not? I could drink my Makers Mark and not worry about the POPO's. I should have worried more about the food but more importantly the service. The waitress was completely and totally not with it. So completely forgetful and not engaged that we were worried about her. I will leave that experience at that. The food was forgetful. Incredibly simple food that took 45 minutes to get. And it was served cold. My Bud Lite (yes. Bud lite) did not have one bit of carbonation. Not one excited bubble racing to the top. Flat as fresh road kill. Every restaurant has an off day. But this EXPERIENCE was way off. We left confused about dinner. Which is confusing in itself. We will not go back. I did take an exciting picture of the water. H2O at its finest. All the food was way over salted, and my family loves salt but this was to the point we either didn't eat or barely ate. We ordered fried mushrooms as an appetizer had to take the breading off it was so salty. My mother had fish and a baked potato, potato had been salted and was hard to eat. I had a sirloin with Mac and cheese, sirloin was cold and Mac and cheese couldn't eat it was so salty. This was my first time trying Raines on main . This is a very family oriented restaurant, I loved the atmosphere even though it was kinda noisy. The service wasn't terrible but it wasn't the best. Our waiter had forgotten our appetizers but all was forgiven when the manager allowed us to receive them even though she had forgot. I'll just say that it was very busy , so that's probably why the service wasn't the best. The food was really good the only thing that I ate that was hot was the cheese fries. The wings I had were delicious but they were warmish , I loved the bird dog wings. I will definitely be returning for the bird dog wings ! read more

Headed home and stopped in for dinner. The servers were friendly but the food was hit and miss. The wings I got were pretty good (I got the plain wings with ranch) but the apps my wife got were frozen, cheap versions. The cheese stick I tried was chewy and seemed like it may have been heated up in a microwave because the cheese on the inside was as hot as the sun even though the breading was normal. I don't know if the vooks are new but, the portions have gotten smaller, I ordered wings and they looked like they came from baby chick, they were small and dry. I went there with my friends and the wait was an hour and a half long to get our food. Our food was cold. My friend had to go to the restroom and she couldn't even use the restroom because the toilet paper had mold on it. They didn't even have soap to wash their hands and the sink was clogged. My other friend he went to the men's restroom and there wasn't even any toilet paper. He said that there was dish soap to wash your hands. My rating for Raines is kind of mixed. Mixed because they did an awesome job with the space and making it look & feel great, while trying to provide a great amount of food for less than $10; but the food isn't as good as it probably could be... I went in for lunch and ordered their palmetto burger that came topped with pimento cheese and a side of fries for only $6.99. Admittedly, I was blown away by the price! You can't hardly get a fast food combo for that price, let alone a sit down restaurant that you actually enjoy. The portions were also sizable which was unexpected. But let's talk about the food, because at the end of the day that's what matters right?? Honestly, I was disappointed with the actual burger itself. It tasted like it was taken out of a frozen package and thrown on a grill top until it was cooked. The beef was pretty bland and in need of salt and seasoning. I ordered medium temp, but it came out well done. This could be because it is a frozen burger that won't really cook to temp, or they might've just completely overcooked it. Either way, it tasted like it was priced - cheap. Overall, I don't want to be harsh on this place. It has potential and maybe they'll mark up their prices even if it's just $2-$3 in order to get better quality ingredients. Especially since all they do is burgers. If you're looking for something affordable, filling, and fast then it's a great spot to go to. But if you're looking for a killer burger, you may be better off checking out other options. read more
