Mediocre in every way...[[HIGHLIGHT]]the establishment has promise with its decor, lighting, and layout[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice patio and cornhole boards out back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pork chop was okay, mashed potatoes were decent. Dessert bleh. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No pets allowed anywhere on property.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do have promise in their bones.

In town for the holidays and found this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really cool vibe inside. Has an old Irish pub feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great and the food was outstanding. My table had pizza, Bangers and Mash and I had the corned beef and cabbage. All super delish. The corned beef was so tender and flavorful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really enjoyed our meal and the vibe here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This Irish Pub located around downtown Anderson is easy to walk or drive. Day before St Patrick's Day 2025, they had to save corned beef for then, so no Reuben available. Of course had to order one Guinness, fish & chips to-go, and tried the Scottish porridge. Porridge was nutty tasting and filled me up, also w side of grits or potatoes. My friend ordered breakfast pizza that has grits & eggs cooked into thin crust, she enjoyed it. My wife ate fish & chips later, she said it was heavy battered, the side of curried coleslaw is an acquired taste is what we determined. This is a perfectly fine Irish pub, our waitress Clemence was a jewel, sample a few different dishes until find your favorite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a small stage for live music, outdoor seating, stairs lead up not sure if this for public overflow or employee only.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The star of the show was our server Jake! Even if the food didn't live up to our expectations (it did) he was awesome! For our appetizer, per Jake's recommendation, we ordered the Fried Cajun Shrimp Cocktail. He was not wrong! The battered shrimp with cocktail sauce and Cajun remoulade was a perfect starter with loads of flavor! For lunch I chose the Shepard's Pie, perfect for this cold snap we're experiencing. I'd been craving Shepard's Pie (and considered cooking my own soon) this hit the spot! The hubby was struggling to choose between the Lamb Stew or Fish & Chips and ultimately went with the latter (I was hoping the former) but the fish was perfectly battered and the fries are the ones that seem double fried(?) not sure how to explain but they are crispy with a bit of fluff to them, perfect and perfectly seasoned. I couldn't resist helping him eat his meal too both our lunch choices were wonderful! I would order either/both again but I want to try some other options from their menu that I was torn on. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great lunch! Great service! Great atmosphere! 5 stars for McGee's for sure![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Decided to check out this Irish pub with a friend. We have both been to Ireland so the bar was set high. Easy to find location on W Orr Street in Anderson with lots of parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great Irish pub vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a stage for Live Music every Friday @ 7pm (according to the menu -featuring the best in Celtic, Folk, & World Music).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]That would be fun to experience, but I bet it would be crowded![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were two dinner specials, but we chose off the menu. I wanted to try a typical dish so I went with the Belfast Fish & Chips, crispy fries & curried coleslaw. My friend chose the Woodland Chicken Pasta. Both plates had good portions and the food was good. We had coffee and fruit cobbler for dessert. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fun atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll have to take the hubby next time. I think he'd enjoy trying out the different beers.

I honestly haven't had fish that good in 30 years! The last time was on Prince Edward Island, where the fish came straight in from the docks out back. This brought back those same memories. Definitely a meal worth talking about!

Now mind you there were a lot of empty tables with "reserved" on them at that point. Fast forward an hour later, because we didn't get a txt from them, we went in to see what the story was. They proceeded to tell us it would be another 30 minutes. Also the seats that had "reserved" on them were still empty! They said they would take care of us, and walked us over to the bar side, and told us we would have to stand at the counter to eat! I was fuming. The other three from my party walked out, while i proceeded to tell the manager this was extremely poor service! All he could say was they were busy. I pointed out the empty tables that were empty when we first walked in an hour ago and are still empty! They finally gave us one of those tables. We were out in an hour and guess what ...... there were still empty tables with "reserved" on them! Would NOT recommend this place to anyone! My suggestion is to go someplace else!! Like I said, our waitress was extremely nice and couldn't apologize enough.

What a great idea! I had forgotten how original and traditional the meals are, we were able to walk in with no reservation and get seated within 10 minutes where we all proceeded to order drinks and for me, Guinness! We started with a few pretzels with the beer cheese, which were fantastic. Then I was craving the Reuben, which was better than I even remembered. Not massively big but some of the best flavored meat I've had in a Reuben in a while. You can tell they cook it themselves and it was really super! Rest of the family bangers and mash and a lot of fish and chips, which is something they are known for. Great service, excellent cocktails, and the food was spot on. A great venue to spend the evening got home early to have a great weekend but so glad we came here Friday night. We live nearby and hardly ever come, and this was a real treat. Highly recommend.
