a row of wine bottles on a bar

This is my favorite bar ever... every time we come, we always ask ourselves... 'WHY DON'T WE COME MORE OFTEN?'... We have only ever eaten in the downstairs, which seats maybe 10 people MAX. So, get there and get a seat QUICK! It's cozy, dark & intimate... They do have a huge dining room where you can eat and drink as well, we just prefer the closeness of the authentic feeling German pub, service is so great. I'm not sure if he is the owner, but the older gentleman who works there is always so sweet and welcoming... amazing meat and sauerkraut.

Great little spot in Simpsonville! Beer, food and service are awesome! I highly recommend this spot if you are in the area.

Wonderfully quaint German Pub with an authentic feel. Located down a flight of stairs sits a bar and a few tables. Igor was our server and he was knowledgeable and made great suggestions. We had the charcuterie board and the London broil sliders with our beers. The board was plentiful and the flavor of the sliders was incredible. If you're looking for a place to have a few drinks and good food, stop by. Limited seating so there may be a wait.

This was our first time here and it didn't disappoint. Cozy and relaxed atmosphere- but TINY. This is not a place for large groups. The food was amazing and the beer was even better. We got a meat and cheese board, London broil sliders, Spätzle, and a couple of beers. I couldn't decide what I enjoyed the most. It was all mouth watering delicious. No specified parking but street parking that is fairly easy to come by within a reasonable walking distance.

Right off Main Street, this little pub in Simpsonville is really neat! The bar is located downstairs and the seating area is just big enough to seat 4 small dinner parties and a few folks at the bar. But don't let that stop you! Look at the wine and beer menus! The ambience is rustic but dignified, and classy but not pretentious.

2 delicious Brats, German Potato Salad, German Kraut (Entree)

Came back for the Spätzle last weekend. Delicious! I have noticed that the options for non-alcoholic drinks are extremely meager. Soda and water. No tea, no juice. I know it's a pub, but there are people like me who just come specifically for the food. Something to consider! Still a great place though, and will hopefully be back soon to try the next item!

This is my second or third time visiting this adorable bar! I don't live in the area, but every time we visit I try to make my way here. The only downfall of this place is it's getting busier and busier and the underground bar isn't big enough to accommodate a lot of people. It is so cute though! The owner will sit at the bar and tell stories, his staff is always friendly and quick with their service. They have food options for those feeling snacky. Our first visit here was out celebrating our anniversary and the owner gave us a dessert as a congrats! I can't say enough about this place. I just love it.

Oh yes, so tasty.

Service was excellent, food was yum! Get the salmon if available. It's a little piece of Germany tucked in downtown Simpsonville!

Wonderful, authentic German feel. Reminded me of my days in Germany when I was in the Army.

Amazing. The food, the beer, the atmosphere. The owner is usually on site and super friendly. Get there early and get a table downstairs.

Suitcase Social Club Dispatch No. 47: "Timmy vs. The Lumberjacks"…read more If you've ever wondered what happens when a grown man with sales quotas, a mild caffeine imbalance, and the attention span of a golden retriever discovers competitive lumberjack sports streaming on the bar TV... well, allow me to submit Exhibit A. I wandered into Main Street Bar & Eatery for what was supposed to be a "quick bite between quotes." Instead, I became spiritually welded to a barstool while the TV blasted a man in flannel yeeting a chainsaw like it owed him money. And the fried pickles. Good grief. Those things ambushed me. One minute I'm thinking "I'll just have a snack," and the next I'm waist-deep in a basket of fried circles of temptation, crunching my way into oblivion while pretending to "work." My laptop was open, sure, but let's not lie to ourselves -- I got absolutely nothing done. I was too busy yelling advice at professional lumberjacks like I'd trained for this moment my whole life. Tim the Suitcase Regular Rating Breakdown: * Atmosphere: Cozy but with the unpredictable energy of a log-rolling final * Food: Fried pickles that could ruin a man's productivity in the best possible way * Service: Friendly, fast, and kindly nonjudgmental of whatever fever dream I was living in * Entertainment: 10/10 involuntary lumberjack immersion If you're looking for a place where you can lose an entire afternoon under the noble banner of "I swear I'm still working", Main Street Bar & Eatery is the arena. Suitcase Social Club™ stamp of approval: Earned.

The delightful Jessica informed me I wouldn't be served until I smiled - I didn't have to wear a fake one all night, I just had to demonstrate I had it in me. (On retrospect I think she was reminding me to get out of work mode.) Regardless, kindness and shit-put-up-withry was the name of Jessica's game. A regular brought in some of the best Irish home cooking I've tasted to Jessica, and she brought enough for me and South Florida James to share too. SFJ half-jokingly offered to pay rent at Jessica's house so she'd have plausible deniability when her thieving neighbors moved back in with the carnival. The sign on the wall said "get along or get out." I saw no one not get along. The sign says "friendliest bar in the upstate." I don't know who's on the ballot to win that award next year, but it will be a tall hill to climb. Their pool sticks are absolute garbage, but the tables pretty good. No stars lost. Free dum dums!
