The hazy was the best o' the bunch, but all were good. I probably won't order the Kawi (coffee milk stout again), but the hazy and the Oktoberfest and the dark Belgium are all on the table for next visit. One server on staff on both visits. I'm a local, so I go to Currahee Brewery in Clayton. I have no problem with the beer, but the inside is like a dungeon, and they need to spend some money on this location. I have been going for years and they added pool tables, but the walls on the beer side are black and the lighting is very dim, so I think it's a depressing atmosphere most of the time. That is why I don't go as often as I would like. read more

On a weekend trip through North Georgia, after hiking in two State Parks, snow-tubed in NC, we decided to make the journey home with a few brewery stops along the way. First stop was here in downtown Clayton at Currahee BC. We visited this brewery in Franklin, NC. It was noon, and neither of us were hungry yet. I order a couple of brewskis. Of course they had to be IPAs. One of each of the Lucky Stars and Lucky Stars. Both made with the same type of hops but different yeast. I'd say it's not my favorite type of IPA. Perhaps next time we will taste something better. Alas we continued on. read more

Cute brewery offering all kinds of selections on beer. Appears to be a local spot for people to hangout outside and inside. The bathroom was clean, as well as the tables and floors. They were out of a few draft beers. I liked the 90's alternative rock music they played. Overall it was an okay brewery. Nothing bad to say about Currahee. The ambiance of this small town brewery was very comfy with rocking chairs out front, a cozy bar and swinging chairs. We had just finished a 9 mile hike up pinnacle knob on the Bartram trail so a beer hit the spot. Since we were camping at Moccasin Creek state park (about 30 min away in somewhat twisty road) we only had a beer at the brewery. We bought 4 different 6 packs to go including a hazy IPA and a lager. The lager is great for hot afternoon. Clayton is a great little town. read more

Wow wow wow! Excellent beers! My dad, brother, husband and I each got a different beer. They were ALL amazing! Hubby had the brown ale, Daddy the lager, my brother got the IPA and I had the coffee stout. I can see how the stout won awards! I'm not an IPA fan and even liked my brother's beer. Liked the brown ale and lager too. Great little find with nice outdoor seating. I love that they were hosting a cat adoption event too later that week. Arrived when the door opened on a Thursday and we were quickly joined by several other brew lovers. That was a positive sign! Nice bar area with lots of adjacent seating, even an outside fire pit. For a small town brewery this place is a huge surprise! Their hazy and wild IPAs really impressed me and can stand alongside of some larger brewery beers that I enjoy. Went on a day trip riding through the mountains and came across Currahee Brewing in Clayton. Well, like everyone who likes to have a cold one, my wife and I stopped to have a beer. The atmosphere and service were both great, and the Lucky Scars Hazy IPA is one of the best I have ever had. On our return home we just had to stop in for one more round.
