Wine flight
Katelin K.

Stonewall Creek is my favorite winery in Georgia. I have a great experience every time I come in. The staff is friendly and helpful. The patio is spacious and there is an area in the yard with a few places to sit. The wine is delicious! I usually get a flight to try a few options but the Cab Franc is my choice to take home. It is also helpful that they are kid and dog friendly. Love coming here!!

This is the best vineyard in the area. Hands down. If you're looking for anything to do in Clayton, come here. The gentlemen at the bar helping us out was incredibly nice. All of them were, really. My friend got into a deep conversation with one of them we didn't know where he was when we sat down. We tried their flight and wow-their stuff is really good. I tried the Traminette, Petit, Merlot, and Petit Zin. They were all tasty. The view is great. You're able to take great pictures from your table and sip wine from where you are. They do offer cheese plates as well. Great place!

Wine flight

The grounds are absolutely gorgeous with a spectacular view as you sit on the outdoor patio and relax to the sounds of live music. We did a wine flight which was more than adequate and snacked on some crackers and brownies that were for sale in the tasting room. I wish there were more food options available aside from a charcuterie board since I'm lactose and tolerant but aside from that wonderful experience. Everyone was really nice so we'll definitely be back.

What an awesome place for kids to run around. Great view with a creek, a dog, and most importantly an EV charger!!!

The view!!!

I am spoiled. This is the closest mountain winery to our Clayton rental home. We visit the home as much as we can and we are only about 10 minutes away from this little slice of heaven. The wine is very good. I love a dry rosé with a fruit after tone (but not sweet) and this winery has a great one. You don't have to get a tasting but you should on your first visit. I love to go with a few little snacks, get their charcuterie and grab a bottle, glass or even a glass of their sangria and watch the day pass by. During the summer and holidays they have a lot of live music. Pets and kids are encouraged and welcomed. Big field far from the main road to west both of those things out. They don't really have big food so bring snacks for kids or hangry parents. Just a great laid back vibe to add to your mountain escape!

Beautiful scenery

We went here on a weekend in October. For context, we had a dog with us and a baby. We sat at the picnic tables in the field just next to the vines so that we could enjoy the sun. It was a little chilly, and the staff offered guests the use of fuzzy blankets to use, which was very kind. There were a few dogs here that day that my dog was able to play with in the field. We each ordered wine flights with a mix of red, white, and desert wines. All of the wine was good! Our favorites by far were the Copperhead and the 2018 Antonio! They were so smooth and delicious! The charcuterie was also delicious, even though it was expensive for what you got. This vineyard was so beautiful. The one thing I will say is be prepared to park far and walk, as the parking at the vineyard itself is limited.

Truly one of our favorite wineries. They have the perfect picturesque setting sitting up on a hill overlooking the vineyard. The wine is absolutely delicious. I love how they describe the wines as they pour your tasting then you take the flight to your table to savor and enjoy the view (instead of standing at a bar rushing through). Excellent service. They also have charcuterie boxes to purchase and snack on. There's usually live music on weekends. Dogs are welcome. Our kids are older and they love the disc-golf course on the property. A great place to relax and unwind.

A marvelous view of the vineyard

The norton wine brownies alone deserve a five star rating. The mulled wine was also top notch. The place was busy so pours on the wine tasting were not as generous as other nearby wineries. They were more family friendly than other wineries and dogs were welcome on outdoor patio.

Good wine, good people, and a beautiful vineyard. Highly recommend. Don't miss it if you are near Tallulah Gorge, Tiger, or Clayton area.

If you are a red drinker I recommend the Copperhead and Cab Franc, both are incredible, the copperhead is our favorite though.

Even though they were closed the day I drove by, I couldn't resist heading up just to take a peek. The 1.5 miles from the paved road is a slow, winding dirt and gravel road with heavy gravel, bumpy pockets, and some steep sections. I drive a VW Jetta (a regular four-door sedan), and it was no easy feat--definitely took a beating. It took me about 20-25 minutes to reach the top at a careful pace. I've seen reviews saying it's manageable in a car, but I'd strongly caution anyone with a low-clearance or smaller vehicle: this road is rougher than it sounds. Once I made it to the gate, I parked and walked around. Wow--what a breathtaking, almost magical spot! The panoramic mountain views are incredible, and the whole setting feels like a hidden gem high up on the ridge. I'd love to come back when they're open for a proper tasting and to enjoy the views with a glass of wine. Next time, though, I'll be sure to bring a vehicle with better ground clearance--something like a small SUV, truck, or 4WD. Totally worth the adventure, but be prepared for the terrain!

What could be better after a hike on beautiful Yonah Mountain than a visit to nearby Yonah Mountain…read moreVineyards? A lot of things as it turned out. Although the setting is admittedly spectacular, acres of hilly vineyards with views of the mountain behind, and the patio was certainly fancy, the tables each with fire pits in the center providing cheery warmth, the tasting experience itself was sub-par and overpriced. It lacked the authentic feel I've seen in other wineries and seems more of a tourist destination. First thing I noticed is the shockingly high tasting fee of $35 for a flight of 4 2-ounce pours of their choice. No substitutions allowed! Either these are some spectacularly great wines or this is a major rip-off. I passed. But since I was here I decided to have a glass. I got one of their estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. It was around $16 but since I was here. It was good, but certainly not worth the $48 they charge for a bottle. For the $35 do you get individual attention, descriptions from the bartender about the wines and about their winery? No. You get 4 labeled glasses to take back to your table. Not worth it. Find another place less touristy, more authentic. That shouldn't be hard. There are like 65 wineries in the area!

"Wine enters through the mouth, Love, the eyes…read more I raise the glass to my mouth, I look at you, I sigh." William Butler Yeats With the beautiful backdrop of the rolling hills of North Georgia, Yonah Mountains Vineyards delivers real wine and real romance. Whether it's for an afternoon date, or a full out wedding among the rows of vines, it's hard not to feel love in the air. Great outdoor seating, both covered and uncovered, place you right above the beautiful vineyard and allow you to take it all in. Yonah Mountains Vineyards separates itself from the others by providing familiar wines such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay etc as opposed to the traditional Muscadine wines of the south. The wine itself is decent, but definitely not near the quality of the west coast wines, but all were enjoyable. I particularly liked their Genesis 12, a red wine blend, and their Viognier, an impressive white. Wine flights are around $60 with a choice between white, red, or mixed. Bottles run around $40-100. A little pricey for the product, but then again, it's the whole experience that you are buying, and it's money well spent. Yonah Mountain Vineyards strikes the perfect balance between classy and casual. You'll be just as comfortable in jeans as in a tux or a horrid bridesmaid dress. Cheers!
