We didn't have the food, but the family enjoyed the tastings. We also got a few bottles to take home. The host and his pouring assistant were delightful--great music, sharing family stories and enjoying each others' travels. The grotto hada very Italian vibe but is also just a lovely space. There's an outdoor area and a store. Several bathrooms and a walkable property. A great way to spend the afternoon.

Beautiful Tuscan Style winery! I really enjoyed this winery. We were there for a wine tasting. We were welcomed straight off of the shuttle with a choice or white wine or rose. Chose the rose which was really delicious. In fact, every wine I tried there (8 wines) were great. I bought the rose and the lemon wine. The sommelier was indeed an expert. He is from Cuba and his wife is from the Caribbean. He played the best music (yes he was the DJ from his phone) and offered the best suggestions of food to pair with the wine we tasted. We started light, then sweet, then dry and on to dessert wines. Highly recommend.

Great wine spot! I loved the Chardonnay my husband liked the Magestic. Great music on the patio and the landscaping around the outside was so pretty!

This is a great spot if you are trying out the wineries in the area. The outdoor area is beautiful and there is seating inside as well. I recommend doing the tasting so that you can try most of their wines and you get a souvenir glass with the tasting. After the tasting you can order a glass or bottle and I suggest taking some home as well. The dessert wine that tastes like limoncello is amazing.

I came here with my husband because we love Italian wines, after our trip to Italy. Let me just say, even though the vineyard lacks life this time of year, it is still a very beautiful property nuzzled in a mountainous area. It's truly so beautiful everywhere you look. The stone building has a very Italian and cozy cottage vibe to it and the wine! Oh my heart! The wine here is simply delectable with every sip. We ended up doing the couples tasting promo & got to taste 7 wines. We split the tasting, sat outside listening to live music, with a couple glasses of wine and took home two bottles. It was magical. It was very windy and chilly but the service here was warm, inviting and accommodating.

Great wine and live music! Michaela was so kind and helped us decide on which wines to try. Looking forward to coming back again.

Serenity Cellars Winery is one of the best wineries in the area, in my opinion. Michaela is friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend you come here when you are in the area!

My guy and I had a super experience at Serenity. We went on Tuesday afternoon and had the patio all to ourselves for a little bit. We had the tastings experienced and enjoyed many of the wines (we left with 6 bottles!) I cannot remember the name of the wonderful man they have guiding us through the tastings but he was impeccable. We both learned so much and very much enjoyed him. We plan to return to the area for more quick getaways and want to visit Serenity on a weekend night when they have live music as it's sure to be a great party. Yelp #15 2022

This lady lace is listed as having a restaurant- do you?

They do not. They do however, sell nice Italian meats, cheeses, gourmet snacks and can give you plates and silverware....or better yet, they allow you to pack your own picnic or whatever and bring it in. This place is divine and they are so friendly.

Looks great! Are they pet friendly?

    They are!

It was easy to find with plenty of parking, and although it looked like they were preparing for an event later that evening, everything was still open and running smoothly. The property was clean and well-kept, with live music set up and playing outside, which added to the atmosphere. We ordered at a counter. I chose the sweet selection and my daughter chose the white wine flight. Each flight included four 2 oz pours and cost $60 total. We were informed there was also a food truck on-site. We tried the pimento cheese dip and hummus platter--both were enjoyable, though a bit pricey (I don't recall the exact amounts). The vineyard has a large covered patio as well as another seating area with sun shades. Most tables were occupied, and several guests had brought their dogs, which added a relaxed, welcoming feel. While I enjoyed the overall experience, I did find the wines and food a bit on the expensive side, especially given the bottle prices listed on the tasting menu (ranging roughly from $36 to $75). I didn't end up purchasing any bottles for that reason. Overall, it was a pleasant visit and a nice way to spend Father's Day. I'd consider coming back again--possibly in the fall, and bringing my dog next time.

With my family from…read moreVirginia, my groom's family from Alabama, and our love of North Georgia, we zeroed in on several properties throughout this area. After visiting over five properties, all were either too rustic or too cookie cutter perfect. On our final site visit, we knew we had found THE place at Mountain Laurel Farm. The farm is located just inside the Chattahoochee National Forest which provides so many scenic views. Driving up, you're just taken away by the tranquil peace of the property. The barn itself is quite rustic, but it's so charming and still provides the basic necessities (restrooms, electricity). Although there is no climate control, we had no issue with the heat on our wedding date after opening all the doors and windows and adding a few household fans. I do wish there had been more resources in the catering room; I'm hoping Melody can make some upgrades there in the future (running water/industrial sink, ice machine, larger fridge/freezer). However, our caterer had no issues with making the catering area work for them. Melody, the property owner/manager, was incredibly easy to work with. She was so patient throughout the process, quickly answering all my questions and concerns. She has so much décor and so many props and furniture available at the barn, along with her linen rentals, you really only need to show up with your food and beverage. She had lots of good ideas about how to set-up the barn so that it would maximize space for our guests. We loved having access to the farmhouse for the wedding day. Although no one lodged there, it was a welcome place for me and my bridesmaids to finish getting ready, as well as a cool spot for our wedding party and us to rest after the ceremony and before photos. It was fun to look out onto the ceremony space before the ceremony and after and see all of our family and friends gathering for our special day. The property is located a short distance from a major interstate, and just off a main highway, with close access to resources (grocery store, entertainment and cultural activities, department chain stores). This was helpful to our friends and families, all traveling in from out of town. Most of our guests made a weekend of the trip, visiting Helen, wineries, water activities, and all the other things the area has to offer. There are many rental cabins close-by and we also held a block of hotel rooms in Helen which was convenient for our guests. If you are looking for a charming rustic location with wonderful amenities and breathtaking views, I highly recommend Mountain Laurel Farm for any wedding or social occasion!

In order to make my visit worthwhile, I decided to participate in the wine blending experience. Please note that this has to be booked ahead of time for them to prepare the items you need for the experience. When I entered the reception area of the winery I was greeted by who I know now is one of the owners which was a pleasant surprise. You get escorted down to the basement where the barrels and other items used in the winemaking process are stored. Imagine my excitement when I noticed the blending set up looked like a chemistry lab. The STEM girlie in me couldn't have been more excited! You are given some background on the history of the type of wines available and how certain blends are made. Once that is done, you are guided through blending your own wine; using 3 types of blends that are made on site at Kaya. The blends are red wines so if you prefer white blends this experience may not be for you. Once you complete your blend you seal it and label it and voila! Your own personalized wine. This experience was amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to come back to try it again. Nick was a top tier teacher for this experience!

It wasn't like the tour itself but actually got to make some bottles to take home of the wine. That in itself was worth it! So first things first you'll get there and you'll come into the lounge or cabin area and there are a couple of different spots you can go to. There is actually a spot for members only from what it looks like but there is a general spot and then there is a whole outdoor area like a patio. They have another outdoor area that is on the side of the building that you get the best view of the greenery and that's pretty amazing. It's a really nice view. If you're hungry, they have some small bites for you so don't feel like you have to drink and then not eat. Just in case you're wondering, they will have finger foods for you. It's nothing major but it's like dip or something along those lines so don't expect steaks. For the bottling you will go down to the basement where they have all the barrels (Nick was awesome and took care of everyone there). You will get to try a couple of different wines and mix those together to find a specific one that you like. At the end they will help you bottle it and cork it and then you will take it home. Overall if you haven't done any of the winery things in this part of Georgia, it would be a good place to start. Especially because there's so many in this area that you can do several in one day.
