Like the very disappointing Yonah Mountain Vineyards that I just left, I feel that Serenity Cellars was also overpriced, both the tasting fee and the wine bottles. But overall it was a much better experience. The tasting at this small boutique winery was personalized: I sat at the bar and tried the "Premier Wine Tasting." Two choices were offered: dry or sweet; 5 small pours in total. I got the dry. The bartender was informative and, as I was the only one there at the time, I got his undivided attention. He even threw in two extra small tastes of wines not in the flight that I asked about, no extra charge. Though the wines were expensive, they were quite good and I did buy a couple bottles, wanting to return home with a collection from my travels and I liked the place. I also liked the fact that they allow customers to bring their own food. Many wineries prohibit that, even if all they have to offer is prepackaged charcuterie platters. And I liked their "Serenity Now!" tee shirt enough to buy one of those too, though I'm normally opposed to paying a business to advertise their own business. Views and the inside space were nothing special. But they do have concerts and a food truck most weekends. The stage and patio looked like a good place to enjoy some wine, snacks, and local music. I was glad to end my Georgia wine tour on a (relatively) high note. read more

Super cute little winery in Cleveland. It felt like you are in Italy drinking wine. The view was beautiful. They had dry and sweet wine, even beer if you don't like wine. We were the only ones there when we came. Probably more fun on weekend when they have a live band. We were looking forward to trying the charcuterie board but it was sold out. They said they sold out over the weekend, but it was Wednesday when we went so I guess they don't stock on stuff as often. We did a wine tasting for $30 and that included a wine glass to take home. We ended up buying a bottle. Overall, I would love to come back during the weekend for the live music and the charcuterie board. read more

Small but beautifully tucked away below the gorgeous mountains, this tiny winery has a very Tuscan feel to it. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive even offering to swap out wines in the sampler that weren't to my liking. The wines are all very earthy and flavorful with real notes of berry or spice, not flavor syrups. The dolce when mixed with ginger beer was a huge hit amongst our group. The facilities are nice and I can only imagine how cozy this spot is in the winter/fall. Highly recommend. read more

Beautiful Tuscan Style winery! I really enjoyed this winery. We were there for a wine tasting. We were welcomed straight off of the shuttle with a choice or white wine or rose. Chose the rose which was really delicious. In fact, every wine I tried there (8 wines) were great. I bought the rose and the lemon wine. The sommelier was indeed an expert. He is from Cuba and his wife is from the Caribbean. He played the best music (yes he was the DJ from his phone) and offered the best suggestions of food to pair with the wine we tasted. This is a great spot if you are trying out the wineries in the area. The outdoor area is beautiful and there is seating inside as well. I recommend doing the tasting so that you can try most of their wines and you get a souvenir glass with the tasting. After the tasting you can order a glass or bottle and I suggest taking some home as well. The dessert wine that tastes like limoncello is amazing. read more

I came here with my husband because we love Italian wines, after our trip to Italy. Let me just say, even though the vineyard lacks life this time of year, it is still a very beautiful property nuzzled in a mountainous area. It's truly so beautiful everywhere you look. The stone building has a very Italian and cozy cottage vibe to it and the wine! Oh my heart! The wine here is simply delectable with every sip. We ended up doing the couples tasting promo & got to taste 7 wines. We split the tasting, sat outside listening to live music, with a couple glasses of wine and took home two bottles. It was magical. I love coming here when we are visiting. The grounds are so welcoming, the staff are friendly and the wines are pretty good (I have to have me some Dolce Bello!). This time we got to hang out in the cave room. There was "live music" (a woman singing to music played through bluetooth speakers), but she had a great voice and it was entertaining. My guy and I had a super experience at Serenity. We went on Tuesday afternoon and had the patio all to ourselves for a little bit. We had the tastings experienced and enjoyed many of the wines (we left with 6 bottles!) I cannot remember the name of the wonderful man they have guiding us through the tastings but he was impeccable. We both learned so much and very much enjoyed him. 5 stars all around. We have visited Serenity several times through wine tasting tours, and every time it's perfect. The latest tour had us taken to their function room - a beautiful Italian style themed room, with music and a very entertaining sommelier, very knowledgeable on their wines. Not only the sommelier but the other staff (apologies I didn't get their names) were happy, and really seemed to enjoy their work. A little flexibility from them - they weren't rigid at all. We had someone with mobility issues, who had no trouble with accessing the building. They had live music in the open area - dude playing his guitar behind his head particularly impressive. Beautiful winery with amazing views and even better wine. We loved almost everything we tried and enjoyed chatting with our knowledgeable wine steward. She was very attentive and even told us to go check out the back grotto after our tasting. They had live music when we were there and the singer was amazing. It was pretty packed inside and outside as it was a holiday weekend. It seems the most popular spot to hang out is outside make sure to get there early for that. Tastings were $14 a person with generous pours and I believe we sampled around $8 We went to another winery before that, where we were packed in like sardines and paid $25 for 5 tastings...it was very rushed and nothing like experience we had at Serenity. We mentioned being from Florida, escaping the hurricane and they then told us there would be no charge for our tasting. We will definitely visit again next time we come to town! read more

I would probably give this place a 3.5 but I'm rounding up. This place was just okay to me. This is owned by the same people as Cottage Winery nearby and I honestly liked that one so much better! Better interior, more choice of wines, and a better view. So if you pick one to try wines, I would say go to Cottage. I heard this place has awesome live music at night though, so maybe this would be a great place for drinks and music at night. I'm solely reviewing the wine tasting experience though! We came in and there were only 2 other people here around 5pm. The interior is pretty small. We were given the wine tasting menu and some of them, you have a choice to pick between them. However, there were a lot of wines that were out so you didn't get much of a choice. The one I was really looking forward to trying, the chocolate wine, was out! All of the wines that were available, besides the Riesling, were on the dry side. My boyfriend likes sweeter wines so he didn't really like much of them. I like all wines though and I enjoyed them! The lady pouring our wines was very nice though and was knowledgeable about them. So good service. There were more reds available than whites on the tasting, I believe. I am really into going to different wine tastings. I got the Groupon deal for here. So honestly while this place is good, I like Chateau Elan, Wolf Mountain, Yonah Mountain, and Cottage Winery (same owner) better. So I would recommend those places more. A wonderful winery experience! Walk amongst the vines, sit on their lovely patio, and visit their tasting room for a taste of their beautifully crafted wines. The staff are absolutely fabulous and walk you through all your options so you can have a serene experience. Their muscadine wines are some of the cleanest I have tasted and are nicely defined. It's better than many N Georgia wineries. There are a number better and those still fall short of many on the West coast. Nice place, smaller than many, larger than some in the area. Nice people. Pleasant atmosphere. Wines were drinkable. Some odd finishes and odd flavors in there, but nothing horrible. I would suggest that their wines are equal to West coast wines at half of what this place charges. Foo for a trip if you have not been there. Not worth a second trip, in my opinion. read more

One of the smaller winery that I have visited but it was very well put together. Has an outside seating area and a fire pit area. Great environment. What makes this spot special is the Dulce Bello and the Luce de Sol. Personally my favorite was the Dulce Bello it's like taking a sip of dessert of heavenly chocolate. First visit to this very quaint and cozy winery. It's located on a private road at the base of Yonah Mountain. Unfortunately, due to Covid, they were only offering bottle service and not tastings. Since it was our first visit they did let us try a small sample of two of their wines, which were pretty good, although the grapes for these wines are currently from outside the state because their vines are fairly new and not mature enough yet. We'll definitely be back sometime when they fully open. They have a great outdoor seating area with live music on the weekends. read more

Serenity Cellars is our absolute favorite Helen Winery! We came on an anniversary wine tasting tour and this is the one we keep coming back to even though it is a three and a half hour drive. We buy by the case every time we come and it is the only Chardonnay I have ever tasted that I actually like! Abby was a fantastic hostess and made our most recent trip a pleasure! We love this winery! They have some space inside, ample space outside, and they have a separate event space. I really like the Tranquility wine if I'm getting wine by the glass, but I LOVE their Dolce Bello, which is a chocolate dessert wine (similar to Port wine).
