We walked until we found cell service and called Pop's taxi. Our driver came to our rescue right away, found us on the side of the road and proceeded to cart us back (almost 2 hours) to Atlanta. Their fees are competitive and incredibly fair, the vehicle was clean and safe, our driver was kind, funny, a great conversationalist and even gave us a bit of a tour and some recommendations along the route. Update on a previous post: I first challenged the charge on a credit card. They contested it so…read moreit was not reversed. I then filed a small claims action. They claimed that it was the wrong address, (It was the address on their website, as well as on YELP). So the service was returned. Following is the explanation I previously posted: I first booked them for several trips in December of 2021. I called them from my house in Center Valley. They were one of the first shuttles I ever used, so when they said they required payment up front with a credit card, and assured me that I would be able to use any money from a cancelled shuttle in the future, I stupidly booked an entire week of shuttles, $385. Before the last shuttle they informed me that where I was going to park might be locked for the season when I got there, so I canceled the last shuttle and said I would return next year. I was again assured that the $80 credit would be available. No mention was made of any restrictions. I called to book a shuttle for July 2022. They said they were on vacation. I said, OK, just transfer the amount to one of the shuttlers that you work with (I had been told that they worked with other shuttles, and indeed on one shuttle, they did send someone else to take care of me.) They said no. They said that the guarantee does not extend to when they are on vacation...first time I have heard that!!!! They said I could come in August. I said I couldn't. I have since found NO other shuttle demands payment up front (though a few told me they would for a very long shuttle). I posted on a Facebook page dedicated to the Appalachian Trail. Without exception, everyone, hikers and shuttlers, expressed shock that such a large deposit would be required. The Further Shuttle promised me a service, refused to provide it when I requested it, and refused to do the right thing. David W. Quatrone

The walk is about a mile and half but plenty of breaks and some stops do have places to sit. Recommend also going early grabbing a glass of wine from a Georgia winery and enjoying their beautiful porch that over looks the square. The beds were a little hard and oddly the pillows were not uniform sizes. The bathroom door was very hard to open and close. A child could easily get stuck. We went to Brassie's for dinner and the server was very sweet and friendly but they were obviously shorthanded and the service was slow. We also ordered take out and the wings were a little freezer burnt. We did take out from the dining room as well, only ordering 3 side salads as they were out at Brassie's. The order was wrong (the initial bill was for 3 large salads (almost $40). It was finally resolved 25 minutes later, after a heated discussion between employees regarding changing the TV channel and an impolite exchange between the two hosts about who would seat a couple. The ice machine on the second floor did not work and the bartender at the dining room was rude. The view from the back porch was amazing, like something from a movie. The grounds were pretty and well maintained. The lobby is very nice as is the gift/pro shop. I did let them know at the front desk about the issues and they made a significant adjustment to my bill. Overall, we had a nice time and it is my understanding that this was their first weekend opening post Covid, so that might explain some of the issues. I did see another review that mentioned some of the staff making them feel unwelcome. This seems to mostly be an issue in the dining room. I got the same feeling and it was disappointing to find this in such a nice place. Overall, they seem to need to make some changes in staff and focus on details like adequate Brassie's staffing, less hold time when calling, verifying that things like the ice machine work, having food delivery to guest rooms from the restaurants, after hours food availability of some sort and fresh not frozen food in the restaurants. Please dont misunderstand though, the place is beautiful and some of the employees really worked to make our visit nice. Overall I would recommend. We travel very often and will return as this place does many things right. Hoping management will act on some of the feedback that I have spent time sharing here. The difference between an amazing stay and a mediocre one lies in attention to detail and how comfortable and welcoming staff are. With a few minor changes, this resort could be amazing.
