a bottle of wine and a plate of food

This quaint and cute tasting room offered a welcome reprieve from the bustling sidewalks and streets of Dahlonega on a very sunny and somewhat warm October afternoon. We took our seats in the intimate bar area, selected our four samples of choice (we all stuck with wines but each of us sampled a different selection. Meads are also available for tastings). All told, it was a not too much but not too little amount of wine we enjoyed for $8 per person. This was a relaxing and enjoyable way to try some new-to- us wines and the shop gave us a comfortable space where we could unwind with our wines! There are also fun items for sale that would make great gifts for others or just to keep and enjoy! This was an ideal way to experience and enjoy locally sourced wines and the person conducting the tasting was so personable and pleasant, it felt more like dropping in for drinks with a friend rather than a retail transaction. Cheers to Dahlonega, cheers to its tasting room and cheers to Georgia's wine industry!!!

What a cute little place! If you ever find yourself in the Dahlonega area be sure to stop in for some wine tasting! This cute little tasting room is located in the square. The cost was $5 for 5 tastings which can't be beat!! The staff was very knowledgable about the wines. The space is a big small so it's not really set up for large groups. Maybe a group of 2-3 max at once if you want everyone to taste at the same time. There are plenty of wine accessories/ decor! The best part is that once you're tipsy, you can somehow justify purchasing all of the cute little items! Happy wine tasting!

Every time I am visiting I go to the DAHLONEGA tasting room and get my stock of muscadine wine from the Habersham winery. They have tasting that are $8 but when you purchase wine they credit it back to you. Super nice friendly staff and very knowledgeable of all their wines.

Habersham Winery proper is located in Helen, GA, but for visitors' sake, they have a tasting room right off the historic Dalonega Square. So if you're interested in just the booze or to see if the taste makes your palate want to drive a bit further to the actual winery, then this is your place. Stocked with all their types of wine and, of course, matching wine accessories, the first couple of tastes are free. If you'd like to go beyond that, then for a small fee get a glass and taste away. It's also adjacent to a pet store. . which means there are three very cool dogs roaming around as you get your vino on!

Amanda did a wonderful job entertaining my wife and me during our short stay in Dahlonega. She was friendly and very helpful in choosing the different wines for my wife to sample. The sampling cost $5 to try 5 different wines that you get to choose. She obviously helped my wife and wife eventually insisted that I try one or two of them because she wanted to get a bottle. Wine isn't really my thing, but they were okay. She ended up buying a bottle eventually. I was looking forward to going to the actual winery, but I passed it on my way back into Helen and there did not seem to be too much about it. It lacked the charm of the area from the road. Montaluce was a much more wonderful experience and my wife compared the two. She basically said you could definitely taste the difference between the Habersham wines and the Montaluce wines (and she definitely favors Montaluce). Thank you Amanda for a nice experience in Dahlonega. It was still a pleasant experience and we had a great time speaking with you and sampling the wines!

Lovely place. The lady that served us was very friendly and went above and beyond for us, playing unofficial tour guide/adviser.

While staying on the square in Dahlonega we walked to this little spot and enjoyed perusing the gift items and tasting different meads/wines.

First off, I apologize for lack of photos. When we walked into this place, it was for the Wine…read moreTasting, so didn't even realize they had other things to purchase. It's not super easy to find! Dahlonega has lots of interesting twists and turns and back alley shops and some shops blended in so well with other places, that a random door opens up to more unique experiences. So, that's how we found this place. We were waiting to get our names in for Bourbon Street Grille, and this random door behind us boasted wine tasting. I thought it was just a one room deal behind us. When you see the door and the shop, you'll fully understand. If you like wine, this is worth it and a MUCH better deal than the Wine Festival (which is what we came for). It's not a big place and technically only has about 8 seats at the bar for tasting. Thankfully, it seemed all the festival goers didn't know about this place (bc it's totally a Harry Potter hidden type of deal) so we got 4 seats. The kids roamed around the shop while we tried wine. The flights are $12/$16 based off the wines you want. They have white, red, blended and rose. Oh, check in on Yelp and receive one free taste of any wine (I used mine)!!! I did the Rose, Merlot, Vidal Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and the Petit Manseng. Loved the Merlot (had a spicy after taste) the most! Then the Pinot Grigio. The Petit Manseng is their strongest wine but was my least favorite. However, I tasted the Trillium from someone else's in our group and LOVED IT. We ended up buying a bottle of Mtn Harvest Red plus the Apfelwein (the lady described it so well and made us want to get a bottle). I can honestly say I had such a buzz from the flight that I stopped drinking when we went to go eat. The wine was really good and certainly hit, so be careful! Totally worth checking this place out, if you can find it!!!

JUST IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!…read more This is a tasting room that is located in the Carriage House Shoppes just off the square. It is a cool space that has an open ceiling and can be viewed from the second level. The space is very casual with a nice sized bar and some other casual seating options. Throughout the space local and non-local works of art are displayed, dolls, pottery, sculptures and baskets. The general space was so cool that my husband and I actually wandered in and spent time speaking with Carol who was working there at the time. I am not sure if she is the owner but wow! I would love to see the owner take this space and elevate it so that it is a true destination spot instead of just a casual encounter. If I owned this space, I would have more comfortable seating arranged in conversational patterns. I would offer specific date night packages or pamper dates for women and girls, (for the young girls, I would serve exotic fruit juice blends with no alcohol added). Instead of just offering wine, I would through in a little liquor and I would also offer casual snacks and desserts to pair well with the drinks and help to keep my guests content. In this very small area, there are four tasting rooms and I think that it is important to stand out. I also think that when you elevate the space and offerings, you automatically elevate the experience and that is great! Why not turn it up a notch? Despite the thoughts in my head, this is still a great spot for taking a much needed pause from shopping and touring. Don't hesitate to stop in and say hello! Ms. Carol loves company and has a warm and inviting presence. We really enjoyed visiting with her.

It's hard to believe that there are any negative reviews about this charming tasting room. I…read morerealize it has moved and is now located in a second-story building right off the main Square, so maybe any negative reviews were meant for the former location. Our experience was pleasant and Penny was a gracious host. We were offered a variety of wines to please any taste. The "patio" was spacious and offered a good view of the Square. I suggest the Chardonnay, which was fruity and not too buttery. The Georgia Winery Tasting Room offers tours from "Haunted Locations" to eateries and shouldn't be missed. They are on the "Time to Wine" list.
