    Empty bottle Mountain Harvest Red

Went here for a family get-together at the Dahlonega Wine Festival. Found this place while waiting for the lunch waitlist. This pace was the highlight of our visit as the Dahlonega Wine Festival was not that awesome. The arts and shopping tents were amazing but the wine tent was pretty lame. And they were out of souvenir glasses! Anyways! I digress. Naturally Georgia really made our wine tasting plans happen! They have plenty of spaced out seating options, spread throughout their shopping areas. The prices of the flights were great, as were the wine selections! I really loved the Apfelwein, which taste like delicious juice! And the Mountain Harvest Red. Definitely recommend you check out this place!

We ended up buying a bottle of Mtn Harvest Red plus the Apfelwein (the lady described it so well and made us want to get a bottle).

JUST IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!…read more This is a tasting room that is located in the Carriage House Shoppes just off the square. It is a cool space that has an open ceiling and can be viewed from the second level. The space is very casual with a nice sized bar and some other casual seating options. Throughout the space local and non-local works of art are displayed, dolls, pottery, sculptures and baskets. The general space was so cool that my husband and I actually wandered in and spent time speaking with Carol who was working there at the time. I am not sure if she is the owner but wow! I would love to see the owner take this space and elevate it so that it is a true destination spot instead of just a casual encounter. If I owned this space, I would have more comfortable seating arranged in conversational patterns. I would offer specific date night packages or pamper dates for women and girls, (for the young girls, I would serve exotic fruit juice blends with no alcohol added). Instead of just offering wine, I would through in a little liquor and I would also offer casual snacks and desserts to pair well with the drinks and help to keep my guests content. In this very small area, there are four tasting rooms and I think that it is important to stand out. I also think that when you elevate the space and offerings, you automatically elevate the experience and that is great! Why not turn it up a notch? Despite the thoughts in my head, this is still a great spot for taking a much needed pause from shopping and touring. Don't hesitate to stop in and say hello! Ms. Carol loves company and has a warm and inviting presence. We really enjoyed visiting with her.

It's hard to believe that there are any negative reviews about this charming tasting room. I…read morerealize it has moved and is now located in a second-story building right off the main Square, so maybe any negative reviews were meant for the former location. Our experience was pleasant and Penny was a gracious host. We were offered a variety of wines to please any taste. The "patio" was spacious and offered a good view of the Square. I suggest the Chardonnay, which was fruity and not too buttery. The Georgia Winery Tasting Room offers tours from "Haunted Locations" to eateries and shouldn't be missed. They are on the "Time to Wine" list.

Spending the day at Montaluce Winery and Estates in Dahlonega felt like a total escape to the…read moreItalian countryside without ever leaving Georgia. I had my crew up from Chattanooga in town, and we couldn't have picked a better spot to celebrate. We kicked things off at the main restaurant for brunch, and honestly, the vibes there never miss. I wanted to keep it a bit lighter since I knew we'd be exploring, so I went with a crisp glass of wine, some fresh focaccia, and the Thai Butternut Squash Soup. That soup was incredible. It was perfectly creamy with just the right kick. Everything hit the table so fast, and the service was on point. My friend even surprised me with a lemon drop cupcake, which was the sweetest touch to a chill afternoon on the patio. After we ate, we headed out for a tour and I was honestly shook by how massive this property is. I've been here before, but I had no idea the trails went back that far. The views are unreal and made for the perfect post-brunch stroll. By the time we finished the trail, we'd worked up a second appetite, so we finally hit up Trattoria di Montaluce. I usually skip it because the brunch normally leaves me stuffed, but I'm so glad we went for it this time. That wood-fired Margherita pizza was easily the best I've had in a minute. There's just something about that wood-fired crust that hits differently! This has seriously been the best birthday month ever, and everyone coming into town to celebrate has made it so special. Of course, I couldn't leave without hitting the gift shop for that coconut scrub. If you know, you know. This stuff makes your hands feel like velvet. It's a total staple. I'm already planning my next trip back to see more of the grounds.
