On the porch
Antoinette G.

Five stars all around! We visited this winery for the first time yesterday, and will definitely return for several reasons: Atmosphere: They have really nice seating inside and outside under the porch, and then under the pavilion and outside by the pasture. Even though there were a lot of people when we went, seating was plentiful. Although they didn't have live music, we liked the music playing on the sound system--loud enough to hear, but soft enough that we could make conversation. They have a pasture with sheep and donkeys--so beautiful, and I fell in love with one of the friendly brown sheep. Service: The service is over the top friendly, even when busy. Marcus gave us splashes until we found a couple of wines we preferred, and was very knowledgeable. All of the servers we encountered were very friendly. Wines: My husband found a red he liked (Malbec) and I found a white I liked (Carlo). We prefer glasses rather than tastings, so didn't try the others (except for the splashes that Marcus offered). Food: YES! So many wineries lack when it comes to food (serving pre-made junk), but they have a full kitchen and now a master chef, and their food was delicious (my husband got the empanadas and I got the pizza). Owners: We got to know Sam and Robin, the owners, who were so friendly and gracious. They have worked hard to create not only a great winery, but a great experience for their customers. They told us they are having some upcoming dinner events, so we'll be sure to check one out in the near future.

Beautiful new property with a farm as well. The wine was great and they had a wide variety of whites and reds. They even had some beer to choose from as well as food. My only complaint is they said the inside is for 21+ and the outdoor pavilion is for kids. We had a 3 month old with us and had to sit out under the hot pavilion. From a nurse perspective - babies cannot regulate their temperature and should be allowed inside as they are not disruptive and cannot run around. Even with the shade, outdoor fans, and our fan, my baby was still hot in the Georgia heat. I can understand the rule for toddlers who run around and may get into things, and may enjoy the animals on the farm outside anyways, but not babies. The staff was very friendly to try to make up for the rule but it still was a bit restrictive given the circumstance.

Nestled in North Georgia's wine country, Doghobble Wine Farm has an amazing atmosphere, delicious wine, and incredible service. No matter what the weather, this is a great place to visit with a covered area and fireplaces. While we were there, the owner and multiple staff checked in on us and were very knowledgeable and passionate. This is a wonderful locally owned business to support. It is an approachable winery where I could genuinely hang out all day.

I don't like muscadine wine very much but I tried it here and it was too bad, just very sweet. The place is cute with all the animals but my friend did get stung. They have signs advertising warnings but how can we prevent that? Bathrooms were nice but only two stalls so kind of a wait

Malbec--really good

Friendly, engaging staff. Nice place to get a bottle and sit with my wife. We don't have food and aren't sure there is some normally. I'll saw a good truck so maybe sometimes.

We had a great time at this winery. The people were so friendly, the wines were delicious (our favorite was Norton) and we got to play with the animals! Our kids absolutely had a blast, we came back twice! Thanks for a great experience!

Animals outside

The location and vibe is great. The wine is just terrible. We wanted to like it but on our tour of vineyards in the area these were just not enjoyable at all. We did not try food, just sampled 6 wines for almost $40 most were tossed, could not drink.

Super friendly upon walking up to the outdoor venue . Gave us a full rundown of everything and a few tastes. We decided on the white flight- it was great. We snacked on some food and it was great . So much fun today !

Ask the Community - Doghobble Wine Farm

Is this winery kid friendly?

I don't recall any restrictions against having children. When we visited I believe there was 1-2 couples that had very small babies with them.

I had my crew up from Chattanooga in town, and we couldn't have picked a better spot to celebrate. We kicked things off at the main restaurant for brunch, and honestly, the vibes there never miss. I wanted to keep it a bit lighter since I knew we'd be exploring, so I went with a crisp glass of wine, some fresh focaccia, and the Thai Butternut Squash Soup. That soup was incredible. It was perfectly creamy with just the right kick. Everything hit the table so fast, and the service was on point. My friend even surprised me with a lemon drop cupcake, which was the sweetest touch to a chill afternoon on the patio. After we ate, we headed out for a tour and I was honestly shook by how massive this property is. I've been here before, but I had no idea the trails went back that far. The views are unreal and made for the perfect post-brunch stroll. By the time we finished the trail, we'd worked up a second appetite, so we finally hit up Trattoria di Montaluce. I usually skip it because the brunch normally leaves me stuffed, but I'm so glad we went for it this time. That wood-fired Margherita pizza was easily the best I've had in a minute. There's just something about that wood-fired crust that hits differently! This has seriously been the best birthday month ever, and everyone coming into town to celebrate has made it so special. Of course, I couldn't leave without hitting the gift shop for that coconut scrub. If you know, you know. This stuff makes your hands feel like velvet. It's a total staple. I'm already planning my next trip back to see more of the grounds. Nothing was posted on their website mentioning this fact. We arrived to a deserted winery and after walking around to see what was happening, we were met by a gentleman who worked there, but said that they close every year for Thanksgiving week to visit their family in California, which is where we travelled from. On top of this, a couple weeks earlier, we met their daughter (Jordan Fiorentini, winemaker at Epoch Wines in Paso Robles, CA) and told her that we were going to visit Frogtown during Thanksgiving week, and she also didn't say anything about them being closed. But why on earth have us sample them when they aren't available for purchase? Oh, I know. Join their Citizens Wine Club and get them shipped. And that's the entire focus. They pushed the club to the point we were uncomfortable. Also, the educational push was much. Georgia grapes. California grapes. Swish. Don't swish. Aerate. Don't aerate. Don't refrigerate whites. Yada yada yada. Let folks enjoy their wine any dang way they want. Don't judge. There's no right or wrong. Food? Expensive, but excellent. A sandwich is large enough to split. But there's a $6 split fee because they double the side salad and chips to two plates. That's a mandatory up charge. The small cheese plate was ample. Wines & Food? 5 stars. The hype & push took away the joy of the experience. Unfortunate. These are superb wines. Enjoy them. Just avoid sitting at the bar and the lecture that comes with it.

WINES: Tyler, owner & winemaker, poured for us and provided excellent details on his wines, the winery, and North Georgia winemaking in general. We spoke with him for quite some time, enjoying our shared tastings, and even getting to sample a couple barrel tastings of some upcoming reds. Tyler uses fruit from Georgia, as well as California, Washington, Texas, and more. He offers a wide variety of whites, reds, and dessert wines, including a couple varietals not commonly known to the everyday wine drinker. There are also wine cocktails and mocktails, should you desire something a little different. As I always say when it comes to wines, what I like/dislike may be different than you, so I suggest that you give them a try for yourselves. The quality of Accent's wines was the best we experienced on this trip to the North Georgia Wine Country, and the ambiance and service were fantastic! I highly recommend you check them out.

What a quaint and such fun place tucked away in the mountains! From the time we arrived the staff ( Megan) was beyond welcoming. From the cookies to the champagne it was very special. Our room was perfect! Just what I needed for a get away. Well we went off for dinner for at night and decided to take an Uber since it was New Year's Eve and we were not familiar with the area. When it came time to leave , our uber never showed up! We tried again and again to no avail! Called the one and only taxi in the town and she was unable to give us any definite answer. My last hope was to call the lodge . I felt terrible as it was getting later by the minute. It was their New Year's celebration going on. No one was able to answer so I left a message for their manager Sean hoping at 11:00 anyone would even be there to respond. Not even 5 minutes later Sean sent a text asking if we still needed help . This guy went above and beyond to help us out. He was there within minutes and got us back to the resort in time to celebrate with the other guests to bring in the new year! This place is a gem. We will definitely be back every year! They have covered every little detail here to make it special for each guests. Thank you again Sean for making this trip an awesome time! In summary, what a beautiful setting, excellent service, delicious food, charming drinks, with every one of the staff members (owners included) just waiting to coddle and take care of your every whim and desire. Finding the Lodge the first time was a little challenging but just trust the GPS even though it looks like you're heading onto someone's property, stay on the road until you reach the top. Once there, be prepared to be pampered. The road up is a tad narrow, and when we arrived it was covered in leaves (we hit prime color change/leaf dropping) but it's not bad. The rest of the time the road was well cleared with turn-outs obvious and useful if needed (we didn't need one during travels in and out). We stayed in a room on the 1st floor at the end of the hall with a nice sitting room and patio with a beautiful view of the wooded hillside. The room was nice, fully functional and one nice feature were motion lights under the bed such that if you get up during the night you're not stumbling around to find the bathroom door. Loved that. They have a bar with well made drinks and a nice cozy sitting area with a fireplace and comfortable chairs we used to chat with the staff who helped fine tune our winery stops. They have a 'snack bar' (my term) complete with various snacks, cold drinks, a coffee drink, and freshly made cookies each day. Oh, and they will point out a nice little file box with room numbers with homemade candy that magically appears each afternoon! A delicious and generous breakfast is included that is FAR from the typical powered scrambled eggs, paper thin bacon (you know what I'm talkin' about!). No, this is a freshly made frittata, the best home fries I've ever had, fresh cut fruit and more. Great start to each day! They have an outdoor seating area complete with lights, an abundance of bar height chairs/tables, Adirondack chairs, and fire pits. A great way to spend an evening at sunset sipping your wine/cocktails and talking the evening away. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that we opted for the five-course prix fixe dinner in their large communal dining area known as "Wit & Wisdom". It was a great way to mingle with other guests, share stories, compare winery travels, and just share time and conversation. This alone was worth the price of admission! We added the wine pairing so we went all in, and we felt that we certainly got our money's worth out of it! Kicking it off with an Amuse-Bouche and wrapping up the next five-courses, while they appear small, we were absolutely stuffed when we were done. The wines were outstanding and it turned out to literally be the perfect ending to our glorious stay with owners Tommy & Heather and the entire staff that made sure we were fed, comfortable, and part of the Mountain Top 'family'. As I loaded the pictures, I realize I have to give a shout-out to Topher and the crew in the kitchen! You all demonstrate exceptional service and skill. Well Done!!!
