We are planning on doing some exploring and a tubing trip while here. The owners have a book with all kinds of information and brochures from local businesses! From restaurants and wineries to local shops and events, it's in the book to look over. We're already planning another stay to go to all the things we didn't know we'd want to go to! The home is 2 stories with 3 bedrooms each with a queen bed and large screen TV. The master bedroom has its own bathroom with jacuzzi tub and shower. Full beautiful kitchen and dining room that can seat 6 at the table. I can't recommend Mountain Valley Creek Retreat any more!

The only couple things I didn't like was that they cabins are too close to each other and there ia no privacy. And the other thing was the wall heater was set to a temperature and we couldn't make it warmer. They had a space heater but it was a very cold night and I was still cold inside.

The bed definitely needs new pillows, as the current ones are very lumpy. Upon arrival, the concierge was very welcoming and made a special point to explain how the hotel has a partnership with Paul Thomas Chocolates in Dahlonega. She gave us a coupon that said (and she very explicitly said) it was good for one free piece of chocolate bark *per person* in the party, so my partner and I were entitled to a total of 2 free pieces of chocolate. When we took the coupon to the chocolate shop, the young man working there refused to honor it. He said he had always been told to give one piece of chocolate only. We asked him to read the coupon again because this was not what it stated, nor was it what the concierge said. He still refused. My boyfriend told him that the partnership needed to fix their coupons if they weren't going to honor them. Anyway, the cabin was clean and cozy, and the bed was very comfortable other than the pillows. Sheets were buttery soft. Overall I was happy with our stay.

The confirmation came back for Thursday only. I contacted them, and they said a mistake had been made in the booking process. I booked it at about 1 p.m., and at about 1:40 p.m. I saw the confirmation was wrong. I used the VRBO messaging to communicate with them that this was clearly a mistake, but they would not refund my money because I was outside of the 30-60-day cancellation time period. I asked them to please refund me and I would be happy to book another weekend. They said no, I had to pay $357 for Thursday night. As a senior citizen, I have never been taken advantage of in this way. I am very easy to get along with, and I have no other resort but to warn others that this company is unyielding and want to subject folks to unreasonable policies when it all could have gone differently. I suggest you all to take your business elsewhere. North Georgia Vacation Rentals is not friendly or customer-centered in my experience. All I want is a refund... should be simple.

I was worried it might be too small, but it was just right! I stayed in the loft bedroom's king sized bed and my friend stayed on the queen sized sleeper sofa downstairs. We had perfect timing and got to see the leaves changing color and enjoy the cool weather (being from South Florida these are both unusual!) We cooked some of our meals at the cabin in the well-stocked kitchen. There is a full fridge, stove/oven and a full set of dishes, glasses, cooking utensils and silverware. It got cold enough that we made hot apple cider and lit the wood burning fireplace. It was also nice to have the hot tub to soak in after a day out on the town in the cold. The nearby town of Helen is an adorable Bavarian Alpine Village with great little shops and restaurants. We also drove to nearby Dahlonega to check out the shops and artists there. We were able to go horseback riding at the Sunburst Stables in Clarkesville and we also took a trip to the North Georgia Zoo in Cleveland - I highly recommend both! I can't wait to come back in the summer to enjoy some more outdoor activities like tubing on the Chattahoochee River or boating on Unicoi Lake at Unicoi State Park.
