The property was well appointed and our room named The Vineyard Suite featured the most comfortable bed and sitting area with a spa style bathroom with large walk in shower and claw foot soaking tub. We took advantage of the home cooked Filet Mignon dinner which allowed us to get to know the property and the owners. The meal was delicious and with the homes great room area with soaring windows allowing you to take in the natural surroundings it was perfect! The covered lanai was perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or cup of coffee and watching the humming birds fly around their feeders. Breakfast was another wonderful experience chef style creations and delicious coffees. I highly recommend the bourbon infused one. A short walk across the lawn takes you to their winery, Carin Winery with a comfortable feel, large wrap around porch, large air conditioned space with tables and bar and a great selection of wine, beer and snacks. They even have rooms above the winery space, too. This would make a great place for a family reunion or couples get away. The two weeping willow trees on the property are not only an ideal backdrop but inspire one of their wines also. The location while secluded but is convenient to Ellijay, Amicalola State Park, neighboring wineries, waterfalls and adventures. We'll be back!

We booked the 'Rustic Cabin Suite' which was their lowest price room available at the time, but it was well furnished, comfortable, quiet, and perfect for a place to stay for two. It was quiet, peaceful, and tranquil. Don't forget to take advantage of the Carin winery next door, and I hear (we missed out) the lodge offers an add on steak dinner (plan in advance) that sounds divine, and in that environment, will be on our list for our next visit! The lodge itself is well-appointed with a beautiful seating/gathering/eating area downstairs. Breakfast was great with a menu of French toast and apple bake, sausage, fresh fruit, orange juice and some of the best flavored coffee I've had in a LONG time (bourbon infused pecan). There were so many thoughtful touches, like handcut flowers in a vase, a personalized note from the owner greeting us with our keys, corkscrew, ice bucket, and wine glasses. The owners served breakfast and though did *NOT* REQUIRE masks for Covid protection, they did wear masks and also showed off their extra-disinfectant machine and other anti-Covid preparations that they were taking. VERY affordable for us ~ $130+taxes and fees for 1 Friday night during Covid, I'm not sure if that was a lower price due to quarantine but it was a definite value from our perspective. Nestled in a valley in the North Ga Mts.. This is out in the country and it's a working farm. No mints on your pillows or high tea here...just simple , cozy , and super sized accommodations. Our room is huge, sporting a King size bed and has a working fireplace! Next up "The animals".... Dogs, cats, goats , chickens,llamas, a horse , a few donkeys ,1 camel named Mel and a peacock that's the star if the menagerie. As I mentioned we love animals and this place has got them. We can walk straight up to the barn and pet and feed them carrots and apples. All good. I have no shame in saying that I'm an uptight, city slicking,asphalt loving diva but I do enjoy coming here for a few days , unplugging and getting away from all the traffic ,concrete and my comfort zone.
