If Tuscany and the North Georgia mountains had a love child…read more.. A visit to Montaluce Winery in Dahlonega feels like a little escape to Italy. The winding drive up to the vineyard is breathtaking, and the views only get better from there. Treat yourself to a wine tasting, then enjoy an authentic Italian meal at Trattoria di Montaluce. Reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends. I only stopped by this time, but next visit? I'm staying for golden hour, watching the sunset over the vineyards, and ending the evening with a beautiful dinner.

Gorgeous and dreamy!…read more We came here on a Saturday evening around 7:30pm for our reservation. We didn't realize how grandiose the property was as we drove down a winding path throughout the estate to get to the restaurant. The restaurant was so beautiful. The front area has a gift shop filled with amazing smelling candles featured in their repurposed wine bottles and great sugar scrubs that'll leave your hands as smooth as a baby - they let you sample it in the bathroom. We were escorted to our table that overlooked the patio of the casual restaurant below, the vast vineyard and pond. I couldn't stop looking out there. Overall, our food was delicious but our waiter was super slow. He was nice but quite odd to us and disappeared for several long moments at a time. The dining room was mostly occupied but not entirely packed. I had the Amalfi dream, Greek salad and the shrimp scampi. All was great. The almafi dream was sweet but not too much, it was smooth. The shrimp scampi was so flavorful and cooked well. The Greek salad was such a fresh and flavorful start to our meal. We were celebrating my partner's new job, so I requested for a celebratory dessert for him. It took a while to come out and when it finally did, the ice cream was melted to the point where it looked more like milk floating atop as if it was sitting there for a while until it was served to us. They didn't even say anything or make it special. It was just silently placed on the table - QUITE UNDERWHELMING. It was still very delicious regardless but that diminished the presentation and joy of the moment. Since the food and beverage were quite pleasing along with the ambience, I'd love to come again but to have a more efficient and attentive waiter who wouldn't drag out our dinner for 2+ hours. I'd expect more attentive and focused service at such a nice establishment.

Time on the invitations was 6pm and we were told that set up is at 5pm and we had to be cleaned up and out of the doors by 9pm. We obviously show up at 4:30 to prepare unloading and 5pm comes around and the owner "Chad" is no where to be seen. The bride, groom, myself, and multiple other attendees that arrived early to assist with set up were unable to reach the owner. At 5:45p what appeared to be a highly intoxicated "Chad" opened the doors, made a sarcastic joke, and left. I was APPALLED! We were left 15 minutes to decorate a wedding (tables, chairs, photobooth, bar, food, dance floor, music, etc.) and because of the owner we lost time of the reception because we were left with 15 minutes. I read in a review that the owner refunded $200 and played this off on his mother. Taking accountability. You quite literally ruined my best friends reception and you want to give her a half-a** apology and not even half back what she paid for the amount of stress she was put through. There was a clear contract and it was breached. Highly do NOT recommend! Also all the lighting fixtures on the columns are different hues and colors and do not make for uniform photos. The owner was late and the venue was underwhelming and the owners response to everything is almost worse!

Contrary to the other review posted, the Dahlonega Market Place is a great place for a wedding…read morereception. Chad is super helpful and easy to work with. Yes, there is a staircase and no, the kitchen is not ideal for a caterer to work in but these should not be deal breakers. My caterer is very good and handled it just fine. We did not have our daughters wedding ceremony in the Market Place, but I trust if we had Chad and his crew would have repurposed the room quickly and efficiently. He DOES have a contract. He always answered my emails within minutes, I was never once stressed dealing with him. FYI, we served a buffet for 137 guests and the size of the room was perfect!
