For a grille and bar place, it was good. My wife's burger was humongous and she couldn't even finish it. I had the all beef hot dog. The sauerkraut was really good and the roll was toasty. The "German" potato salad I ordered had bacon and was actually very good, although it reminded me of an au gratin dish. Service was great. I had an Arnold Palmer and our host brought me the pitcher... cause I was very thirsty at the time. The environment is great. There is outdoor and indoor seating.... I always enjoy going Helen but find great restaurants seems to be a challenge. Either the food is under-seasoned or just not cooked well. This place was beyond disappointing. The food almost tastes freezer burned and the burger I had felt fake and dense. The only food that felt edible were the onion rings. I would come for drinks only but there are so many cool bars in Helen I probably won't be back. Points to the extremely nice and bubbly waitress. She took great care of us and made us feel welcome. If you're looking for quick drinks with an outdoor setting that has great people watching than this would be a fun place to start the night or after an extremely drunken night where the taste of food doesn't matter much. read more

The waitress said that he would get a t shirt as the prize because they were out of steins, and since she said he could keep the cup he had his beer in anyway, it seemed like a good deal. When he was ordering she made it seem like the fries were optional, and he even asked if it was necessary for completing the challenge, to which she didn't provide a clear answer. When my husband finished his burger but not the fries, that's when she informed him he needed to for the prize, so he pushed through and forced them down...just for them to be out of t shirts and give him another cup! Came here starving while in the area. I ordered a side salad and the sausage platter that came with three different types of wurst with sauerkraut and potatoes. Confusing at first, but really glad I stayed, because it turned out great. At first I was told the kitchen was closed, but I could sit outside on the patio with my dog & have a drink. I ordered a grapefruit beer which was divine, excellent. Then the waitress said they changed their minds & reopened the kitchen. They had been slammed earlier, ran out of some items. People were all super nice & friendly, lots of great dogs on the patio. Chili was really great & filling. I got full & couldn't finish it. Great portion. Shredded cheese, but no sour cream. This place is so laid back and comfy. The most relaxed I've been while having a great meal. We had a BLT that was delicious. The bacon was thick and crispy and so good. I ordered the german potato salad and it was so good I had to stop myself from eating it all. We also ordered an appetizer of potatoes pancakes and they were so much better than the ones we had earlier this week. Our server was so sweet and didn't mind us taking up her table for way too long. Service was extremely slow. We had a party of 9 and I think every single person had something either wrong or missing from their orders. (And our server wrote everything down) Wrong size beers were brought, fries were cold, items and condiments that were included in the dishes were not there. It took forever to get everything we needed (even things like ketchup and mustard had to be asked for twice) THEN several of the tickets were incorrect when our server brought the bills. The service was fine (nothing over the top, but not horrible at all), the ambiance is that of a biker bar, and our food was just disgusting. My husband ordered a brat and onion rings - that was the one decent meal. He enjoyed it. My daughter and I ordered the chicken fritters and a basket of fries to share. The crinkle cut fries resembled something out of a bag from the grocery store that were lightly cooked and uncharged $6. The chicken fritters were by far the nastiest I've ever seen. I'm not sure we even ate chicken. They were hard and rubbery - maybe over cooked, maybe awful quality chicken. Regardless neither of us could stomach eating them. My son ordered the kids Mac n cheese. The noodles were fine - the glopped on these looked reheated from 3 days ago. I think he lasted 4 bites and was done. We waited about five minutes to get seated inside. Our waitress took about 10 minutes to come and get our drink and food order. Drinks took around 5 min, food 20 minutes. We didn't talk to our waitress again for probably an hour after getting our food. We tried to get her attention but all she did was apologize and kept talking to the table she was dealing with. After another 10 minutes of not being able to just get our check, we left and closed out at the bar. The food was just okay, which made for a bad experience when the service was horrible. we stop here during Oktoberfest. it is a good place to hear live music, get a drink (including whiskey for this non-beer drinker) and get some German food. we noticed some places dont have the German food we look for at Oktoberfest and this place has it. I ordered one of their draft German beers served in a 32 ounce souvenir mug. For the main course, we shared the Crockpot Potato Soup and Krainerwurst Platter, which came with Sauerkraut, German Potato Salad, and a Pretzel Roll. Both items were fabulously delicious. Our server was on point and friendly. Two Tire offers free parking to patrons in the rear of the restaurant. My recent visit to Two Tire Tavern in Helen, GA was marred by a deeply troubling experience. Not only did the establishment overcharge my friends a whopping $21 for just two shots, but what's even more disheartening is the apparent racial discrimination we encountered. To add insult to injury, they didn't even provide us with our rightful change. I strongly urge the management of Two Tire Tavern to reflect on their actions and ensure that all customers are treated fairly and with respect. My hope is that sharing this experience will raise awareness about the issue and lead to positive change. I am heartbroken and brings shame to the community of Helen and bikers alike. Went here the weekend of August 5th. Strange vibe. As soon as you walk up to the entrance you immediately feel unwelcome. They have a huge sign out front with a passive aggressive message about not seating yourself. The frustration really shows through. Whoever wrote the sign is harboring some real resentment toward customers. As we were eating lunch we overheard a heated discussion between 2 employees. I couldn't tell if it was an argument or not but I heard one man say "only idiots come in here". We were seated in the back by a wooden trellis type of wall so we could hear their loud voices over the live music. The poor servers were running around like crazy and apologizing for the slow service. This place seemed overwhelmed, understaffed and annoyed that they were actually attracting customers. Skip this place. There is so much more to choose from. read more

We decided to have an early dinner at this location during a rainy Sunday. We made it just in time to avoid a downpour, and not many people after us. Normally it's a biker bar, but not today. We were greeted by a nice waitress and hostess, gave the order for potato pancakes appetizer and listened to one of the worst guitar duos imaginable. We then ordered a cheesesteak sandwich, potato soup, warm potato salad and a small pretzel to share. It was the first time to try warm potato salad, which has a vinegary taste and we won't try again. If it wasn't raining cats and dogs we would not have stayed so long. The guitar players asked for requests, but they played none of suggestions given. We were in Helen for the weekend and loved this place, stopped in Friday morning for a Bloody Mary and they were the best we had all weekend. After riding the Tail of the Dragon Saturday we stopped in after dinner for a drink and met Emily our waitress and if you go defiantly ask for her. We also met Dan the owner and met more of the family that works there including Emily his daughter. Sunday was our last day and Dan had mentioned live music on Sunday's so we decided to go there after brunch. We really wanted to like this place. The food was actually pretty good. The owner/management really need to work on the service though. I know it's tough when you're understaffed but you can't just sit and wait for people to apply in this day and age. You need to go out and recruit and maybe even increase the pay. As an owner/Manager you should chip in and help out when it's busy. Train your staff to work better or let them go. You can't keep bad employees because you think it's better than nothing. 1. We stood in line for 20 minutes while we saw many tables empty. Only two waitresses and one bartender. One waitress was running around working her butt off. The other waitress was strolling around at a snails pace. Unfortunately we got the snail. 2. Understanding that we probably only had one shot at placing our order before our waitress disappeared on us for 30 minutes, we were prepared. Waitress spoke very softly, almost timid, but our drinks came out fairly quick. 3. We asked to turn the heater on and she responded with something unintelligible. It was never turned on. 4. We had a group of 4. After about 10 minutes 1 sandwich came out. Waitress whispered that she was getting the other food. 10 more minutes go by and the waitress returns to inform us that she forgot to put our order in. So we had to tell her what we ordered again. Not sure how you write everyone's order on one ticket and 3 out 4 meals get lost. 5. They take one of the meals off the ticket without us even asking. It wasn't necessary. We still tipped her well. It looked like the people at the bar were well taken care of. So if you can sit at the bar you're probably going to be ok. The problem is management. Instead of responding to "Karen's" reviews online, they should be getting their hands dirty and helping out. They always have an excuse for everything. But they never do anything to fix the problem. The place is always full and half the reviews are great. So I guess maybe they think that's good enough. read more

We had lunch here today. My husband and son both ordered burgers and I ordered a Reuben sandwich. The pastrami on the Reuben was so tough and chewy that it was gross. We dined here in between lunch and dinner. Restaurant was not super busy and service was just ok. I ordered the Ruben which was equally as ok as the service was. The pastrami was very tough which made the sandwich even messer than you would expect. At one point I decided to just disassemble it since picking it up was not working well however it was even difficult to cut with the plastic utensils that were provided (that's how tough the pastrami was). The fries however were very good - cooked perfectly. I ordered a drink which didn't arrive at the table until our meal was almost done (I had to request the drink a second time so the server clearly forgot). My husband had a brat sandwich which he enjoyed and looked tasty. My son and his gf ordered cheese fries to share. They came with chili, large order with plenty for 2 and they reported they were very good. The part that turned me off to this place was their checkout process, if paying with a credit card. The server didn't provide an actual itemized receipt and just put the card reader in front of me. I went to take the card reader so I could check out and she said "no I'll hold it" and then watched as I selected the tip. Although you can customize the tip and put less than the 18% or 20% recommendations, it's sort of awkward with her clearly watching what I select. If I was thinking on my feet I would have put no tip and left cash. There's a lot of great places to dine in Helen so I won't be returning to this place. read more
