We were visiting from out of town. Stopped to grab a bite. Sat and waited for our food for well over 25minutes. We had to go inside to check the status of our order. once our server finished her conversation with another server, only then did she come over to speak with us. Once it was confirmed, our order was NOT ready (after waiting 27 minutes), she asked "do yall still want it?" Unprofessional, deportment and demeanor were deplorable. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! I tried the boss cocktail that's close to an old fashioned; and had the bruschetta which was average; big kahuna flatbread without the bacon, and with their awesome Hiawassee hot sauce (garlic). The first thing you notice when approaching the restaurant and or sitting on the outside patio is the excessive volume of the music on the porch. It's WAAAAAYyyyyyyy too loud. We moved tables ASAP when another outdoor table closer to the road on the elevated porch when it became available and it was better. There was a great breeze and even with the street "noise" it was a good option with summer temps of 87F at midday. Wait time was about 15-20 minutes from order until food delivery. Overall it was an average meal We ordered the pressed Cuban sandwich ($14) with a side of fruit. The options for sides are breakfast potatoes, fresh fruit or chips . The other person in my party ordered the club sandwich and added avo (+$1.50) also with fruit for $16. Overall the meal was ok but as with many things these days it feels overpriced for what you get. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Hiawassee. Met a Friend in there for lunch today and had the worst experience ever. Waitress took our order but didn't write it down. I ordered a BLT and wound up with a club. The waitress then never came back around to check on our food so that I could tell her that I didn't get a club and wanted to BLT so I just ate the club. It was just a mediocre club. Later on, I ordered the chicken and waffles off of the tapas menu. The waffles were extremely sweet and the chicken was overdone and dry. The sauce didn't have any creativity to it just honey mixed with what tasted like store-bought buffalo sauce. When the server asked if I liked the chicken and waffles and I said no, no discount was offered, I barely ate any of it and should have been compt. I read the rave reviews and couldn't wait to try Tilted Café! It was 4:15 pm on a Saturday & not too busy. Atmosphere 5/5 LOVED the decor! Retro arcade games, beautiful booths, tables and outdoor seating and a killer Halloween theme. Where else can you find a skeleton DJ? I couldn't stop snapping pics! Prices 2/5 Where do I start? They were out of 1/3 of the items on the limited menu and ALL of the specials. There's an upcharge for credit & debit cards and although a small sign was brought to my attention AFTER I got my receipt, it should be mentioned beforehand. I'd have gladly used cash! Lastly, $15 for a flatbread I only ordered cause they were out of what I actually wanted? It better be phenomenal! It wasn't.. Service 2/5 Slow. My to-go order took 45 minutes! There wasn't a hack (like in another review) or a crowd. Worse yet, I wasn't offered an update, an apology or a glass of water! I checked on my food 3x. If I hadn't prepaid I'd have left. When I finally asked for a manager he was kind and apologetic. He said they were short-staffed & I appreciated the complimentary fruit salad & local tips. Food 2/5 Underwhelming. The Cali chicken flatbread was filling but I couldn't taste the pesto or bacon. The chicken was dry & lacked flavor. Maybe if it had been smoked or BBQ? It needed a kick! What a super cool spot. I adore playing games and there were walls of video games to play. It's a fun clean hip friendly atmosphere. They had honey to add to my coffee which I love and our sandwiches were delicious. I only gave four stars because a family with two small kids excited to be there and play games arrived around 215. They close at 3 o'clock and turned them away because they were running out of food. That really sucked. They could've said our food is limited, but this is what we have the choices yours instead of just turning them away. I thought that was really sad. Hopefully they learned their lesson and won't let that happen again. The family hung around and played a few games and went to the bathroom and the little girl asked as they were leaving... Why are we leaving? Just didn't leave a good taste in my mouth. Have extra. It's not like we were in Alaska and it was the end of the season. This place has a great vibe! They have arcade games inside and even their bathrooms are themed arcade. They have a nice outdoor patio for dining. We are brunch here. This is one of the only restaurants open on Sundays. Their Bloody Mary is delish! I highly recommend! I got their quiche with breakfast potatoes, my mom got the T and I asked for a piece of cake for my moms birthday. When I asked if they had a candle I got the reply, "we don't do that here." Staff were very friendly, however had a ton a tattoos including the face, kinda distracting, if you care about that sort of thing. Went for breakfast. Took over 30 min to receive the waffle and the corn beef hash. Didn't really come by at all for coffee refills or anything, and had barely any stock of cream or sugar which we thought was weird. The place was busy, but seemed like a simple meal to wait that long for and when we did get it, mine was cold (potatoes were literally barely warm, but the egg was warm). Seemed like it had been sitting for a while or something. Really wanted to like this place, it has potential and is cute, but we did not love the food and lack of coming by the table (although when they did, like I said, they were very nice). read more

So I decided to give the Tilted Cafe a try, but we have seven dogs so I had to get it to go. Maybe they prepare food eaten in the restaurant differently or better?! I ordered the Rueben and potato salad as the side. Picked up my order and drove straight home (only 8 miles). Yes, the dogs were happy to see me back so soon and hadn't destroyed anything, yet. I fixed a beverage and sat down to eat, opened the container and saw a squished and soggy sandwich that at first I questioned whether it was a full sized sandwich. At the price I had paid I definitely expected more and toasted rye bread, not a soggy squishy mess. The potato salad was pretty bland and also a minute' portion. I guess this would be a good place to keep going to if I want to drop weight?! Totally disappointed and this is a "ONE AND DONE!" As far as service it was quick, but the place only had two other tables to serve. As far as ambiance, it has video games lining the wall, a counter with seats and a few tables setup booth style. We've been dreaming about the cheese grits since stumbling onto this gem about 3 months ago. Finally made it back yesterday and arrived just before opening to join the long line of people waiting. We got a table and were prepared for a wait while the kitchen caught up with the hungry crowd. Such a cool space! My son was ecstatic to find all of the 17 or so arcade games! And they're all free to play!! That was awesome to discover! We parked up front, walked in. We stood there a minute, unsure of whether we were to just sit or wait to be seated. Lol still kind of unsure . The place has great decore and design! They did well w that! We went at an off time- about 2:30p on a saturday. A few people in there, and many more came as we were leaving, around 4ish. I could see it getting popular in the evening. They have a full bar that looks nice! With great bar seating. They had a decent menu of foodie sandwiches, salads, flatbreads, desserts, etc. I ordered the southwestern grilled chicken sandwich thing on ciabatta bread- was good but a bit sauce overload for me. Chose side of chips. My son ordered the grilled Turkey, Brie cheese, sliced green apple, bacon sandwich (he held the tomato and arugula, and sweet walnut sauce- all sounded good to me tho!). The sandwich was MASSIVE. Like he couldn't put his mouth over it lol. Loaded w Turkey and apples... huge portion. Lol. He got his w fruit. Great fresh melon chunks. I saw others flatbreads and salads looked great. And their tomato soup too! Saw some yummy cheesecakes go by... The arcade games were fun, and perfect for antsy kids to go play while waiting for food. Or for parents and friends to talk while kids played. Love that concept!! Fun for everyone! What a great spot in this area! Sam was attentive and on point. The choices are solid and our food was super tasty. Husband got pear salad with chicken. He loved it and got 2 great homemade dressings- avocado and blue cheese. I very much enjoyed the lemon aioli chicken panini and added some great ranch, yum! There's lots to try here, great atmosphere and people even chat you up. If you like 80s style video games they have quite a few. We will be back when we are in the area, this is the best option we have found on our regular day trips here. read more
