Bratwurst and chips
Allison M.

We came around 1 pm on a Tuesday in March, so we weren't expecting much. You can tell that this would be a fun place when the weather is nice and people are on the river. We had the Bratwurst, Pretzel Bites, and Fried Pirogies. The Pretzel Bites were delicious. They were perfectly chewy but also crispy. The cheese sauce was the best. The Bratwurst was also good, get the chips as the side. The Fried Pirogies were not that great. The consistency was very floppy. I wouldn't get them again

Great karaoke, and cold beer on the river. It also serves food but we didn't eat at this time.A fun evening for The Working Man Review.

I'll start off by saying this restaurant had a great view and plenty of outdoor seating. The service was okay. The waitress came promptly to our table to take our orders. After receiving our orders she only came back once to check-in, which was fine since we didn't need anything. Now to the food....the food was very bland. The table doesn't have any condiments on it nor does it have salt and pepper. So if you want to add anything you have to ask. My fries came out hot and tasted fine, however the shrimp lacked flavor and had a breading on it that I did not prefer. My parents stated that their flounder was a small portion and lacked flavor as well. We all ended up having leftovers because we didn't enjoy the taste. Next time, I'd skip this place and try something else.

Cute place, great location off the river. Had brats and chips. The brat was big, juicy and very tasty. Sitting on the deck you overlook the river and see the tubers coming down the river. The service was great, our server very friendly. We also had a dog and they are very dog friendly. Don't miss stopping for a great brat and a beer!

NOT the most AMAZING choices of beer, or food. Food is dive bar level. BUT, the service and views are on point!!! Reasonable prices... for Helen. Expect EVERYTHING in Helen to be overpriced for basic b!tch food. #facts Real talk tho... KARAOKE NIGHT is fun A.F. especially with the river seating!

Came here for a snack and a drink before dinner. It did not disappoint. The drinks were strong and fairly priced. Ordered the pierogis for the snack and they weren't bad. Had good flavor and were just the right amount of crispiness! Service was pretty good. The service/bartender was really nice! The music was good and the location was great! Seating available right on the river!

When I saw the price for the veggie burger I figured it must be homemade, nope, frozen patty and definitely not worth $19. The fries and tater tots were good and a pretty view overlooking the water but way overpriced for what you get.

First time in Helen, several places offered similar menus so we just stopped here. There's a beautiful view of the Chattahoochee river from the deck. Food was nothing special. I didn't enjoy it much but the food was definitely fresh and hot though. Our server was very nice as well offering some recommendations on their beer. I'd say pricing is moderate, we spent about $50 but there is a "destination fee" along with another tax on there.

Pretzel bites and the Alpine Bowl

It was an alright experience. It's located right next to the bridge so you can people watch while others are tubing down the river. It's a quick place to stop if you don't feel like waiting and need a quick meal. The salad wasn't awful. Pub fries were good. I wasn't a fan of the beer cheese unfortunately. The chicken tenders were not the greatest. Our waiter was really nice and funny. If you're looking for German food, this isn't the place. This is just good ole bar food if that's what you're in the mood for.

Bad experience. Waitress did not have a good attitude and food was over cooked / dry.

Really good little spot right on river in downtown. Service was great, and view of tubers/river was cool.

This was my fourth time here, and I always bring someone new and everyone always leaves impressed. We ordered the Schweinehaxe, a traditional German dish, and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. It's definitely something I always go for when I visit because it's a must-try here. One of my friends was seriously impressed. We also had the mashed potatoes, which were very tasty, and one of my friends ordered the meatloaf and loved it. Overall, the food is very authentic, with plenty of traditional German options to choose from. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. There was even live music, which made the experience even better. Another highlight is the view, the restaurant sits right by the river, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place. It's definitely one of those spots you keep coming back to and want to bring new people to.

Jamie was an excellent server--friendly, attentive, and spot-on with recommendations. I decided to try the Rahm Schnitzel, and it was outstanding. My wife chose the Jäger Schnitzel, and it was just as fantastic. If you're visiting Helen, GA, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Bodensee Restaurant - Chicken Schnitzel and Spatzle was perfect for lunch on a very cold day. I ordered the lunch portion which was perfect.

It's enough for 4 people but the two of us went to town. I most recommend the garlic wurst and the gypsy pork for flavor but if you've never had rouladen then Bodensee's is great and authentic. As usual for me, the German sides steal the show. The purple cabbage, spatzele, and potato salad were perfect. The Erdinger Dunkle and francshicanner (sp?) were excellent drink pairings. I took a picture of the huge tray that came out to the neighboring table as well as our sampler on our table. Service was quick, thorough, and helpful for any questions. Definitely going here for German again!

What was once a quaint spot with outstanding service and mouthwatering food now feels like just another restaurant. The atmosphere was fine and the service was still good, but the food didn't live up to our previous experience. We both ordered schnitzel--mine with Jäger gravy and my wife's with Gypsy gravy. Mine was decent, but hers was noticeably different from what she remembered. She had really been looking forward to it and ended up quite disappointed. It wasn't a bad meal, but it definitely didn't recapture what made our first visit so memorable.
