Any reviews of the car we were walking by the public restrooms and noticed that there was a substantial beer selection on top at this little restaurant right behind the restrooms. This little brewpub is nestled right along the edge of the river where you can enjoy watching tubers. It was a very welcoming environment. We were able to set up tables for our group to enjoy dinner and beverages. It has a decent menu but most everything is fried. It is fried well, however. But if you're looking for some authentic German food, the Brotz that we had were over cooked and there was a little bit burnt flavor in the sauerkraut. The jalapeño poppers were good. The pickle spears were excellent. The steamed pierogies were lackluster and flavor less. I think the pretzel bites were my favorite out of all of the appetizer selections that we've got. The homemade chips are a nice touch but nothing exceptional. They had a nice cocktail menu. I think it was a little overpriced for what you received. Many of their beers that they advertised, they were out of stock. That was quite disappointing as we were coming for some German beers in Helen, which is rich with heritage and aesthetics. Then there was the overall atmosphere. While the view was amazing if you were able to sit at the edge at the bar, the rest of it was basically just an outdoor dining room with a cover. Where we were sitting, there was absolutely no airflow. They could stand do use some fans in that area. Overall everything was edible but the price point was exorbitant for the quality that we got. Would I go back again? It depends. With the waitress gave me the wrong beer, she brought me the correct beer and wine in my partially drunk beer to go to a gentleman. I had just met that day. With my spit on the cup and all. I would say if I went back to hell and I would try another spot. There's too many options with the same view. read more

Sara, we hope you're reading this. We went to this establishment last night. Had a great time and didn't hear one complaint. We came back the next day, let me buy a beer before kicking us out. When we asked why she couldn't keep her story straight. She said my kids were showing their butts which did not happen. And none of the other servers that were there all night long knew what she was talking about. She then told us we were smoking weed. And then went on to say it's because we left garbage on the table. We left so confused because she told each one of us something different. The service itself was awful. And with no warning we got the boot. We are all super unhappy and she told us if we can't remember that's our problem. I have an underage kid who wasn't drinking and was brought a drink by an employee. Don't waste your time here unless you want to be accused of something you did not do. read more

Two stars for the beautiful location, beer selection and staff; they were great. The food, however, was revolting. My daughter barely touched her chicken tenders and my Alpine tater tots left me feeling sick all afternoon. My wife said her incredibly expensive hotdog was just ok. Location was perfect! right on the river, watching tubers attempt to stay afloat was quite comical. Aline Brew Dock is a walk up and order place. Menu prices were steep ($13 for a Bratwurst and tots) but it is a tourist town. We had Brats and pretzels. i will say, it was on point. Food was cheap products and overpriced. The chicken tenders and burger both seemed like they come frozen in a large quantity bag, then dropped into a fryer or skillet when ordered. Their standard side is tater tots (which are also very cheap and come frozen in large quantity bags), and you have to pay a premium upcharge for anything else. If you need silverware it all comes as individually-wrapped plasticware (so much trash!). The food was definitely not worth what they charge at all. The place's saving grace was the environment. Stopped in for beer and fried pickles. Really good dipping sauces including sweet chilli, honey Mustard bar-b-que and ranch. The pickles were fried crispy and crunchy, the sauces were tangy and smooth. The view was fun and it was very relaxing just watching people float by on their intertubes. read more

This is a great deck to stop by and have some delicious food in Alpine Helen, GA. They offer exquisite brews and chews with views. They have a few picnic tables and a long bar top facing the river. You order everything from at the center stand and they call you up to get you food. They impressed me with their lightning fast service. I thought the space was quite clean and great for people who like open air. FOOD... was so good I can't wait to go back, everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. I highly recommend the tots but the Mac and cheese had this sensational flavor that was like harm heat that wasn't spicy but left the mouth craving more. The burgers were the perfect portion so not to spill out after every bite yet still taste every ingredient. *Dog are welcome* ! Side note there is parking just behind the restaurant off river street but you have to pay. read more

Just spent a weekend in Helen during Oktoberfest and I think this was our favorite spot! They are one of a few places in town situated right along the river. It's really neat to sit there and listen to the water; I imagine in the warmer months it would be fun to see all the people tubing. Aside from the prime location it has a cool vibe. It reminds me of a snack bar.. walk up and order a beer, if you order food they call your name out over the loudspeaker. There are a few picnic tables and along the side right next to the river is a wooden counter with a bunch of bar stools. The majority of the deck is covered. I do wish that they had a bigger menu, but I understand. There are just a few appetizer type items, plus a burger, chicken sandwich, etc. I would like more variety of items and something that is a little more special and unique. FYI - At least right now in 2021 the 32oz. refillable beer mugs that you can get/use all over town.. theirs is purple! I wish I had known, I would have gone to Alpine Brew Deck first to get one. read more

The atmosphere is the best thing going for this place. It's a nice patio overlooking the river with a laid back vibe. The food was ok, definitely not worth the inflated prices. We had the veggie burgers, jalepeno poppers, and mac n cheese bites. Our daughter did not like the breading on the mac n cheese bites and peeled it off to just eat the pasta. Our big issue, however, was the service and it's why we'll not be going back or recommending this place to our clients. The issues were so many that Google won't even give me the character space to describe them in detail so briefly... 1. Host sat us (with a child) far away from the patio heaters when other tables were available. 2. Host cleaned food from previous guests off our table with our menus then handed them to us. Did not wipe table down. 3. Our server (Kayla) told us they didn't have the standard side so we'd have to order salad or chips... and then charged us extra for it. 4. My mom asked for fries then instead but was told she could not have them unless she ordered the fish, forcing her into one of the aforementioned alternate sides. 5. Server brought out an appetizer that we ordered as a main meal early, despite being told we wanted to eat it as a meal with everyone else. She just shrugged, said sorry, and walked away. 6. Our server brought our vegetarian daugher chicken fingers instead of mac n cheese bites. Luckily, we caught it just before she took a bite as that would have made her very sick. 7. Server found out that they did still have the standard side, brought it out for my daughter but not for the rest of us (didn't even ask if we wanted it instead of the forced upgrade) until my mom insisted. My wife wasn't going to eat the side due to her diet regardless of what it was so she just didn't say anything (but they still charged us for the upgraded side that we niether wanted nor needed). 8. My wife's burger only had 1/2 a tomato slice (literally, cut right in half) but when we asked for one whole slice instead, were told the cooks knew exactly which burger it was and that we could not have any more tomatoes because they were running low. 9. Server asked us to pay before showing us an itemized receipt, then forced us to leave a high tip for bad service. Only AFTER payment, was the receipt shared with us, which then gave the manager the perfect excuse to not refund any of our money (because the payment had already been made). 10. The manager, Robbie, started interrupting me before I even finished going over the first issue. Was more interested in excuses than listening. Did ultimately apologize for this, however, he also immediately discarded 6 of the 9 issues above by saying he really only sees 3 issues. 11. Robbie's solution was to give us a bunch of coupons that we told him we could never use because we live in Florida and don't know when or if we'll ever come back. Save the hassle and go somewhere with better food and better service. read more

The food was way overpriced for being frozen food that they just threw in the fryer (i.e. Frozen burger patties, frozen Tyson boneless wings, etc) and the ranch was sour. This place is absolutely a tourist trap. If you want way better food for the same price with just as awesome of a view, definitely go to the Troll Tavern. read more

Can barely remember being here, but that's what made it such a good time! We went here first (intending to bar hop Oktoberfest) but ended up staying 'til last call. The drinks were flowing and the karaoke was popping. While they didn't have any ciders, they had some amazing sours that made up for it. Excellent snacks, too! Highly recommend the pretzel bites. Our waiter/bartender/BEST karaoke singer of the night, Tempest (what a cool name???), took care of us that night. Her wit and sarcasm were so appreciated! Exactly the kind of attitude you're looking for at a place like this. Of course, my group got in on the karaoke fun, and REALLY got the crowd going with their cover of "I Want it That Way" by Backstreet Boys. First we waited 30 min which honestly was not a big deal to us as we are on vacation and don't mind chilling. However, once our server came, and we placed our orders... She was obviously in a hurry... I'm sure they were busy... But still....we felt rushed then... She then proceeded to ask for our ID saying it is Helen's law. Funny, that may be true however, we have not been asked that yet. I travel light. I did not have my wallet on me, so nor my ID, but it is quite evident that I am beyond the age of 21 lol she apologized after making us wait as long as she did and then said sorry I can't serve you. I asked for the manager surprisingly not so surprisingly there was no manager available! Lol, I wondered why this place was not as busy as the one directly across the street under the bridge no I know. This place is absolutely fantastic. My boyfriend and I came up to Helen with our dog and had a lot of trouble finding a dog friendly spot with a view of the river. Thankfully, we found Alpine Brew Deck our first night. The whole staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We didn't even have to ask for a water bowl for our fur baby! We have come back every day of our vacation and I can easily say that the best part of the entire experience was our waitress, Sabrina. She was so sweet with us and especially our puppy. (He may have preferred to go home with her over us). We will ABSOLUTELY be back. Great bar food, great scenery, and incredible service. What more could you ask for at a restaurant? read more

Perhaps the very worst restaurant I have ever been to. The $18 burger was a single patty squished as thin as a sheet of leather, and cooked to the dried out texture of leather. Totally disgusting dry inedible. The $12 perogi was 4 frozen Sysco dough balls worth maybe a buck. Two beers. Two inedible burgers and four sticky dough balls cost $110 with tax and tip. This use to be a great spot to grab a drink and watch the water with bar stools facing the river. The counter service method was simple and efficient. You grab your drink & walk over to sit down. Now they force you to have a server. This only complicates maters with unknowledgeable staff, clunky service, and split checks.
