Perhaps the very worst restaurant I have ever been to. The $18 burger was a single patty squished as thin as a sheet of leather, and cooked to the dried out texture of leather. Totally disgusting dry inedible. The $12 perogi was 4 frozen Sysco dough balls worth maybe a buck. Two beers. Two inedible burgers and four sticky dough balls cost $110 with tax and tip. If you go to this restaurant, you are out of your mind... like I was. DONT DO IT. read more

This use to be a great spot to grab a drink and watch the water with bar stools facing the river. The counter service method was simple and efficient. You grab your drink & walk over to sit down. Now they force you to have a server. This only complicates maters with unknowledgeable staff, clunky service, and split checks. My party had a good experience at this outdoor tavern. We sat at a picnic table next to the water and watched the tubers float down the river while we ate. Finger foods and beers is what you can expect here. Our party of 7 ate for about 130.00 total. It's not cheap but is probably some of the better food I've had around Helen. They also had a guitarist outside playing mellow tunes during lunch. It's a pretty cool spot, I'd go again! read more

It was a great place to sit and eat by the river. Wife and I had the alpine burger she had the tater tots and I had the fries which was a different shape but very well seasoned. Burgers were real good. My son had the kids chicken fingers basket. He had no problem eating all 4 fingers. Staff was friendly. Music a little loud. read more

Ok I would love to give this place more stars as the location is perfect to watch the river. However, the burger was so undercooked it didn't even melt the cheese. The tots were over seasoned. The hotdog with kraut and the sidewinder fries were pretty good. The did recook our order and it was a better temperature. read more

Keep in mind this is bar food - so don't expect 5 star upscale food here. The location is awesome - right on the water, but it was hard to find (located behind the restroom). I don't think it has a parking area either. We got some wings and salad, both were very good. My children had chicken tenders and tater tots, definitely looked and smelled very good. Ate here on a Friday evening. Had Nathan's hotdog with kraut, Tator tots. Chicken fingers, potato dumplings and hamburger.. Basic bar food really, but they allow dogs on the patio, view of the river and music.. fun atmosphere right in the middle of it all. They provided water bowl for dogs. The food was alright, I enjoyed my alpine burger and my tots were danm good. We also ordered the fries which were pretty decent. I didn't like how all the condiments came in packets including the sour cream, just extremely annoying having to squeeze ketchup out of packets. Everyone else in my party complained so thats why I'm giving 3 stars. There was no wait and we got seating by the water which was nice. But it was completely bar food and probably not even the best bar food. The staff was on point and were very professional so I don't believe it has anything to do with them. I just feel bad for people that have to work for owners that are serving food that doesn't meet the standards of the area. I hope they step it up and do better! read more

Me and my wife come to Helen all the time and decided to come to this new location to see what they had to offer. We were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to a table and gave instructions on how to order, etc. The food was good, but a little pricey for what was offered, BUT thats expected in a tourist town so no big deal. I am leaving only 2 stars for a couple of reasons. I notice that the manager only responds to reviews that make the business look good. Thats not a good business model and you should work to make it better however you can. Another reason is I dont really understand this restaurant's COVID safety guidelines. Face masks were worn but only 1 person wearing gloves? Hard Plastic Cups used for drinks, but no beer pints. Wine glasses okay though? Haha I don't understand. If one is okay why isn't the other? Other than that it was okay. Me and my wife would most likely return. There's obviously a lot of work still needed but I believe this business will be very known! We spent a day at Helen and we absolutely love this spot! One of the few pet-friendly restaurants in town and it's great to see how interactive the manager was with all the customers. He even offered a bowl of water for our dog! Their food tasted fresh and the dining deck has a nice view of the river and the bridge. read more
