This place was a nice place to stop for my friend and I during my visit to her town. There was a chance of rain but we still wanted to sit outside and we're glad we did. Even with a few sprinkles here and there it was a nice ambiance for friends to catch up and get lunch. My friend ordered the fish sandwich and both of us were surprised on the size of it! I had the French dip sandwich and it was a nice size and I also loved the French fries they came with! The server was super sweet, I just wish she would have came around a little more often. We ordered the kids Mickey Mouse pancake with scrambled eggs and bacon, Philly cheesesteak with fries, club sandwich with sweet potato fries and a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. This is a cute mom and pop that I had a good meal at years ago. So we went for breakfast. Everything was super under seasoned. Seriously tasted like they boiled everything. Grits were the most bland. Very welcoming atmosphere and we were quickly seated at 6:30pm. Our server, Peyton, came over quickly and was very attentive during our meal. A lady who appeared to be a manager also checked on us a few times. The drinks were reasonably priced and did not taste watered down. We ordered the smothered chicken and chopped steak. Both meals were excellent and cooked to order. I always ask for extra onions with a chopped steak and usually wind up disappointed. Not here. Plentiful onions in order to have some with each bite. Yum. The only thing that I would like to see is some sort of bread to accompany the meal. Otherwise, it is highly recommended. Chicken pot pie was on the special board today. Hubby was surprised with the presentation but said that he didn't care for the pastry on top. He's accustomed to having biscuits on top and that it was full of cheese. I had the gyro and sweet potato fries. Their taziki sauce is very good but the gyro itself didn't have much meat in it. I had read about this restaurant and Yelp and several years back. My friends and locals had been there once and they weren't thrilled about it. Yet we went there on Saturday night and let me tell you the place was booming. On one side is a restaurant and on the other side it is a bar with live music and bar food. I later discovered that the menu at the bar is slightly different from the menu in the restaurant. My friends ordered mozzarella sticks and they both ordered the Philly steak sandwich with one with sweet potato fries and another with the regular fries. The Philly cheese steak sandwiches are made from cut up ribeye. Those sandwiches were so hearty that only a half of one would have been enough for me. I ordered the chicken piccata with lemon capers sauce over a breath of chicken and some fettuccine. The fettuccine to my taste was overcooked but the chicken piccata with the lemon caper sauce was divine. I wish it hadn't had more tartness from the lemon but the capers were ideal in this sauce. Totally recommend this. My friends tell me that the chicken fried steak is very good. I will be back. read more

Starting out the service was horrible. We waited 10 mins for anybody to greet us. When we asked about their bloody Mary's two different staff members had no idea how to even respond because they had absolutely no knowledge of what their bar had in stock. Our food came out cold. Country fried steak, potatoes, grits, sausage and eggs were all cold. We couldn't get any condiments for our food from 4 different staff members. We even walked inside to ask again and the server was visibly angry that we needed condiments. Another table overheard and just handed us theirs because they said we would never get it otherwise. We were never checked on after our food came and we had to go looking for our check. We were really looking forward to this meal because of the rating on Yelp. Super disappointing. Being watched by wait staff and other tables while I retrieve a high chair myself, along with moving a chair to replace with said high chair to a different table by myself with a toddler on my is a whole new level of awkward achieved that I didn't know was obtainable. Waited several minutes to get a drink order taken. Staff not attentive at all. We sat there so long with nothing on our table a tall male server with braids and a bandana came to greet us. We sat along the wall near the kitchens, listening to commentary from wait staff along with loudass music by Lil Baby, Drake, DaBaby,etc *Finally* got an order placed thirty+ minutes after seating ourselves Point blank asked the Brunette Waitress with Glasses if the pasta was fresh.She reassured me it was, taking her word- I ordered stuffed shells. Fast forward to when dinner was brought out... burnt myself on my dish after managing to eat maybe 1 1/2 hardened, rubbery shells with FOUL pasta sauce that I asked for on the side.The cheese that was on the plate was glued to the rim of the small dish it was *clearly* microwaved in. My son had chicken tenders and he was absolutely reluctant to eat his so I tasted it...bland af, no amount of ketchup or honey mustard could help it.The only thing that was apparently enjoyable was the plain, butter-only angel hair pasta my daughters' ate. (Because, how can you fuck up noodles? ‍) Our server 1000% noticed my face of disdain while sampling a bite of my food and didnt come over to ask if we needed anything or if everything was okay (probably because she knows it's shit and avoids uncomfortable scenarios). When finally asked if we needed anything else, I said "yes the check" and told her that the pasta was definitely microwaved and the total opposite of fresh. The face she made in response reminded me of a small child being caught red-handed stealing sweets... She brought the check and stepped away despite me moving towards my purse ‍. She took the time to chat with a neighboring table (young redhead teenager/young 20s girl with her little sister...I know because I overheard their whole conversation ) even though I was obviously ready to go. Common sense tells you, wait for the payment and get the customer with a fussy toddler out of the establishment. She chatted up her friend, who was literally seated at the table next to ours, then disappeared to the kitchen. Having stood up to hold the said fussy toddler...not a single wait staff member was in sight. I don't know how much time had passed but it had been a whiiiiile so I finally worked up the nerve to ask the young lady next to me, "excuse me, it sounds like you work here (yes maam) could you tell me if I pay here or at a counter?" Tell me why an off the clock staff member offered to do my checkout for her shitty coworker??? I have never in my life left such a garbage tip (as I leave 30-50% tips on the usual) but that girl barely earned the $2 I left her. Food wasn't comped, no offer to speak to a FOH manager (probably bc there weren't any- all I saw was teenagers or young 20 year old staff that gossiped or clowned around). I have total respect and empathy for the service industry as I work it myself, but totally ignoring a table and playing dumb to issues brought up is beyond me. To the Brunette Waitress with Glasses, a job gardening or working in a bookstore may be better suited as it requires less personality and attentiveness. Your service and attitude towards me and my kids was so bad, I want to give you a zero, but that's not possible, so I give you a one. To whoever tf is running Sundance, y'alls place is rough. Staff needs to be sorted out and your kitchen needs serious help. Not sure why people eat there or continue to come back or how y'all are managaing to stay open. My wife and I came here to Hiawasse for our 5 year anniversary. We traveled all day yesterday and got in late on a Monday night. So we unpacked our stuff and headed out to the Dundance Grill. We sat at the bar and we were greeted by Dacey. A charming young lady. We ordered drinks and looked at the menu. The menu was enormous. We ordered dinner I had Italian and my wife had fish. The meals were so good and the prices were very good. Dacey said they open for breakfast at 10 and she said if you love corned beef hash then we need to show up for breakfast and so we did. The Irish Benedict was phenomenal. Dacey waited on us and we sat outside. So very relaxing. The entire staff was very friendly and again very satisfied. I am sorry but this evenings food was sub-par. let's start with the salad, lettuce, cucumber slices (2) and cherry tomatoes cut in half (4 halves) cheese. Now for the dinner, the ribeye steak which I ordered Medium was over done and was tough as beef jerky. The vegetable medley was microwaved and had no flavor (little olive oil, spices and some butter) would have enhanced these microwave vegetables. the mashed potatoes were bland and no flavor. I'm a huge fan of country fried steak and eggs, so when i saw it on the menu, that's what I ordered along with a side of blueberry pancakes. Everything was good except the country Fried Steak.
