Bronco's Burgers is exactly what a proper smash burger should be. These things are thin, crispy, messy in the best way, and packed with flavor in every bite. They nail that golden edge-crisp that only a real smash burger delivers. Honestly, the definition of "smash burger" should just be a picture of Bronco's. And the sides? They're just as impressive. Their thick-cut fries shocked me -- I'm usually not a thick-cut fry fan because they tend to come out soft or smushy. Not here. Bronco's fries are fried to perfection: crispy on the outside, tender inside, and seriously addictive. Their onion rings are also excellent. Light, crunchy, flavorful, and not soggy or heavy like so many places make them. It's one of those spots where the burger is fantastic, but somehow the sides keep up. Plus, the tacos, burritos, and cheese dip are all standouts. The chips that come with the dip are fresh and crunchy, and that combo is dangerous in the best way. Inside looks small at first glance, but there's an extra dining room in the back with more seating. Just know it can get busy -- I've been there when it was chill, and I've also been there when it was packed to the point I had to sit outside. Parking in the front is tight, but there's additional parking in the back (marked by a sign). The staff is extremely friendly, and even though they only opened earlier this summer, they've already become one of my go-to mountain ride stops with the crew. Great food in the perfect location. My only wish? A Coca-Cola fountain. They do have cans, so I always grab a Coke Zero to complete the meal, but a fountain machine would take things to another level. Bronco's is an easy recommendation. If you want a real smash burger -- plus great fries and onion rings -- this is the spot.

Expected a lot more and was pretty disappointed. Food was meh, service worse. It was a couple of months ago so has hopefully improved.

Burger was a 4, pork bbq was a 2, Cole slaw was probably also a 2, so overall I gave it a 3.

They make a very good pulled pork sandwich at a reasonable price, definitely worth a stop if you're in Hiawassee.

We had fun on Trivia Night first time. Service is good, but can be a little sparse when they are busy. The tacos: Butternut squash is tasty and spicy, Brisket (2 of our party got sick after eating these ), Gringo supreme is good but the sour cream is overloaded and kills the taste of the other ingredients. Tacos are around $4-$6 each. Some in our party didn't like how the flour shell was dry and crispy instead of soft. Drinks are adequate. We may try again on our next visit, but we will be careful what we order.

We had a 7 person group, and there was plenty of seating when we got there, but they still asked us to wait for 25 minutes. They did have high chairs which was a plus though. I ordered the pork chimichanga which I enjoyed. I would have preferred a bit more queso on top, but overall I was very satisfied. There was material on the floor that was crunching and peeling up with the movement of my chair. The server told me not to worry about it though. Due to there not being carpeting, or any acoustic treatment on the ceiling it was very loud in there which caused it to be hard to carry on conversation. Thankfully there wasn't live music while we were there, but I worry that would make the environment very difficult to be in. Overall it's a solid Mexican place though!

The entree, two chalupas, was very fresh and looked appetizing on the plate. When it ate a bit flat, it dawned on me that there was no cheese on either chalupa. The dish was in grave need of the richness and tang that cheese provides. I dumped my salsa on one chalupa and my cheese dip on the other, and the meal was saved. But it seemed I had provided a lot of aid to an entree that should have been self-sufficient. 3 stars. The side of rice was ample, and packed a pungent dose of annato (achiote), the ingredient that gives Spanish rice its characteristic color and flavor pop. 4 stars. The bathroom was pretty clean, and the interior was festive and welcoming, 4 stars. Service was great, 5 stars.

I don't like to give bad reviews, but dang! This place missed the mark all together. The highlight…read moreof this meal was the chips and salsa. The rest was ehh. I had the El Paso dinner. It could have been really good but it was so not good! The chicken was similar to something you would get out of a bag of chicken fajitas one would buy in the freezer action of a grocery store. It was not cooked like fajita meat, it was reheated chicken. Nasty. Really. My husband ordered beef enchiladas, his go to when trying a new place. They were taste less and just well, meh. The waiter was lackadaisical we never received a refill and never received a check back, we finally got up and went to the register and paid with out a receipt. Would not return It is painfully obvious that no one there has a passion for food or service. Sad really, with different management this place could be great. Lots of potential, but it just falls flat.

It obviously has plenty of other charms, most notably its beautiful and remote Blue Ridge mountain environment. But dining options turned out to be drab indeed. The Santo Niño tienda and restaurant was very much an exception, though. We only made it there once but should have come here for every restaurant meal we had while in the area. Based on a couple of tortas, this humble family-run spot killed it on the food. Everything was fresh as it could be, and the kitchen does not skimp on the more-expensive ingredients like avocado and meat, or any other ingredient for that matter. These were sizeable sandwiches. Lengua was tender and succulent, and the wife thought the chorizo was great, too. The tortas are served with fries that were better than they looked (which was rather Ore-Ida-ish)--piping hot with some crispiness to them. I was only a little bummed because it was only after our food was on the way that I realized that the restaurant has pozole on Sundays. Santo Niño occupies a spot in a shabby and grim strip center on the western edge of town. Don't be deterred by this. The business inside is hardly fancy, but it has a warm and comforting feel.
