Chip & salsa. The salsa was really good.
Christina V.

This place was ok. The staff were really nice, the chip , salsa, & Queso was really good. I order the palabano chill but it felt more like an American stuff pepper. The pepper tasted like a green pepper. The ground beef had no flavor it's was like they relied on the cheese for flavors. The rest of the family seem to like their meal. Nothing to rave about. We did have to hunt down our server & ask for refill on our drinks. My son girlfriend ordered nacho and they basically took taco shells & made broke them up. They only broke them in half. So there was that. They only thing they did correct was the. Diablo Shrimp. It was delightful, spicy, & left a nice spice on my tongue.

Seating

Like others have commented, it's busy. Really busy and loud. Although it was busy, I was seated promptly with a menu and had a water quickly. The interior was very colorful. That was in contrast to the exterior that was pretty drab. The waiter was really nice, brought chips and salsa and the menu had tons of choices. The chips were somehow overcooked. The taste was not good but the salsa was great. I got the "Antonio's" with chicken. While waiting, a large party arrive and was seated in the center of the dining area. It's a small place so it immediately became even louder. Not much that can help the noise but I thought things would be better simply because of the crowd. My order came out and was beef. My waiter never came back till I was done and needed the check, and that also said beef so I was stuck. Oh well. The food was not horrible, but like one other reviewer said, the cheese makes up for the rest. Total was over $17 with a water. I doubt I'll be back since I regret not trying the other Mexican restaurant down the street.

Small vs Large Beer
Ally F.

Everything we had here on our trip to this small town was delicious, and we loved it so much we visited twice. The Chori Paso, Mole, and Flan were all authentic and delightful. The beer portion sizes made me laugh. There's no in between with small and large, so please keep that in mind if you order the large beer. It's truly an XXL. Thank you for the great service, we'll be back.

Taco Monte Alban

Great service and great food. We usually go to the Blairsville location, but decided to try this one and it was just as good. Cheese dip and salsa were delicious as always. We typically get the special combo #28 at the Blairsville location, but this location didn't have that as an option. So tried the Taco Monte Alban and it was very tasty and glad I was able to branch out. It has a good assortment of veggies, chicken, steak, and rice all in a fried shell. Definitely recommend this option and it can even be big enough to split. The service here was very attentive and fast. We waited only a short 5mins before getting a table. Everyone was working hard from the staff and super friendly. We will definitely stop in again while in the area and continue to frequent the Blairsville location as well. If you're looking for good Mexican it's worth the visit!

original receipt from dinner

BEWARE if paying for the meal as well as tip with credit card. I left my waiter a 20% tip of $8 and change on a $40 bill. Upon checking my credit card receipts the next morning, I saw there was an eighty ($80) discrepancy between my receipt and the amount charged to my account which was I called the restaurant at 2PM to speak with the manager concerning this error. I was told by the manager that our waiter had changed the $8 tip to $80. Upon questioning the manager for a remedy to this problem, she did not answer and hung up on me. I will take this up with my credit card company but wanted folks to be aware of this dishonest practice by Monte Alban.

Beef taco, burrito, and enchilada with a beer to brink

I went here for a dinner. It wasn't busy which was nice but the waitress I had acted like I needed to order and get out. I ordered a beer, then she came back and was are you ready I said this is quite the menu. She replied just close your eyes and point at something. This reply almost made me leave . I've ate out in May restaurants around the country and I've never been told that. But I stayed ordered the beef taco, burrito, enchilada meal since it was cheap and I figured you can't screw this up. Well, I have to agree with other reviewers that the beef is taste less. I drank my beef ate the meal and left. I will not be returning to this restaurant. Food was mediocre, service to me was rude and the over all experience sucked. Even the chips and salsa. I guess that's Mexican food in Georgia.

Delicious food and great service! Can't wait to go back for more fajitas. They're usually pretty busy but it's worth the wait.

What a fantastic burger joint we stumbled upon while traveling through the mountains! Smash burgers…read morethat are cooked to perfection! So much flavor in every bite! I got the black and blue burger with bbq sauce, cheese and sautéed onions. Amazing! Casual atmosphere like a typical diner a service was fast. Walk up to the counter, order, and get your food within 10 minutes! You could tell that a lot of locals frequent this establishment for their casual lunch meetings. Highly recommend!

They nail that golden edge-crisp that only a real smash burger delivers. Honestly, the definition of "smash burger" should just be a picture of Bronco's. And the sides? They're just as impressive. Their thick-cut fries shocked me -- I'm usually not a thick-cut fry fan because they tend to come out soft or smushy. Not here. Bronco's fries are fried to perfection: crispy on the outside, tender inside, and seriously addictive. Their onion rings are also excellent. Light, crunchy, flavorful, and not soggy or heavy like so many places make them. It's one of those spots where the burger is fantastic, but somehow the sides keep up. Plus, the tacos, burritos, and cheese dip are all standouts. The chips that come with the dip are fresh and crunchy, and that combo is dangerous in the best way. Inside looks small at first glance, but there's an extra dining room in the back with more seating. Just know it can get busy -- I've been there when it was chill, and I've also been there when it was packed to the point I had to sit outside. Parking in the front is tight, but there's additional parking in the back (marked by a sign). The staff is extremely friendly, and even though they only opened earlier this summer, they've already become one of my go-to mountain ride stops with the crew. Great food in the perfect location. My only wish? A Coca-Cola fountain. They do have cans, so I always grab a Coke Zero to complete the meal, but a fountain machine would take things to another level. Bronco's is an easy recommendation. If you want a real smash burger -- plus great fries and onion rings -- this is the spot.

We had fun on Trivia Night first time. Service is good, but can be a little sparse when they are busy. The tacos: Butternut squash is tasty and spicy, Brisket (2 of our party got sick after eating these ), Gringo supreme is good but the sour cream is overloaded and kills the taste of the other ingredients. Tacos are around $4-$6 each. Some in our party didn't like how the flour shell was dry and crispy instead of soft. Drinks are adequate. We may try again on our next visit, but we will be careful what we order.

A visit to Lucky's Taqueria & Cantina begins with its playful exterior. It's bold colors and signage stand out, as does a bicycle perched above the entrance. The eclectic decor continues throughout the restaurant, creating an energetic and lively ambience. We sat at the bar, looked over the cocktail menu, and decided on thier Skinny Margarita and Reposado Old Fashioned. Both were delicious, well balanced cocktails. Lucky's has a good list of tacos, from Barbacoa to chicken to fish to shrimp, and fortunately for this cigar smoking, beer drinking vegetarian, they had two veggie tacos available. I had the Chipotle Butternut Squash Taco (Chipotle roasted butternut squash, pickled golden raisins, cashew crema, cilantro.) and the Seared Tofu Taco (Seared marinated tofu, pineapple pico, cilantro) Both were outstanding, with the Squash taco being my favorite. Along with tacos, the menu includes appetizers, soups and salads, tortas, enchiladas, burritos and other unique entrees. My girlfriend, who loves tacos, actually decided against tacos to order the Tostones con Puerco, an appetizer dish that included three large green plantains topped with smoked pork, garlic sauce, crema, guajillo sauce, queso fresco, and cilantro. Service at the bar was great, prices were very reasonable for the product. If Lucky's wasn't 90 minutes away from me, they would be getting all of my lunch money, for that reason I'm not sure if it is good luck or bad luck that they aren't closer, but we will definitely be back!

It obviously has plenty of other charms, most notably its beautiful and remote Blue Ridge mountain environment. But dining options turned out to be drab indeed. The Santo Niño tienda and restaurant was very much an exception, though. We only made it there once but should have come here for every restaurant meal we had while in the area. Based on a couple of tortas, this humble family-run spot killed it on the food. Everything was fresh as it could be, and the kitchen does not skimp on the more-expensive ingredients like avocado and meat, or any other ingredient for that matter. These were sizeable sandwiches. Lengua was tender and succulent, and the wife thought the chorizo was great, too. The tortas are served with fries that were better than they looked (which was rather Ore-Ida-ish)--piping hot with some crispiness to them. I was only a little bummed because it was only after our food was on the way that I realized that the restaurant has pozole on Sundays. Santo Niño occupies a spot in a shabby and grim strip center on the western edge of town. Don't be deterred by this. The business inside is hardly fancy, but it has a warm and comforting feel.
