Service was friendly, single bathroom was clean, parking was ample. Enjoyed the well-seasoned collard greens and the simple fresh potato salad. Ribs and brisket were tender, but I didn't discern any flavor from smoke or a rub--pretty bland, so were used as sauce delivery devices. Two flavors of sauces weren't especially remarkable, but adequate.

We made an easy pivot to the brisket platter, potato salad, beans, slaw, and Brunswick Stew. My husband and I shared it, and it was plenty for two. If we'd stayed another day we would have gone back. It was the best food in the area. We loved the outdoor porch and seeing the lake. A friendly employee chatted with as he wiped tables. The lady at the counter was a bit curt, but we'll overlook that as I'm sure the lunch rush wore her out. We told our friends how much we enjoyed this place. Then we found out they'd catered their son's small Covid era wedding. Look ahead for the limited days and hours. We'll be back!

The meat was so tasty! Juicy and tender with just the right amount of smoke. It also comes with a side of Texas Toast so buttery and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Yum! Hubby had the brisket sandwich. He got the large... oh my gosh so much chopped brisket, it was over flowing! He opted for the fries and was not disappointed!
