This was so disappointing. First, when we walked in and were alerted they only had chicken & pork at a BBQ place that shouldn't been the first hint. We sat down anyway to give it a try. My party was 9 people, and I know bigger groups take longer to serve but we were there over an hour, and the place wasn't even busy. It didn't need to take that long. And once we got the food, it was absolutely not worth the wait. The mac n cheese was gross, basically watery noodles with fake cheese. The pulled pork was dry and no amount of barbecue could save it. The cole slaw was alright but nothing magical. Really the only thing I tried that I liked was my friends chicken caesar wrap- but this is a barbecue place, like come on. The one good thing was our waitress was very sweet and did her best. I didn't catch her name. Really wished we would've tried somewhere else to eat so we didn't waste so much time waiting, and for food that wasn't even satisfying. read more

This place is awesome! From the friendly service, great food and very clean establishment! First of we were welcomed with open arms and felt at home the whole time we were there! The brisket is soooo tender and full of flavor and WOW the Brunswick stew is absolutely AMAZING! All the sides we had were also great! The beans, okra, slaw and tater salad! Great bbq place right next to the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway in McCaysville, GA. My husband ordered the brisket plate, with tater tots, & mac & cheese & I got the daily special, which was the Brunswick Stew & a grilled cheese. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his brisket, as did I with the stew, which came with a lot of meat in it! Service was fast & very friendly. Good choice if you're in the area! read more

Hands down some of the best ribs I've ever had. They gave me a plastic fork and knife and I thought "I need silverware". I was wrong the ribs fall right off the bone. All the sides are amazing and you definitely have to try the Brunswick stew, it's better than my momma's. If you're thinking about going here, get there early! Whenever they run out of one cut of meat, they run out, which is a good sign of a great bbq place to me. read more

The first restaurant you hit after you get off the railway should be your first red flag. This places is a reminder that just because it's in a small southern town and sells barbeque doesn't mean that their ribs didn't come to the restaurant frozen in the back of a truck. This is a new barbecue as the previous owner retired. We had been waiting for it to open and we stopped by on Friday October 9, 2020. Ordered a Brunswick Stew and ribs with fries and Cole slaw. The ribs were perfectly cooked. Not over or under done. Just right. The sauce is tomato based. I prefer a vinegar based, but this one is good, although it was not very spicy, I prefer spicy. It is easy to add spiciness using red pepper or hot sauce. The Brunswick Stew was great, again a little bland, but that is easily fixed, see above. I think most people would be very happy with both entrees. The French fries are frozen crinkle cut and perfectly done. Takes a little time, so if you are in a hurry, get something else. Coleslaw was cold and quite tasty. The health department gave them a 100. You do not see that very often. Cost was reasonable. The above was more than plenty for my wife and I for dinner, had left overs today and cost only about $28.22 with tax and 20% tip. They use the card service which takes all credit cards, a big plus as far as I am concerned. read more

My husband had the brisket plate with baked beans and coleslaw. The toast was delicious. And yes, I almost stole it all from his plate. I had the Brunswick Stew. It was deliciously layered with the perfect flavors and delivered warmth this cool cloudy day. I was impressed with the service and cleanliness. You've got a great establishment. First, let me give you the executive summary of Stateline BBQ. It is excellent. There seems to be a trend amongst barbecue restaurants to over smoke the meat in an effort to hide poor quality of the cuts. That is not the case here. The meats are perfectly smoked, tender, and tasty. Another thing; many restaurants have side dishes as a filler. Not here. I had the coleslaw, potato salad, and my wife had the baked beans. All seem to be freshly prepared and delicious. The proprietors are on premises, and greeted each patron personally. I highly recommend Stateline BBQ! read more

God Awful! I hate to write such negative reviews, but this food is unacceptable. The brisket is flavorless and dry, the "barbecue" sauce taste like tomato paste, and the Mac n cheese is 100% frozen grocery store brand. Shameful. read more

I've been coming to this place for 4 or 5 years. First few times were really really delicious, the side items are always delicious. However the ribs leave something to be desired. When you cut ribs into individual ribs you should not end up with a pile of pork on your plate like it's pulled pork off the shoulder. The ribs need to be trimmed better and they need to be cooked a little less. When I smoke a pork shoulder and that bone just slides out and then you chop the pork up, that is not how ribs should react you should be able to pick up individual bones and take a bite of the meat and see your bite mark, not the entire slab of me comes falling off the rib onto your plate and then you're holding an empty rib and then you end up eating the meat with a fork that's not ribs, that's pulled pork. read more

Outstanding find in McCaysville/Copperhill. Ordered the BBQ plate and it was more than enough food! The meat was tender and moist with a great smoky flavor. You do not need the sauces but they are outstanding. The spicy sauce has a great kick and a good mixer with the house sauce. The tatter tots....enough said they are tatter tots LOL. Baked beans had a god bbq flavor without being over the top. Go to Stateline and you will not be disappointed! read more
