The 2 BBQ sauces on the table were super yummy and the spicy one was actually spicy! The appetizer sampler was yummy but nothing special. Just fried pickles, onion rings, and corn nuggs. My family and I ate at Carroll's BBQ February 2024 after a nearby high school band event at the Fannin County Performing Arts Center. I fell in love with how good tasting everything was and it was my mission to bring my highschool's band group to this place in 2025. Fast forward another year, I am the event planner and I reached out to Tom Carroll (the owner & manager) as soon as I knew the event date. Tom has been very responsive and clear about his offerings, pricing, and everything in between. Today is the event day. I took a group of 76 high school students, 5 adult chaperones and 2 charter bus drives to Tom's place. He already had the buffet line setup for us and blocked off half of his restaurant for our group. He & his crew replenished foods quickly so our group didn't have to wait for long. Saturday lunch with the family. We were 9 adults and 5 littles. They were kind enough to put us in a private room which worked out perfectly. The lunch specials were great on price and quantity of food but they ran out of a lot of the meals. I wanted the rib combo but they ran out of ribs. So I got the brisket and pulled pork that came with sides. The cole slaw was meh but the meat was tasty. It was a lot of food for almost nothing. We got in to town Friday and my husband looked at me and said those dreaded words "what do you want for dinner?" He was of course thinking pizza and I was all for some BBQ of course I won out and man am I glad I did! Carroll's is the stuff of legends I honestly, wouldn't even thought to try this place tucked in the end of a shopping center. I am extremely particular about where we eat in new places but I noticed they had an excellent food score and decided to give it a go! I got the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with corn nuggets, baked beans and sweet potato fries (all for science of course!) and my kiddo got the Mac and cheese, and split a pulled pork plate with my husband. We tried both the sweet BBQ sauce and the sweet vinegar sauce. My fav was the sweet BBQ sauce so yummy!! The BBQ is top notch and the sides were literally my favorite part. The corn nuggets crispy and creamy, the baked beans were so tasty not smokey at all with the perfect hint of sweetness. I always love sweet potato fries so of course that was a hit with me nice and crispy not soggy even after a 10-20 min drive back to our cabin. It was so good I did what I always do when I'm wowed by a place and told my husband I wanted to eat there again on our trip! Lol even my kiddo was eager to go back!! We went back today to grab some on our way out of town but found out they are closed on Sundays. We will have to come back again because it was seriously that good. We started with the cheese curds, which came with marinara, but we also got ranch, and they were all consumed! Ribs were great, but had a little fat! I chose only 2 ribs and worried it wouldn't be enough, but it was plenty with the 2 sides. I had collard greens and slaw. The collard greens were good! The slaw has the perfect amount of vinegar in it. The shredded pulled pork was tender, and it also had some fat left over from it. The meats were very smoky flavored; you can even see the smoke rising from the back of the restaurant! The baked beans were a good flavor to me, but my boyfriend didn't like them because they are savory, and he prefers sweet. The plates came with a roll because they don't have cornbread, but it was a good yeast roll. They serve the roll with honey butter, but they also have regular butter. They have 2 sauces on the table, but the server brought more out upon request. They have an awesome mustard sauce that's darker and thicker than expected, but still a great mustard flavor. It was my favorite and makes my mouth water writing about it! The server also brought out a white sauce to try, and they had the vinegar pepper sauce to go in the greens. The plates are square aluminum with paper on them, so there's plenty of room to make a mess, and there are also paper napkins on the table. They offer fountain drinks such as Dr. Pepper and other sodas, along with teas. The service was excellent, and we were so stuffed from the food that we didn't have room for the brownie-skillet we wanted. The place was clean, and at 3 PM it wasn't crowded. Each bathroom is for one person only but orderly and clean. I wish I had taken pics of the food, but I was too busy enjoying our smorgasbord! Will go again! read more

Here I am eating left over ribs 3 days after our visit and a bit over 2 hours away trying to figure out if it's practical to drive back for more ribs. They're so flavorful- great meatiness but a noticeable smoky flavor too. They're almost fall off the bone, but not quite- just how I like them. The ambiance, waitstaff and food were all great. Our waitress was super friendly and everyone that came by or brought out food was so pleasant. Highly recommend a trip to Carrol's! PS if you can handle spice the Hot and Spicy bbq sauce is great! Group of five, we all thought it was worth it. The food is well seasoned and not dry at all, the sauces are awesome and the kids plate had plenty of meat. There was nothing left on anyone's plate when we left. The staff is friendly and their food to table speed is great, even when they are busy. We can't wait to go back. We had been out all day and were looking for dinner, either to eat in or takeout. We had decide on BBQ, and this restaurant popped up as a lot of reviews, highly rated, and close to where we were. Although it said it was a dog friendly restaurant, when we pulled up we realized there wasn't outdoor seating and it was service dogs only. We were tired anyways, so we decided to take the food home. We had looked at the menus and decided on the two pound meat family meal. I was able to go inside and place an order at the front counter. The two pound meal comes with a lot of food: two pounds of meat, in our case pulled pork, and four sides; we decided on macaroni and cheese, baked beans, Brunswick stew, and corn nuggets; it also came with rolls, buns, or half rolls, half buns, which we chose. You also get choices on sauces, and I went with a sweet and mild sauce. I was able to sit down on a bench to wait, which wasn't more than five to ten minutes. I could feel the warmth of the food on my legs as we drove home. The food stayed hot, there was plenty of food for four people that we had leftovers, and the price was what you would normally pay for four people. The sweet potato fries were amazing! Salty to the right amount that it brought the sweet out without going overboard, crispy, delicious! The meat was dry for our preference. We added lots of sauce provided on the table and it was yummy. They offered 2 sauces - one had a spicy kick and one had a sweet kick. Food came out quickly. Two of us had Pulled pork sandwiches and so-so fries. Child's meal of chicken strips and Mac n cheese. One dinner salad and an order of wings. The wings are very smokey and the salad was room temperature with a whole hand full of stale crouton. The service was also sad. Older lady putting her time in until she retires. Carrol's was a top recommendation from our Airbnb host. It is located on the outskirts of town but fairly easy to find. From the outside it looks like your average storefront and the sign is tough to see. When you walk in the decor is just okay, pretty plain, with wood saws and related tools hanging on the walls. The front open, medium sized dining area is simple but follows the theme. In this are of GA, we have come to understand that a lot of business are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays are the slowest days. As we came in on Tuesday, there was no wait for a table and only a few people were dining at 5 pm. It was difficult to judge the service and there was only one waitress working the entire dining room, although I did not look in the seating area towards the back. The reason I am giving this place 4 stars is definitely due to the food! You can tell that there was a lot of effort put into these dishes. Lisa and I split the "Tater Hill" and thank goodness we had, because it is a hearty helping. This dish itself has multiple options and we chose the tater tots piled high with brisket. It was absolutely amazing. My brother had the ribs and as a self proclaimed expert on BBQ, he claimed it to be within his top 10. The Grandkids enjoyed the Mac and cheese. But this place stood out to me and let me tell you why. Decided to drop in one evening after a day of hiking and indulge like carnivores. Hubby went with the special of the night which was the brisket sandwich and a side of beans and deep fried okra. I ordered brisket with fries and collard greens. Our awesome waiter Anthony recommended I season my collard greens with some hot pepper sauce for a bit of pop. So I did! So happy he recommended this because this will be the way I eat my collard greens from now on. The brisket was perfectly seasoned and melt in your mouth juicy. It's amazing on its own and even better in the sandwich with all the melted cheese and peppers. This place is only opened 5 days a week with specials on certain days. We came in when they had the brisket sandwich special. So you gotta come in when they have it. And If you have Anthony as your waiter, you're in for a real treat! Very attentive and personable.
