Brisket and pulled pork lunch special
    Mary e.

Saturday lunch with the family. We were 9 adults and 5 littles. They were kind enough to put us in a private room which worked out perfectly. The lunch specials were great on price and quantity of food but they ran out of a lot of the meals. I wanted the rib combo but they ran out of ribs. So I got the brisket and pulled pork that came with sides. The cole slaw was meh but the meat was tasty. It was a lot of food for almost nothing. You order at the counter and they bring the food to the table. All of us were happy with the food, including the kiddies. I highl recommend if your in the neighborhood.

My husband was was looking forward to the prime rib dinner but they were sold out. The 3 meat combo was a good substitute though. We started with the chicken nachos and they were good. Our server kept on top of keeping our drinks filled. The interior was very welcoming.

We dined here on a Saturday night and it wasn't super crowded. Our food and service were very good. I especially loved the spicy BBQ sauce. The ribs (our friend ordered), slaw and sausage were the best items, but everything was good. The atmosphere was nice as well. We will definitely be back.

Group of five, we all thought it was worth it. The food is well seasoned and not dry at all, the sauces are awesome and the kids plate had plenty of meat. There was nothing left on anyone's plate when we left. The staff is friendly and their food to table speed is great, even when they are busy. We can't wait to go back. My mother-in-law said, "we're coming back tomorrow right?" (we live an hour away) Just go, they are much better any in the area and we definitely will make it a stop when go up next time.

Great dinner! Fried pickles, smoked wings, the sides and cherry cobbler were great. Brisket and pork were good. Sausage was ok. I wasn't crazy about the turkey or white sauce. Sides were all very good. Overall very happy!

Here on vacation, party of 3. Staff was friendly. We ordered at the counter, got self service drinks, then sat at a table. The corn nuggets were great. The ranch is a little thin. The sweet potato fries were amazing! Salty to the right amount that it brought the sweet out without going overboard, crispy, delicious! The meat was dry for our preference. We added lots of sauce provided on the table and it was yummy. They offered 2 sauces - one had a spicy kick and one had a sweet kick. Food came out quickly. Staff offered us a drink refill and took dirty plates from the table. They had good music playing. I would compare the ambience to a Sonny's, just more self-service.

Best BBQ I have had around Blue Ridge in a long time. The baked beans and Brunswick stew were also delicious. Service was very friendly.

We were next door having a local beer when we spotted some meats walking by, and so we decided what goes better with beer than BBQ! We were not after a full meal, but just something to nibble on while enjoying the views and our beers, so we went with the loaded tots topped with brisket. The tots were solid, brisket was decent, a bit dry. The mac n cheese, while in theory sounds cool on the tots took away from the dish more than it added to it. Again, it was decent and easily shareable, but I would not order again for $17. Service was hit and miss at the bar. Since we were sitting on the patio behind the brewery, we went to the bar for service, which makes sense and was totally fine, but the bartender was not super interested, even though the bar was empty. Overall, the visit was okay. It is a great location and the partnership with the brewery is a great one given their shared space of the beautiful patio. When back in town, we may not seek Smokin E's out, but wouldn't completely avoid it either.

As an app we got; the redneck rolls, very filling so it was 4 stars for me. Now for the main meal: My husband ordered 2- meat plate: the beef brisket was super dry & the chicken he got was okay. He got mac n cheese: 4 stars Texas toast was super oily. and the fried okra was good- 5 stars. I got the pulled pork and that was good: 4 stars, The coleslaw was not good at all, it was very dry and didn't have much flavor. 1 star. Fries were fries. We probably won't be back but glad that they do give you a lot of food.

But a history is not the only thing this restaurant offers. This place is one of the very few that smokes the meat to a very obvious degree. I have not tasted this level of smoke in a while, and it is quite an acquired taste that is not commonly found these days. We ordered ribs, pulled pork, fried pickles, and a blackberry cobbler. The food was OK, yet the ribs had that unique smokey flavor of years past. This place is a gem of the past. The dessert was good, and the service was friendly.

I ordered the ribs, and they were fall-off-the-bone tender. The rub on them was delicious, and their sauce perfectly complimented the juicy meat. I wish there was a little more spice in their spicy barbecue sauce, but it was still delicious. I also tried their garlic salad, and it kind of just tasted like a bottled grocery store dressing without a lot of garlic flavor. The sides were good but nothing standout about them. However, their raspberry lemon cake was incredible. The tart lemon complimented the sweet raspberry flavor perfectly. I'd come back for their ribs and cake any day!

Not only it was on my birthday in which we celebrated. But our excursion to the mountains for the long weekend was a fantastic time. As you can see through the pictures we really went all the way my dish was as abundance of seafood that you could have with an amazing cioppino sauce that was also soppable with crusty garlic bread. The beverages were on point, they have a great menu of bourbons. Will not disappoint. As a surprise they gave me a flourless chocolate Bundt cake to take home with a candle. Being with the family is always a warm unforgettable experience. There is something to be said about being surrounded by people who care and love so much. I'm in bliss. Until next time ...

For drinks, the Sweater Weather was the clear winner--well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted. The combination of Bulleit rye, La Pommiere Calvados, and sorghum created a smooth, seasonal cocktail with nice depth. The Properly Poached was decent but didn't quite impress in the same way; the Brugal Añejo, pear liqueur, dark wildflower honey, and pink salt made for an interesting profile, though it leaned a bit flat compared to the first cocktail. We started with the broiled sweet crab dip served fondue-style with pita chips, which was a great opener. It was warm, creamy, and rich, with good crab flavor that made it easy to keep going back for more. For entrées, the blackened mahi fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. The mango pico added a nice brightness, and the cilantro crema tied everything together nicely on the corn tortillas. The smash burger was another solid choice--juicy double patties with melted American cheese, crispy onion rings, house sauce, and house-made pickles that added a great tangy crunch. Service was ok waitress took a bit to bring the drinks and then the food took about 30+ minutes luckily we were entertained by talking to locals that we really weren't concerned. Overall, the restaurant delivers a pleasant upscale-casual dining experience with well-executed comfort favorites and creative cocktails. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the crab dip and the Sweater Weather cocktail and the fish tacos those were my overall favorites. Prices are mid range. Note that the restaurant as most restaurants in the Blue Ridge close early.
