We ordered food to-go since we were traveling with my pup. We got the Country Feast with sliced, wet brisket, dark meat chicken. It also comes with smoked pulled pork, a full rack of baby back ribs, and 6 sides. For sides, we got Mac & cheese, collard greens x2, baked beans, fried okra, and fries. Everything was delicious! The wet brisket and ribs were my favorite. We enjoyed all of the sides equally, but the ranch was the star of the show! I couldn't get enough of it. We also ordered a gallon of sweet tea and it was so good! This left us with plenty of leftovers for our family. Stopped here for lunch while in the area. We are glad we did. The service, food, and BBQ atmosphere were great. After we ordered our drinks I decided to go with the Brunswick stew, and pulled pork sandwich with fries. My wife tried 10 naked smoked wings with fried okra. That day the wings were .99 all day Wednesday. My Brunswick stew was good. A little thick with veggies. I added the sauce from the table to give it more of a BBQ taste. My sandwich was very good with the three sauce types on the table. My wife loved her wings. Smoked and not fried. Had a nice rub flavor and she loved the ranch dressing to dip them in. Terrific Service! We were a group of eight and our girl was polite, fast and on top of everything. I ordered a salad that was very good. For my mail meal I had Brisket burger with onion rings and a side of beans. Everything was great! I did use the restroom and it was clean but they didn't have any paper towels. We called for a reservation but were told if we come right away we should be able to get in and we did! It was a Friday night at 6:30. By 7 pm the place was full. Thanks to Yelp. We found this place on our way to Asheville. Super friendly service walked right in and got a table. They were super busy, but the waiter was very accommodating. Made sure we always had refills and took our order right away. We ended up getting the pulled pork with a classic right couldn't go wrong. The french fries reminded me of McDonald's. They were very small but the super hot and tasty. My husband got the baked beans with were delicious and had pork in Them. The sandwich she couldn't go wrong lots of flavor. Visiting the mountains of NC in Murphy and Rib Country BBQ was suggested as one of the best BBQ sport in Murphy. So I decided to check them out. We ordered the sliced brisket (which you can order lean or fatty) sweet potato's with a delicious brown sugar cinnamon butter, fried okra and pork & beans. Oh yes and for dessert we ordered what they called fried apple pie topped with vanilla ice cream. This dessert was what we call an empanada, and it was light, crispy and delicious The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. After a year's absence, I decided to go back to see if their quality control had improved. It hasn't . The (wet) brisket was very fatty and should have been trimmed better. The plate I received should not have been served. Server asked if I wanted brisket sliced or chopped; I replied sliced ... what I received was pieces/bits pulled or left over from slices. A random roadside stop led to some of the best bbq I've ever had. The pulled pork was smoked perfectly. The bark was tender and sweet. The meat was kissed with just the perfect amount of smoke. The hand battered onion rings were perfectly cooked so that the onions were almost creamy and caramelized inside their perfectly crispy little shells. Macaroni and cheese and slaw also fared well, but the portion was so huge we couldn't finish our dinners. And a whole pulled pork plate for $14.90!!!! What a steal! read more

I placed an online order today and picked it up around 4:45 pm. The order included 1 country feast, 1 side salad with 1000 island, 1 order of fried okra. We picked up the order and drove 50 minutes home. Upon unpacking the order I was missing the Cole slaw, baked beans, and side salad. I called the store and initially spoke with manager, Robin. Even with the name on order and order number, she stated she could not find my order. She then got someone else named Summer. She stated she could not do anything without finding the order. My only option she stated was for me to drive back 50 mins each way to resolve the issue. I asked if I could take a picture of the receipt and she said the only way to send it was via email and a manager would look at it tonight. I explained the order was missing the side salad and the baked beans and slaw. At the time the order was picked up the restaurant was not busy. I called the store at 5:43 pm to report this problem. Had the ribs and they were the smallest rack I've ever encountered, dry, and 'homemade' sauces reminded me of high-fructose corn syrup. It was just my experience, couldn't finish the other half of the ribs, but the manager did throw in a 25% off the bill for the trouble. I was only in town for a few days and Murphy doesn't seem to have much to choose from but I definitely would roll back time here if I could. So when I called I asked for her recommendation. I ordered the turkey and it was cold. Not room temperature but cold. Into the microwave it went. Still not great or good so I slathered it with sauce. That made it palatable. I saw the menu said the baked bean recipe was a "family recipe" and I would not put that on the menu. I threw it out after trying it. I would come back for the brisket!! Got it marbled and I only wish I got a pound instead of half a pound. The ribs were cooked a little dry for my taste, but flavor and sauce was on point. For entree I ordered the pork platter umm the pork was rather dry I smothered it with the sweet and the spicy bbq sauce and it did the trick! I really enjoyed the bbq beans. I did the country platter here's what I ended up choosing Baby back ribs: terrible, burned, bitter barely any meat. My preference is for spare ribs but this is all they had for ribs on the menu. We had hit the road early with friends and ended up going into Tennessee before circling back into NC. Very popular place; we waited a few short minutes before being seated. Smoked wings to start for the table. WOW! Really tasty and we were told they have their own BBQ sauce just for the wings. Might as well try an onion ring loaf? Well, almost. We were advised that someone didn't prep them correctly. Just onion rings instead and they were good too. Might as well throw in some Fried Green Tomatoes for good measure as we are in the South. Good bites paired with the dipping sauce. I'm shocked at this point we're even ordering entrees after all the grub. We pressed on for review purposes. I ordered the Baby Back Ribs and Brisket Plate. Ribs were perfectly cooked and the Brisket met my picky standards. Every diner had this variation of this platter including Ribs and Fried Shrimp. I didn't get any Shrimp! Sides were delicious from my Baked Potato to the Brown Sugar heavy Baked Beans. Been passing this restaurant for a long time, and decided to give it a try today for lunch. We had Luncheon Specials of BBQ Pulled Pork Plate and a BBQ Chicken Plate. While the "Plates" do come with a choice of two sides and a slice of toasted garlic bread, we found the meat portions to be a bit disappointing. The pulled pork was on the dry side. The chicken plate had one piece of chicken, with very little meat on the bone. The chicken was so dry I had to take a sip of soda with each bite to be able to get it down. A side order of Onion Rings was mediocre. So that just about describes it, mediocre lunch for $36, excluding the tip (two lunch plates, side of Onion Rings, and 1 soda, for over $40. I know inflation, etc, etc, but this was just not a meal worth $40. Today was our first time, but it was also our last. read more

I think the waiter misheard my order... I ordered the brisket platter but he brought out a BUTTER platter! The meat was so tender and flavorful. I waved my fork near it and it melted into delicious bites. Amazing! There's a selection of sauces on the table, the beans were firm and swimming in a pork laden sauce, the toast was a throwback to the way my mom made it- with a sprinkle of garlic salt on it, and the onion rings while tasty, lost the breading by the time they arrived to the table. I was surprised by the complimentary cookie that came out with check. The entire experience was charming. I dined alone but the next time I will bring the family! Nice job! read more

We were charged an extra 2.50 each for 2 premium sides that barely filled a half cup. The sauces weren't all that great either. Extremely disappointed to get a bill for over $40 for 2 people. One of the things I miss about living in North Carolina would be the BBQ. And mountain BBQ is even better... tender falls apart in your mouth and the flavor never disappoints. We learned about Rib Country from fellow Yelpers and it is also listed in our cabins guidebook for top places to eat. So of course we had to see what all the talk was about. 1. Location: If coming from downtown Murphy it's only 3 miles away located on top of a LARGE hill... and a small parking lot. It was sprinkling when we arrived but the parking lot was clean and compact with no signs of trash littering the parking lot. 2. Customer Service: We were greeted right away and taken to a front booth by the front door. All staff wore mask as well which was much welcome. Our waitress Gracye was super nice and attentive and we learned that she was also a dog mom as well. She never left us for long and would check back periodically to offer refills and see if we were okay. She also seemed to know when we needed boxes to go before we even had to ask. 3. Food: Amazing! I ordered a condo dinner plate which was a full rack of ribs with pulled pork and two sides (plain sweet potato & baked beans) the sweet potato was meant to come with a cinnamon butter but being dairy & gluten free that's a no no. The ribs literally fell off the bone... there was no need to eat meat off the bone. The meat just slid right off the bone and the pork was tender and flavorful. I've so missed mustard bbq. I poured it all over everything. Lol. 4. Cleanliness: No sticky tables, everything was wiped down and refilled. It also looked like they wiped down the bbq bottles because there weren't sticky. When walking to the restrooms. I noticed that all the booths had clear plastic dividers between them. All the tables were wiped down or being cleaned right away and all the staff had masks on that were on the floor. I did notice that a few kitchen staff coming from the back didn't have mask but it didn't bother me overly much. The bathroom was also clean and well stocked which is always a bonus. First off the service was amazing the waitress couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. The food however was no where near what we hoped for. For an appetizer we ordered fried green tomatoes, they tasted like frozen pre-breaded tomatoes. My fiancé had the ribs and brisket, the waitress asked if we wanted wet or dry cut she chose the wet, well if that was the wet cut we got I would hate to see the dry. Atmosphere - You get out of the car, and smell the smoke. The smell is still inside the restaurant. The four of us sat in a wood booth. Not very comfy. Clearly that hour was too long. Food Drink - No beer served here. So water. Dinner - I wanted the special, burnt ends. But no luck. I had the brisket meal with coleslaw, and cold fries. Brisket was sliced poorly, almost looking like burnt ends. I think I might have had one full slice that was not broken. That tells me it is a bit dry or a very dull knife. Flavor was smoke forward, but the bark was great. Service - Our waitress was friendly. But you could tell it was clean up time and the staff was hustling and cleaning. Traveling through NC wanting BBQ we choose this place because of reviews and selection. It's Sunday at noon; they have been open 1hour. The place is hoping, several tables are open, couple behind us was told a 15 minute wait, the next 25 minutes. Service was sloooow but friendly. The Food: pulled pork plate, pork dry and good flavor, used a lot of sauce which was sweet with some heat. The beans dry, with a smokiness, pork flavor but there was something missing. It was like a V6 running on 4 cyl. Smokey wings good as was the coleslaw. Fries crispy good. The best was the smoked Turkey, tender, moist and full of flavor. The not so good, (I will say there seemed to be plenty of help on the floor but the kitchen might not have been fully staffed) we waited an hour and a half for BBQ. Hopefully this just an off day.
