Tipsy Taco in Clemson is such a good spot if you're craving Mexican food. The atmosphere is super fun and lively, and it's definitely a great place to go with friends. The tacos are packed with flavor, and everything tastes fresh and well-seasoned. It is a little on the pricey side, but honestly the quality and vibe make it worth it. Service depends on how busy but overall good. If you're in Clemson and want solid Mexican food with a fun environment, this is definitely a place I'd recommend stopping at! read more

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. We had decent service but the drinks and food were pretty nasty. We ordered the trio and the cheese dip came out pretty much like water. Our server took it back and said they were making a fresh one. When that came out it was curdled and had a very weird texture and flavor. Not edible. The guacamole had zero flavor. One star because we did like the chips The margaritas tasted like pure lime juice with a splash of OJ. We had the bang bang shrimp tacos, which were just ok. Won't be back. read more

First customers as they opened on a Sunday. It took a minute for someone to come from the back to seat us. Emma was our server. She was great. Industrial meets trendy vibe. Country music was playing so that gave it more of a Tex-Mex feel than a Mexican restaurant. We ordered the queso with chips as an appetizer. For our entrees, I had the Pork Belly Taco and the Chipotle Shrimp Taco on the soft white corn tortillas. The hubby had The Cowboy taco and The McFishen taco. The food was all good. Generous amounts - although a little messy. Nice menu variety. Make sure to take a light wrap-the air conditioner was definitely working, even my husband was a little chilly. read more

If you want any semblance of Mexican food this isn't the place for you. It's just poorly executed fusion tacos and even worse executed authentic Mexican dishes. I imagine gas station tamales tasting better. Elote street corn that looks like it's seasoned but had zero flavor. Pastor was meh. Kids quesadilla was awful. It was straight up lowest quality dollar tree shredded cheese. Service was decent. Just save your money and go elsewhere with higher reviews. This one clearly meets its current rating. We just happened to be in the plaza already. My wife said it wasn't good the first time she tried it, I should have just listened, she was absolutely right. Waste of $90 for family of 4. read more

This place has good food, but the tacos are way too expensive. I got two tacos and it cost $12. This is way too expensive. They were steak tacos, but everything else on the menu was expensive too. I recommend this place, only because of the good food. There was not enough meat on my taco, so it's over powered by the lettuce, but it was still good. I recommend coming here if you're looking for some quick good Mexican food. The service was not not very efficient, but the ambiance was pretty good and fun. read more

Traveled here for a birthday lunch with my 19 year old son and 90 year old dad (Pa) and my son chose Tipsy Taco. We chose the trio of queso, salsa, and guacamole with chips as an appetizer. The three dips were each about 10 ounces to 12 ounces, so they were fairly large. Which is a good thing since it was $12.00. The chips are house made and they also were a large portion. Honestly, we could have (and should have) stopped there....because that is when things were still good, food-wise. The tacos were not very good and were significantly overpriced compared to many other local street taco places I have recently frequented. So I am comparing these tacos to recent experiences with at least three other places, all which had better tacos. My son and I tried the same taco trio - the Seoul Mate (filet mignon with Korean BBQ sauce), the Cabo Wabo (fried grouper, cabbage, chipotle mayo & pickled red onion), and the Al Pastor, all on corn tortillas. Portion size was decent. Flavors were just not working for us. The Seoul mate was sickeningly sweet and over powering. The Cabo was just not good, too much mayonnaise and it was very heavy for a fish taco. The Al Pastor wasn't bad or good, just, "Meh." My dad had a taco and enchilada combo that came with black beans and rice. He ate the taco but the rest of the stuff wasn't very good for him and the enchilada was very little meat content and a bit too spicy (which is okay for most, I understand). Lately, I have been on a real binge for tacos at least once per week. My recent experience has this menu at the bottom of the list. Plus, the tab was $50, so there are much more affordable and better food choices. The wait staff was light today, harder to get workers, I suppose. Our waitress did well and was a college student trying to earn spending money and we tipped her well in spite of the food, which was not her fault. read more

Walked in the atmosphere was welcoming and very inviting! No hostess greeted us however and we ended up seating ourselves. When the server came we ordered the queso and salsa the chips were great queso was delicious! We then ordered the carnitas, bang bang, and birria tacos as well as the street corn. The birria was delicious the carnitas was good could use some flavor and was kinda dry. Bang bang taco was dry and cakey on the flour. The street corn lacked a lot of flavor! Could use tajin to keep it true to authentic flavors! read more

The service was super fast and the tacos are some of the best I've ever had. Not quite sure why this place doesn't have a better rating. The prices are also super reasonable. Chase was my server and he was wonderful. The Seoul mate taco was insanely good, so good that I will make sure to come here if I'm ever in South Carolina again. read more

Good Name, Good Location, Good Logo. Thats about it. WORST GUAC I've ever had in my life. I ordered these three taco things that looked good on their menu, then they show up a soggy mess. The hostess and waitress were both wearing hoodies. Almost as if there was no standard or dress code to the restaurant. On top of that, the waitress's hoodie had a huge stain on it which disgusted my wife and I before we even tasted the guac. On top of all this, the food is expensive. Massive waste of money. We didn't drink but I bet their drinks are better because there's no way they stay in business just based on their food. read more

The Good: The restaurant was clean, and the friendly staff greeted us at the door. We sat at the bar to have a drink while we ordered take out and the bartender was friendly and helpful. Overall the flavors of the food, the menu variety and the freshness were good too. Lastly, the wait time was acceptable. The Bad: The bar menu advertises over 100 different kinds of tequila so we decided to try a shot of Herradurra. This tequila normally retails for between $40 & $50 for a 750 ml. bottle. Expensive but definitely not a super premium tequila. We were finished with our drinks when the food came out so we paid immediately. We were charged $9.50 for one shot of the tequila! I don't mind paying for what I order but is not a high end restaurant, it is a cross between a sports bar and an open style cafeteria. We didn't complain about the price gouging, paid with a 20% tip and left. We had a short five minute drive home and when we got there the food was cold and everything had to be reheated in the microwave. The portions were small for the price as well. The stuffed jalapenos pictured below are exactly as they were when we opened the container, nothing was altered. Two jalapenos cut in half, filled with cream cheese and sprinkled with bacon, that were not even warm for $7.00. Overall the experience was a disappointment. We won't be going back. The bottom line, there are by far better local privately owned Mexican restaurants in the area that offer superior food at better prices. read more

I think they're still fairly new and working out some kinks - I ordered the Tipsy Trio and the waitress didn't realize that not all of the salsa options could be selected so my app order went in a little late and came out at the same time as my entree. I think the price was very reasonable for the serving size of the trio but think it's interesting that they are not all three the same size (it was ok because the cheese dip was the biggest and my favorite of the three: Guacamole, Queso and Spiked Avocado Ranch dip). The guacamole was the kind that is a whipped texture instead of chunks and has only avocado, cilantro and lime juice so I feel it lacked a little in the flavor. The Avocado Ranch dip definitely has a little kick to it but was a little thinner than I expected. I ordered the Don Mignon Taco on soft flour and the #Chorizo - they were DELICIOUS but I would have loved some spicy, chunky salsa to go with them. I was pleased with their drink selection and tried a new beer I haven't had before Cerveceria Amber (Death Becomes You) which was pretty good and for dessert I had a flight of the frozen drinks: Pain-Killer, Mixed-Berry, Screw-Berry and Creamsicle ($14). read more

Dysfunction Junction. Was looking forward to some drinks and appetizers in a fun, lively setting like we've done in other locations of this franchise. We walked into a moderately filled space with fun lights and nice looking bar with TV screens showing different sporting events, but it was weird it was so quiet with No background music. The hostess sat us at table that had just been cleaned and was still wet although there were plenty of options and choices available. After drying my arms off and drying the table off with paper towels we settled in to deciding what we wanted to drink, ordering chips and salsa for a totally fair $3. The waitress was back at our table in literally less than a minute. She sat down a basket of broken chips and asked if we knew what we wanted to drink yet. We asked a couple of questions and she took our drink order. As she left we tried the chips and they weren't as described on the menu. These were cold and as already mentioned broken. She came back a few minutes later and we told her that the chips were cold and not warm and she fixed it. This time they came out nice, big warm chips like you would expect anywhere. She asked again if we decided yet what we wanted to eat for dinner and told her it would be just another minute or two. 5-6 minutes later we still didn't have our drinks and had not yet put in our dinner order. We noticed by this time that a margarita had been sitting at the bar for wait staff pickup during this time. Then several minutes later after the bartender waited on new arrivals at the bar the waitress came back to take our order. We ordered our food and asked if we could get our drinks. She went to get our drinks but my beer hadn't been poured yet. She brought my wife's margarita over although guess what, it wasn't the right margarita. My wife had said to the server no orange juice in her margarita. A few minutes later they brought the right margarita and finally my beer with our food. Wings were good, drinks were good! The attention to detail, and the wait staff including bartender and manager seemingly clueless as to creating atmosphere. Out front it says franchise opportunities available yet if I was an owner I'd be livid or ashamed of the lackluster care in which my investment was presented. This time of COVID is an opportunity to get things right for when we go back to business full on. I hope everyone gets focused and everything gets better. read more

Went here after the game because basically traffic sucked and it was right where we parked. The food was pretty good, cheese dip was awesome and the chips were amazing as well. My daughter ordered the burrito and my nephew had the kids quesadilla. Both servings were huge! Plenty of food. Got busy about 20 minutes after we got there, could use a little more staff. Thanksgiving Eve - looked for a restaurant near our hotel. Tipsy Taco was open & had seating at the bar. Our wonderful bartender, Kara, was very attentive from the moment we were seated. Surprisingly good selection of bourbons. Had the trio appetizer. Tasty. The Dude ordered tacos for his entree. I had the filet burrito bowl. Two of his three tacos were excellent. I'd order the bowl with the cheese sauce on the side next time. Everything was flavorful. We ended with a flight of margaritas. All super tasty. Kara introduced us to a blend of the jalapeño & strawberry margaritas. Amazingly good. Enjoyed the evening. Highly recommend. read more

This business is fairly new , I've been waiting for this place to open . So excited when I was finally able to come. The establishment was a bit noisy , it reminded me so much of a sports bar downtown Clemson . The time we came , it was very busy and that may have been the reason as to why the service wasn't as good. Our food came out hot and fresh and was absolutely delicious. The food was well worth the money. I will definitely be returning to Tipsy taco read more

I've been to this location and the location in Greenville (Pelham Rd) and the quality at this location is for a lack of better words inedible. This was only my second visit to this location. The first time wasn't great, and we thought it was a one off, but sadly this last trip will be our last. The meat on my boyfriend's Al pastor tasted old and was extremely dry. I got the quesabirria which is one of my favorite dishes and was really excited they added it to the menu. However, what I received was hands down the grossest rendition of this dish I've ever gotten. Dry meat, sour tasting and the jus tasted like burnt coffee. I'm not sure if these are growing pains from expansion, but if you like Tipsy, stick with the location on Pelham. This one is no good. read more

Slowwwwwww service. Mid afternoon and not busy. Maybe not enough people in the kitchen.

Was very disappointed. Very disappointed. My stuffed jalapeños were burnt, mangled and really not presentable. The bang bang shrimp tacos were made with way too old frozen breaded mostly breaded shrimp with tails buried in the tortilla slaw and sauce. read more

Went for lunch with my boyfriend and we both got the 2 taco lunch special. The flour tortillas were so hard, there's just no way they were fresh. The chicken inside the taco was very dry, which was too bad, because the flavor was there but it's hard to enjoy when you have to put so much effort into trying to chew it. We were still hungry after picking apart the tacos that we decided to split the birria tacos. I took one bite and immediately knew something was off. Like they had cooked the pork for days in a burnt consommé. It was completely mush and inedible. My boyfriend ate it anyways because it's $14 for 3 small tacos and he hates to waste. But then immediately complained of a stomachache when we finished. Men.... Anyways, I definitely don't recommend this restaurant and if I could give zero stars, I would. Over priced and disappointing. read more

Can't find on Google Maps despite several months being open. Ordered at lunch time and it came out super fast! Except the meat was either room temp or cold. Nothing was warm. Not worth the visit or money. read more
