On our anniversary and were very disappointed they were out of several items, scallops, wings, onion rings and several others. We were early and only 4 others in the restaurant, we ordered and waited maybe 30 minutes and she brought our food but not the salad had to go back to get it. I had shrimp and pasta that had no flavor and the shrimp was overcooked my husband ordered the seafood plate and she came back to say they were out of scallops so they offered more of one item. I asked for a sweet tea refill and it came back regular iced tea. Needless to say we will not go back. read more

No real butter in the restaurant! I love that you can BYOB but I can't eat phony food and they couldn't accommodate me. If I do ever return I will need to bring my own butter for the vegetable and my own salad dressing. read more

We do recommend Southern steakhouse. We were pleasantly surprised as we were seated in the graciously spaced restaurant. Our service was spot on our food was very good. Twice we have ordered steaks and the steaks were cooked too perfection. We've since gone back a couple of times with the same experience. They do not serve alcohol, however, but they do allow you to bring in your own and they will provide the glasses. Interesting concept. But yes, we would go again! read more

This is the best value in Seneca for a "no frills meal". The portions are quite generous, the service is quick and professional, and it has a family friendly atmosphere. You can brown bag your adult beverage with no corkage fee. We've dined there several times now and have always enjoyed the experience. Give it a try if you haven't already. read more

Totally random stop on the way back home from a trip. Saturday at 1 pm, there was a good crowd. My wife got the shrimp salad, it was huge! The salad extra fresh and the shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. I went with the al la carte tacos. Two Al Pastor and one Carnitas. The Carnitas was wonderful, very tasty and flavorful. The Al Pastor was a little on the dry side, still good, but not he best. I ordered tow, because I wanted to dry both corn and flour tortillas. Decent meal, but would have been awesome served with some cheese, sour cream, anything --- just plane meat on a tortilla is kind of boring. I ended up ordering queso, which was excellent - I poured it on the tacos....... Service was excellent, our server was a five rock star! I posted photos for your viewing enjoyment. read more

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The staff and the food were outstanding. Everything was cook appropriately and served hot. My husband and I both had steaks/surf and turf. Highly recommend this little gem. read more

Stopped by on a whim for lunch. We were seated right away. They have a lunch special menu which I ordered from and thought by looking at the dinner menu that I must come back for dinner sometime! Server was pleasant and food came quickly. Portions were large and had to get a to go box! I recommend reservations for weekends because the parking lot is always packed! read more

We've driven past this restaurant for years and finally decided to stop in and try it. What a huge disappointment. If you're a steakhouse, cooking a steak to the proper medium rare temperature should be the easiest culinary task for your chef. These pictures show the porterhouse and filet. Never seen a 1/4" thick porterhouse. It was pale, thin and overcooked. The waitress even apologized for the "color of the steak" and offered me 15% off the bill. What??? No thank you. So I ordered the filet mignon. Hard to over cook one of those. But this chef did. Again, thin and pale and overcooked. Looked horrible. On top of that, they didn't bring it out with the sides. Just a nasty looking steak on a small saucer. So bad. I only gave it 1 star because the waitress was attentive and sweet, and didn't charge me for either. But we'll continue to by-pass this one. read more

Excellent service and wonderful food especially the breaded shrimp. $16 for 12 butterflied shrimp, so lightly battered they melt in your mouth, plus two sides. I had a salad and a loaded baked potato. My third time and not disappointed yet! read more

Southern Steakhouse is my favorite restaurant in Seneca, hands down! Delicious food, generous portions, affordable prices, and very friendly staff. Everything I've eaten here from the salmon to salads to traditional Mexican dishes have all been good. Whether eating in or ordering out, I've always had such amazing service. Very sweet staff! Do yourself a favor and check it out! read more

Southern Steakhouse is a terrific addition to Oconee County! With both a steakhouse side of the menu and a Mexican side of the menu, it has something for everyone! The food is fresh, seasoning is perfect and price is extremely reasonable for the amount of food. We visited tonight with people from age 5 to 65 and everyone was more than pleased. Highly recommended! Just BYOB or wine. read more

Food is good, but a little pricey. Service was awful. Went there on a Saturday and expected busy, but we waited more than an hour to get the order. Server kept saying order was placed and it won't be long. We got to the point where we almost walked out because of the long wait at the table. Saw some people who came in late had their order and left. What's wrong with this picture? Server apologized for the delay, and said kitchen is short handed, doordash kept coming, etc. Then she said the ticket (our order) was lost. At the end, it was found on the floor, the server said. We were furious! read more

We were traveling through Seneca, and we were looking for a place to eat lunch, and we saw the sign for this restaurant, the atmosphere is very inviting, the menu selections a little sparse for lunch, so let's start with appetizers I got the chicken wings with the southern tangy sauce, to say that I've had better wings would be an understatement, these wings left a bit to be desired I was very disappointed. my wife and I both got the shrimp salad which is a highly recommended dish, it was delicious plenty of big juicy shrimp you will not be disappointed. I will go there again I will try something different and definitely not the wings. read more

Had a late lunch there 2 days ago. Plenty of people inside but no wait! Booths were large and roomy, our service by Joel was stellar and the owner even came out and talked to us. My steak was perfect and my wife who is an ex chef was thoroughly impressed with her meal as well. Generous portions, great ambiance, clean bathrooms, great food and fast service!!!!! This is our second visit. The first time was much better than this time. The onion rings are now frozen. They said they have made several changes. Well they were not good changes. I can go to BK and get frozen onion rings. The group of 8 I was with did not enjoy our meal. Especially after I recommended this place for the onion rings. No reason to go back. read more

Burger was amazing. I tried the Mexican burger which had a touch of jalapeño spice that was to die for! Most likely the best burger I've had in the seneca area. Fries were seasoned and delicious as well. Can't wait to try their steaks! read more

This was our latest visit to this fine establishment. We were in town for another scuba diving weekend. We've changed our eating habits since our last visit, so we tried a different menu item this time. We had the filet mignon with asparagus and it was phenomenal. They have nailed the winning combination, great food served by an attentive and friendly staff. Can't lose here. We will eat here every time we visit Seneca. read more

This restaurant is NOT a steakhouse. It's a Mexican restaurant. The food isn't spectacular and a bit expensive. I won't be going back. read more

I have eaten at the Southern Steakhouse several times and the food was always hot, fresh and delicious. I appreciate being able to bring my own beer or glass of wine to go with the meal. Never judge a book by its cover, drove by this place a dozen times finally tried them out. Service was Pleasant, however, when inquiring about the meal I was contemplating ordering. It definitely made me scratch my head. Let me explain. If all steak and seafood entrées come with two sides, then why would a combination another words, surf and turf only come with one side; which is stated on the menu, however, when inquired about it, was told that the shrimp that was accompanying my sirloin was considered one side .. I find that to be the Restaurants prerogative and it is clearly stated on the menu, however, Ludacris just my opinion. Additionally, if I wanted a second side to go with my surf and turf, it would be $4.99, again I find that to be outrageously ludicrous. Lastly, I will say the food was good. read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside but don't let looks deceive you.....it is beautiful inside!!!! We were promptly seated and drinks served. I ordered the Chicken ACP and let me tell you, IT WAS THE BEST I'VE HAD-EVER!!!! We are from quite a long way away and I will gladly go back just for just that. My husband had a Mushroom burger and was very happy with it. I'd like to try more of their Mexican dinners as with all the ones I saw going by, they look very good. read more

Tried this place tonight... waitress must have been new, she had to go in the back several times to ask questions. Took quite awhile for them to serve, coke machine was out if order. We thought we would not try steaks since we needed to see how burgers were first. Came out WELL done and tough with no flavor. I'm not a fan and would NOT go back there again. My husband and I love this place! It doesn't look like too much from the outside - but the inside is nice with string lighting and they always have good games on the big screens to watch. The food is delicious! We love getting their salmon entree! It's seasoned and seared perfectly every time! And the sides dishes are delicious too! Really glad we have a great quality restaurant just right down the road! read more

The food was much better than we (my wife, daughter and I) were expecting given the limited menu offerings and the fact that the place was relatively empty (to be fair, it was 8pm on a Monday night). The steaks that my wife and I ordered were cooked almost perfectly and the quality of the meat (really good) is what we're used to coming from Dallas, TX. My daughter ordered the friend flounder and loved it. Even the side salads were delicious. Only downsides - and they are large - was the lack of any wine (or any other alcohol) available for sale as they are apparently still waiting to obtain liquor license even after being open for 8-9 months and the lack of any dessert options. These can both be solved and hopefully the owners/managers address these ASAP. Service was pleasant and efficient. read more

Very busy and fairly new. Ordered a NY strip which was a very good cut, but over cooked from the medium rare ordered. Was not checked on until mostly eaten. Since so tender I didn't make waves. The asparagus and broccoli I also ordered was very good. Potential to give 5 stars if steak was cooked more to order. read more

Great service, great food, we definitely will try again! Was looking for something different and it hit the spot!

We were passing through town (not locals) and Yelp searched this restaurant. Reviews were good so we took a chance. Lovely ambience. Nice padded chairs, cloth napkins, elbow space between tables. Sports on TV. Not busy at the time (2pm). Immediately greeted and seated in a comfortable place by a very pleasant young lady. The place is very clean. Staff nicely attentive. I had the shrimp salad. It's very generous with 9 lather plump grilled shrimp- each too big for one bite. I cut mine into 2 or3 bites each. Excellent Greek dressing. I could not quite finish it. Really a lovely place. I would highly recommend it. read more
