Quick footed too. Have a follow up on a possible leak. Added a whooping 5lbs of Freon. Yikes. You'll never find it cheap, but they discounted the first couple pounds before you got hit with the $130/lb. Overall, happy. Fyi if you have a zoned system with dampers installed you can not use the dehumidifier nor the venting function nor can you view the run times of your ac Units. I have used Lee Thompson company for years because they really earned my business. They have provided good advice on repairing versus replacing and eked out twos years of additional service from an older unit. They are on time, work hard, honor warranties, and added additional life to my units. After the last repair on a unit installed by a competitor, I thought I'd only get one more year out of it but Dustin Smith worked around the problem and the unit lasted twice as long as I expected. I am using Lee Thompson to replace this unit because Dustin priced several combinations of repair and/or replacement choices. He answered my questions on price, longevity, efficiency and warranty. He is a straight shooter and excellent at repairs. Air conditioners are major purchases and I am lucky to find high quality and competency. I will continue to recommend Lee Thompson to my friends. It does not make me happy to leave this review as I was very excited to *think* I had found a really great outfit for my HVAC maintenance/repair needs. We own a 4 unit rental property & had Lee Thompson Co out to complete a botched central AC/Heat installation job on 2 of the units about 3 years ago. The experience was great even though the price was steep ($1,000 for an estimate & one day's work). Last month I had TLTCo do a HVAC inspection on a 2-zone single family residence we just purchased. Almost $200 JUST TO QUOTE hundreds of dollars worth of repairs. I believe this would be fair if the estimate were deducted from the price of the work if performed. Ironically, the AC unit in our current home failed 2 weeks ago with a fried circuit board that cost $85. TLTCo charged $124 to QUOTE $485 for the part/repair. The total cost to fix an $85 circuit board was $609. The technician was here a total of 1.5 hours (initial visit to quote & the visit to fix). Throw in 1.5 hours for travel, subtract $85 for the part & that's still $175 PER HOUR. I'm sorry but that is ludicrous... Average people don't pay over $600 for a repair of an $85 part, we shouldn't have to either. Unfortunately I was out of town during this last outage & my poor wife & 10 mo old baby are more important than anything less than "just get it fixed baby". Now I'm home & I'm pretty peeved, I feel ripped off. Once again, time to find someone else that charges REASONABLE prices. I gave 2 stars because of my first experience & to be gracious, their customer service people have been fantastic (maybe they pay them six figures...). read more

I used these guys for a quote (and am holding off on a repair for a little bit). So this is about the customer service so far of the company. Chuck Ward is their quote guy, and he came out for at least an hour to inspect my A/C system. He was just a really funny, cool guy, did a thorough job, and promptly wrote up a quote. The best part is the prices were really great. I have a friend who usually does my A/C work, but when I shared the prices with him he said they were great and encouraged me to use them. So, 5 stars for being personable, honest, and not too expensive. My only (personal) recommendation is I was quoted Amana. Not a fan of Amana, so ask about other brands they carry. read more

Very very very disappointing and unfair. Paid almost 3 k 3 years ago for a system and now they will not consider the warranty or fix for a reasonable cost?! They did attic and outside work. Their coils are all corroded, approx from 3 years ago. They do not stand by their service. They tell us we have a warranty, then quickly tell us they will not honor the warranty . Charged $99 and left. Not good. You should take better care of your customers! Very upsetting and here I thought a family run business would be the way to go + being a repeat customer. I followed him around and was asking all sorts of questions (why do this? what does this thing do? etc.,) He was patient and took the time to explain everything to me and I learned a great deal from the experience. Just called them as there is a leak in the 3yrd old Lee Thomson coil, the answer was that the WARRANTY on any parts Lee Thompson deliver and install only follows the person who purchased it. So the WARRANTY does not follow the unit itself. Think of this if you are moving house.. read more

He explained everything and was not bothered when I watched and asked questions. He freely answered them and commented on what he was looking and. Had a great experience with the Lee Thompson company. I had a very difficult problem with a residential damper control company and I literally had 4 other HVAC companies out before one of the companies recommended I call the Lee Thompson Company. Growing up in Houston, I had seen their trucks around for years and now I know why, they are very professional and know their stuff. Terrence came out first and was very knowledgeable and took his time replacing the control panel for the system. Carlos came out a couple days later to make some final adjustments since their was still a problem with how the dampers opened and he made the system work even better. Carlos is very experienced with damper control systems if that is your problem. Both times I called they were able to schedule me that day or the following day and I thought the pricing was very fair for such quality professionals. We had the compressor go out on our AC at 10 pm Thursday night. We called around and Lee Thompson Company was the first of MANY companies that could guarantee a time frame to come out on Friday. We REALLY didn't want to have to go ALL weekend without AC especially having a 3 1/2 year old and small pug that definitely need to have AC. Gilberto P. came out and he was great. Knew right away what was wrong and had the unit fixed within an hour (which included a complimentary cleaning of the outer unit). He explained what he was doing and why. He has been doing this line of work for 9+ years and seems to really have a passion for it, even in 95 degree weather. When he was writing up the ticket he explained the charges and that the company (to remain unnamed) that he used to work for charged double what they charge for the same part. That really made me food that I was getting a great value. I forgot to give him a coupon that I found on Angie's list and called immediately after he left. I spoke to Dusty, and she said that it would be no problem to still use the coupon. Overall they all seem really professional, friendly, and super knowledgeable. I would DEFINATELY recommend them and will be using them in the future for regular AC/ Heating checkups and repairs if needed. read more

The service manager was courteous and seemed genuinely concerned with my problem. The technician was prompt, informative, and quick. Everyone was so nice.
