This restaurant unfortunately did not meet my expectations. Upon my arrival . I was greeted by the hostess who was very nice and had my table reserved which set the stage for a promising experience. The ambiance was very warm and had a Cohesive design and décor that was very attractive. I ordered The unlimited Mimosas, The Short stack pancakes , and ALOO BENNY, AND THE BUTTER CHICKEN*. The Mimosa were a big letdown In the beginning. It was super sweet and full of juice but with my modifications per request, in the end the bartender got it right. Being NYCs pancake connoisseur my expectations were pretty high when it came to the pancakes but was completely underwhelmed. First and foremost the pancakes bore no resemblance to their only online portrayal. The pancakes were thin and slightly tough to cut, it tasted as if the pancake mix were from a box. However, the Aloo Benny was win , savory and flavorful, aside from the English muffin been tough to cut through. I was also very impressed with the hollandaise sauce, It was rich and buttery and the poached egg was perfectly cooked. The butter chicken was decent but definitely an acquired taste. Indian fusion bar food? Yes, please! When my food-loving friend mentioned a bar near my 'hood that boasts Indian inspired bar food, I knew I had to check it out. After looking TLS up on Yelp and seeing that they had a soft opening recently, I was even more hyped to give them a try and the short five minute drive made it even more enticing. Hubbs, my mini me and I met up with our friends to try a variety of what they were offering on their limited menu (their full menu is now available) and to chat it up with, Raji, one of the owners, and their bartender (I forgot his name but he is very chill and was very accommodating...you rock, my guy!) about the food and what was to come. This is a family-owned establishment (Yay! Small Business) and Raji regaled us with descriptions of her mother's cooking, the inspiration for the menu. They definitely have a special thing here. There is plenty of metered street parking and they're located under the 1 train station at, take a guess....The Last Stop (see what I did there?). They are super casual and it feels like a den/man cave/she shed inside with all the wood, which I like. They have two big television screens right above the bar, ready with the games on. All the tables are cocktail high tops so this is definitely a hang out spot to visit with friends. I am happy to have tried them out now because I know for sure they'll be packed regularly, once word of mouth sets in. Their reasonably-priced HH includes beer on tap, wine and house cocktails; you can also get wings for $1 each. Grub Rundown: Wings: they serve some hefty wings and every flavor we tried was great. Of course the favorite were the butter wings but both the honey bbq and the buffalo varieties were good. Fries: we got the masala seasoned fries which were outstanding! I love the spice and they have a l'il kick...I can't wait to try them again with a special sauce. Jalapeño Samosas: these mini fried satchels are filled with tons of flavor and served with their green chutney. Paneer Kati Rolls: these remind me of mini roti but filled with Indian paneer cheese. They also have them with chicken but since we had so many wings we decided to try something different. My friend also had an order of their Butter Chicken Sampler that comes with a side of rice, pita and a salad. Raji told us about the brunch they'll be offering which will have an AYCD option! I checked out the menu which she explained still housed some dishes from the diner that was the former establishment so that regulars could still feel at home within the new transformation. Yea, so...I'm definitely coming back and if you're gonna give them a try, just don't bring too may people too soon because I'd like to at least try out the most of the menu before I find myself having to wait for a table which I gather will likely be in the near future because you won't find the special dishes from their menu that they've managed to make casual, anywhere else for miles. read more

My sister and I went impromptu on Friday (3/24) evening, close to 6:45pm. It was lovely and we arrived at just the right time. Diverse crowd, nice people, awesome bartenders/servers - Genesis and Andrés - made the most delicious margaritas; we especially loved the coconut margaritas! The yumminess didn't end there - we had the sliders and nachos and both options were scrumptious. The burgers were perfectly medium well, juicy with a slight char served on a soft buttery bun. Each and every nacho was covered - that's rare! Oh, Happy Hour is until 7pm, so we got 4 drinks in (orderd) and the meals before it ended. We appreciated Genesis reminding us to get another drink before 7pm if we wanted to - very thoughtful of her, and we definitely took advantage of it. Taco Tuesday was a great time! Went out with some friends for dinner during the week and this place has prices that won't be beat on food and drink. The tacos were absolutely delicious and full. The vibes here are beautiful and inviting too. I came here one time before with my wife for a drink and loved it and knew we had to come back for dinner. Unfortunately because of the cheap drinks and food around the corner from a college, this place was packed and the staff was running around. This made ordering things pretty lengthy, but all the staff members were still great. You also can't make a reservation, so next time we definitely have to come earlier. First of all, the server was really nice and sweet, and the establishment was clean and nicely decorated. But... the food... One dining companion ordered a veggie burger and fries. The fries were standard issue frozen waffle fries. The veggie burger was a standard issue frozen Dr. Praeger's. Another companion ordered chicken and waffles, which were tasty enough. The worst part of the meal was my dish, the tikka masala flatbread. It arrived much later than the other two people's entrees. They waited for me at first, but then I told them go ahead, don't let your food get cold. And though I did not order the flatbread with chicken, it had chicken on it, which I discovered after a couple of bites into it. This was a rather yucko experience for a vegetarian. I remember when this use to be the old Short Stop Diner. Now turned into a new bar. The Last Stop brings a fresh alternative to the traditional pubs in the area. Conveniently located on the last stop on the 1 train. (You see what I did there). They have a good selection of beers on tap and the menu has lots of bar food options. If you happen to stop by definitely try the wings. My two favorites were butter chicken and sweet chili wings! Friendly and attentive staff. The owner came over while we were eating and introduced himself. He interacted with us throughout our meal. Very down to earth and welcoming. Overall a cool bar with good mix of music. I decided to do things a little differently this year for my birthday and decided to give this bar that I come to whenever I am in the Bronx a shot to coordinate my birthday celebration. I came here last night for my birthday celebration and to watch the Michigan Wolverines trample Iowa last night and I can say that it was an amazing experience. I came here around 8PM last night and had a reservation for about 16-20 people last night. Even though my friends are tardy as usual, I got here early to watch the game. As soon as I got through the door, the lovely hostess Hazel said "happy birthday and we have everything ready for you." I was like damn that is so personable and thank you!!! So service off of the bat (5/5). Since none of my party was there yet, me, my girlfriend and our close friend ordered some dinner and drinks. Adam and Louis the bartenders behind the bar came by to also wish me a happy birthday and was genuinely interested in knowing about the Michigan and Iowa game. They put on the game on the TVs for my friend group and I can honestly say (5/5) service again. In terms of food, it was amazing. I have always told people this that when you go to a bar like this, order things that are unique to the establishment. For appetizers I had the jalapeño samosas and masala fries which were amazing (5/5). For the main course, I had the Cauliflower Tacos. The tacos are unique because of the desi flair to it. It was seasoned well and I think the green sauce was chutney which was amazing (5/5). My friends (who are desi) who came and ate meat ordered the Butter Chicken Wings and the Butter Mac n Cheese. They said wow this is unique and amazing. They themselves gave it a (5/5). The drinks we ordered was mostly beer and they have a great beer selection. They do have additional beers that are not on the wall behind the bar and it never hurts to ask!!! We were a large party & were seated inside on the picnic tables near the window - they were very covid safe. Adam, the bartender makes the best cocktails. Tried to make reservations on their website, it didn't work. I DM them asking to reserve for Sunday brunch for 3 ppl. They got back to me and said I can just walk in for 3 ppl. I felt sketchy about this response. I always rather reserve for I won't come across any issues. Once we arrived at 2pm the host told us to wait 25-30 minutes. We ended up actually waiting for 1 hour then we go ask again and she says to wait another 25 minutes! We decided to go to another location near by and see if they can take us. This is a great new addition to North Riverdale. About a decade ago when the alehouse first opened up, I had remarked that it was the first in many changes in the area and for a restaurant to succeed anymore it would have to meet this new standard. The Last Stop has only been open about 2 months and has shown that it's in the caliber of the other great spots in the area like the alehouse, the social club, blackstone, the bronx public, etc. The obvious thing to ask is with all these other great local spots, what does The Last Stop have to offer? For starters the family has decades of experience serving the area. This space was formerly The Short Stop diner which was local to diners looking for great homestyle meals. The same family has now reinvented the space into a local beer bar / gastropub / sportsbar style place but they set themselves apart from your typical bar with their menu. They seem to have an south-asian fusion thing going on with home-recipe inspired menu items that you won't see at any other bar. Everyone will probably post about the butter wings, because they're worth repeating; they're awesome. The samosa's are great as well -- bite size for sharing and not greasy at all. The kati roll and bombay sandwich are also great indian-inspired dishes. For those who don't like indian food they have decent burgers and other menu items like tacos that should make most people happy. The menu is a bit small but perfectly sized considering they've just opened (personally, I'm hoping they expand on the indian-inspired offerings). They have a large selection of beer on draught with 24 taps, and a good selection of bourbon. I'm not a mixed drink person so I'll let someone else vouch there. The vibe is good. So far it's still quiet on Monday and Tuesdays, but with Game Night on Wednesdays and DJ's on Thursday's (and I think over the weekend) the place can draw a very diverse crowd. My husband and I came here for their soft opening, so limited menu, but everything we had was great! This place is a pub meets Indian food. Let's start though with the interior of the place. Beautiful space. All high top tables, but with seats with backs (rather then stools). Music was loud, but I could still hear my husband just fine. Their wait staff was super attentive and friendly. Order was taken quickly and we got everything super quick! Large selection of beers on tap. For food, we got 2 of the Kati rolls, one chicken and one paneer. Really good. Nice spice on the chicken! They forgot to bring us the mango chutney for them until after they'd been devoured, but it just gave us an excuse to order butter chicken wings to douse in the chutney. We had the butter chicken sampler too. Not sure why it was called a sampler---it was a serving of butter chicken with rice. The chicken itself was great, the rice was ok--nothing special. The Last Stop just opened up in my neighborhood, I about 6 weeks now. It is a great addition to the north west part of The Bronx. The food is Indian-fusion, a long with your regular bar food. The reviews on here rave about the butter chicken wings and the butter chicken itself and trust me the reviews are on point. The butter chicken is one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. The recipe is all home made, that's why when you're eating it it doesn't seem like it's from a restaurant. My most recent time in here, I tried the hangover burger. The burger was cooked perfectly, with a runny egg and crispy bacon. There was chipotle mayo on the burger so it gave it a little kick. The ambiance in here is very rustic. They have wood walls and exposed bricks which give it a very cozy and homey feel. The drinks are very well priced and the service has been phenomenal every time I've been in here. Okay so I really wanted to love this place because I've been eyeing it for awhile. They also have a fridge outside their establishment for the community that allows people to donate food and take food for anyone in need which is super dope. They were featured on the news as well. Atmosphere is great and that's what allowed me to put the 3 stars. They play great music, a mixture of afrobeats, reggae, hip hop and R&B. I loved the vibe. The drinks were good as well. However, our drink order was messed up twice but they were excellent with fixing it to what we actually ordered. The service could be better. Good service goes a long way and although they added automatic gratuity for a party of 2, we love to tip extra for great service. They gave us our check without asking us if we wanted anything else. We felt rushed by our servers because they wanted to give our table away. Now the food. I had the 12 wings for 15$ and they allowed me to get 2 different flavors. Based on other reviews I tried the butter chicken and garlic Parmesan. The wings were a bit mushy. I wouldn't order them again. No crisp at all and I will share a picture which says it all. Although I wasn't crazy about my first time here I'm willing to give this place another chance because the music is so awesome. There's nothing like having a drink with great music being played. The tacos are delicious and so are the margaritas. Music is great. However, I went last Wednesday to hang out with my sisters and we saw a roach on the table while we were eating. Additionally, the waitress had to correct our check twice because we had food that we didn't order there.
