I've been Grubhubbing from these guys all through the Pandemic. The wings are my favorite! I would order the 30 wings and have them from dinner for three nights. My favorite flavor is the dry rub. The atmosphere of the establishment is very festive. It was always a treat to arrive from our graduation ceremonies at Fordham and toast the end of an academic year. Due to Covid, they have added an outdoor dining area. Very laid back compared to the blaring music inside. I had the lulled pork sliders the last time I was there. Delicious. read more

Another food delivery during COVID 19. Ordered the classic cheeseburger medium and it was juicy and cooked correctly. Melted gooey cheddar. They had a lot of other burger choices as well. Burgers could have eggs added, bacon, avocado. I got the plain fries, which are supposed to be hand cut. Seasoned well and pretty good, though they are thin fries, and I prefer thick cut. They also have curly fries available. I've ordered the quesadilla as well, which I'm waiting to have for later, but the tortilla is crisp and cheese well melted. I didn't add meat, but that is an option. Comes with guacamole and other sauces. Good portion size. Overall, if you want a good burger, I recommend. read more

This place is often frequented by Fordham students but that is expected given its proximity to the campus. I give this place 4 stars because that fried chicken sandwich is perfect! I always get the chipotle mayo on the side and dip the sandwich into it. So good! The bartenders are always so down to earth and ensure you are well taken care of. The bar area sometimes have some older gentlemen who are probably retired and have nothing else to do. Some may find them annoying but I much enjoy the stories they always share. If you go at the wrong time you could be waiting for a while to get in. Entrance with a fordham id. If you have to go to the bathroom, prepare for the worst seeing as they are quite gross. They make a killer margarita but you should split it with a couple people because it's quite huge. Their food is also not bad. They have good dance music, and room to dance unlike other fordham bars, I hear the floors are slippery so brace yourself. It's usually 10$ to get in which is kind of pricey for what you're getting. I visited Howl at the Moon on May 10th, 2019 with a friend. They wanted to go out for a drink and quick bite to eat without having to travel too far or into Manhattan. Since I live in the Bronx, I figured that this would be a decent spot. I was clearly mistaken. We sat at high chairs across the floor from the bar. We both ordered mediocre appetizers which didn't bother me as I didn't really expect a stellar meal. We then each got a drink which, again, were mediocre. I paid for both my friend and myself and we left shortly after. However, this isn't my issue. By May 13th, there were a number of false charges on my card--ridiculously far and expensive Uber rides, two Playstation Network charges and another $250 that was sent from my account to someone else. We were seated so far from the bar, there's no way that I could've seen what the bartender was doing, perhaps I should've followed. I'm not sure why they thought to target us/me. Perhaps they thought we were naive college students with money to spare, but this is far from the truth. We're just native NYers trying to support a local business. I've gotten my money back so I'm not seeking justice from the owners at this point, I just want to put my story out there so other potential patrons are wary. However, this experience coupled with the weak drinks and mediocre food has encouraged me to seek other Bronx establishments worthy of my business. read more

Howl is a bar with very mediocre food which is by far it's best quality. I could write an entire essay on what's wrong with this place but I've narrowed it down to three main faults: the establishment itself, the prices, and the god awful staff. First, the bar after 1030 is overcrowded and full of underaged college children. Right away that's a major red flag but it's a college bar so I guess it gets a pass. Worse though, the floor are ALWAYS sticky. I assume this is spilled drinks but I would bet my life's savings that it has never mopped this place since its opening. Second, the prices are egregious. Every drink bought is money spent on purely soda. $8 jagerbomb? That's $8 on a shot of red bull. Last, the staff. Holy mother of god, the staff is genuinely among the worst people I've ever met. Not just in customer service, I mean in general. The people who are in charge of the door are rude and incredibly condescending. They rake people over the coals with cover charges and discriminate people based on their outfits/gender/color. Yes color. All in all this place is at its best garbage watering hole, and at its worst a destruction of your time, money, and dignity. There are other bars around the corner. *Disclaimer* I worked here 5 years ago for approximately 2 months. I realized that I was never going to learn how to bartend, and the owners were never going to learn my name. It is a typical college bar on Arthur Ave for all of the Fordham kids. The place meshes 8 tacky themes into a small bar, including 'tiki beach,' 'sports mecca,' 'dive bar,' and 'italian pride.' It looks like they went to a Party Decoration store and just bought whatever was on sale. Obviously the food is not good. Their 'famous wings' actually made my partner SICK last night!! He got BBQ wings and felt horrendous a few hours later and we had eaten nothing else. I'd say stay away from all their food and just drink beer. The happy hours are fine and due to the college bar guidelines that they follow, you can buy a pitcher of beer for $6-8. Unless you work in the area or go to Fordham there's really no reason to go. We were attempting to have a walk down memory lane. No outdoor seating and in the summer its never crowded. Also the "bathrooms" have curtains as doors and are smaller than my NYC closet. The curtains are quite uncomfortable and reveal you more than you'd probably planned. read more

I'm a college student, who needs to get drunk once in a while. One night last wekk, my friends and I decided to check out Tribar, the three-bar "triangle" in the Bronx where all the Fordham kids go. We went to howl because it wasn't as packed as Mugzs or Ziggys, but I don't like it more than the other two. After paying the ridiculous $15 cover to get in, we found out that a drink-up was going on and we didnt have any wristbands. Pissed off, we decided what we were going to do next. I decided that, since this is the only bar that serves food. Id try some of their nachos. At $9, it was expensive, but at least the nachos were plentiful, and actually fairly decent. Granted, the jalapenos were canned, the guacamole was preservative-laced, and the cheese wasn't fully melted, but it was all right as a bar snack, but not at the price of $9 i can assure you. I will probably go back there, or dragged there as the case will probably be, but based on that night, it isn't exactly a place I put on my bar crawl list. read more

Went with a friend to watch the super bowl. Decent neighborhood bar. Mostly a hangout for Fordham students. Friendly, helpful staff, when you can get their attention... Had the buffalo wings, Caribbean jerky and mild. taste was great, chicken was a little dry. Couple of beers, gin and tonic, vodka cranberry... no complaints with the drink. Price is pretty decent. I went here after work with some coworkers. The ambience was cool with palm trees and the wait staff was pleasant and attentive. I had 2 screwdrivers at 5 bucks a pop and chicken fingers with curly fries. There was nothing unique about the quality or style of this place BUT it's a cool place to enjoy your group over cocktails and food in the late afternoon for sure! This is a place I come to often. All the bartenders are really cool and this is the ONLY place I've ever been to where EVERYTHING on the menu is great. Doesn't matter if it's the calamari, ribs, burgers, or pasta. Everything is great. The drinks are solid, I usually get the howl's lemonade to start. Contrary to a previous review the "little girl with the braces" is not the worst. I've never had a bad experience here. Highly recommended and will definitely keep coming back!! read more

I attended this pub for the 2nd time and after spending at least $100 on beers/ food, I was told by security I had to leave because it was a Fordham only event...I told them I was a Fordham alumni but security told me it was only for current students. I asked if there was any fees I could pay in order to stay since the students entering the pub were paying $15 and the security guard told me in order to stay I had to pay a $55 fee....I did leave the bar in order to avoid getting thrown out the bar, because there is no way I was paying $55 and I did give my few extra words of annoyance to security and they went to get the police...I just left to avoid another situation but I definitely left with anger because why would a business organize an event and tell customers to leave because it's only for Fordham students shows a lack of organization/management and disrespect. read more

Solid wings and cheap beer, this was our college haunt in the vanuted "tri-bar" area. They began to raise prices and tried to make the place go from dive to chic (without replacing any of the decor) and charging a cover, so I went less and less before I graduated. Locally owned, and there was a huge Sharks vs. Jets street fight outside my last night of college, something I sadly will never forget. I also fondly recall "DJ iPod" as we dubbed him, he of never playing real music on turntables, only blasting the latest Pitbull jam through some speakers on his portable music player.
