Stopped in for a cold one after dinner and had a great time talking to locals on a Saturday night. Bartender very attentive and helpful with directions read more

We wanted to love it. A lot of our friends rave about this place! It does have a nice set up for kids and a crowd, but I guess I don't dig charred pizza. And the toppings sounded interesting, but in reality, it just tasted weird...mostly too sweet. At $14/pie, I should be singing with joy at the flavor, but alas, it wasn't happening for me. read more

Cute and spacious outdoor space for safe, socially distant dining. We had the pizzas which were really delicious! Good craft beer selection as well. read more

This place was recommended by friends of ours for pizza. We decided to go on a Wednesday night. Little did we know, they ONLY have one menu item on Wednesdays which consisted of JUST burritos, no pizza. Beef or veggie were the options. You place your order with the bartender and the rest is up to you. Dive bar atmosphere with a more pleasant outside ambiance with a small fire pit. Plastic utensils, napkins and condiment, you had to get yourself. None of this was explained to us as we were walking in. Bartender said she was new and the margarita she made me tasted like lime juice which she attempted to charge me $15 for. Hopefully the pizza experience will be better. read more

This place has been a Friday family happy hour staple! What more could parents ask for: amazing food , outdoor beers, a fire pit and a bouncy castle! The pizza is a must but the burgers wings fries and salad are too! It's a great group of people that you will find hanging out long after they have finished their dinner. read more

I so looked forward to trying the Lantern pizza for the first time. What a disappointment! It was all dough, a smear of orange tomato sauce, 2 maybe 3 chopped Basil leaves, a few puddles of mystery thin cheese, and 2 tablespoons of sausage... maybe! Tasteless! A $15 ripoff. read more

I take the train back & forth to NYC everyday from Wassaic & noticed The Lantern Inn from my window earlier this year. Finally got around to checking it out a few weeks ago and am sorry I didn't sooner. The kale pizza is deeelish! Great beer on draft (I'm very picky; ecstatic they had Lagunitas) & the bartender was a hoot! This will be our local watering hole for sure. Will definitely hit it up during the Wassaic Project. read more

Visited on a snowy day over the New Years weekend for a quick daycation. I had already messaged Jeff about whether they'd be open and he got back to me quickly. Walked in, met Cassie and Peter, and we were sure our trip would be a winner. First, the excellent wood fired pizzas and the bar selection was better than most would expect in Wassaic. But what makes a difference is the people. Let's put it this way: we ended up swapping contact info with the gang! I think Cassie is going to be our houseguest before long. Thanks Peter for the ride to the train after we'd had too much to care. Best possible way to spend a day in Wassaic. We will certainly be back! read more

I hate to draw anyone else to this great place - because I will have to wait longer for a table - but definitely GO and ENJOY - great selections at the bar - AMAZING pizza and burgers. read more

Wonderful experience! The Lantern is located in a really quaint and picturesque town. The pizza is amazing and the beer selection is pretty good. They have a pool table that we used for a while which was nice as well. I would definitely recommend. read more

We a few different pizza selections and my friends liked it but I did not. I really don't care for the char/ash on pizza. That's just me. It really made it seem like it was dipped in coal ash. I'll get something different next time bc it's a cozy, friendly atmosphere. read more

One of my favorite places on the up to the Berkshires. Beer and drinks at the bar. Walk up counter to order food. You must try the burger and wings. The kids loved the thin crust pizza. The house salad are exceptional for a bar. Lots of locals so you know this place is great. read more

Delicious pizza! The only place in the area to get neopolitan style pizza. I've tried all the ones they serve and they're all excellent. I only wish they had them in bigger sizes and the kitchen was open more often... read more

love such a cool, relaxing place to eat.. love the Kale pizza! Everyone must try! (Only thing they need to have pineapple juice for drinks) read more

Excellent food. We drive 30 minutes for the pizza here. Would easily be 5 stars if it weren't for the rude service at the bar where the drinks are horrendously overpriced for the area. The food is pricey too but worth it. read more

Great little bar in an area that is lacking in good watering holes. I frequently stop in on my way home from work. The staff is friendly and the owners are extremely sweet. My only complaint is I wish they stayed open later and served food more often. But these are small infractions of an otherwise charming establishment. read more

LOVE the lantern. Wood fired pizza is consistently delicious, flavorful and has the perfect balance of doughy to crisp. Kale pizza and Carbonara are serious favorites. Rivals what I had back in Brookyln. Draft beer selection? Never disappointing. Burger and fries? Oh so satisfying, every time. I am not a big wings eater, but here, I go for it. And the new ramen is oh so comforting and savory. There is even a growing wine selection with simple, but considered options. Great service, feels like hanging out in your living room, but with so much deliciousness at your fingertips, good vibes, and fantastic people. Super lucky to have this gem in our neighborhood. You couldn't keep me away! read more

We come here a lot with our kids. But we had an awful experience tonight. We ordered several pizzas and apps. Apps arrived and we waited for the pizzas. While we waited, people who ordered after us were served, ate and finished. When we brought up the long wait, we were told that our order had somehow been lost and they they had now run out of pizza dough but that we could get burgers. No apology. When we complained, they offered to comp our small bar bill. Burgers were another long wait, were deposited on our table rudely (even aggressively), were overcooked and on cold uncooked buns. Again no apology. Servers acted as if we had done something wrong. Miriam (?) tried to make up for it and offered an apology at the end. She didn't seem surprised at the surly servers. I'm sure this was not a first. Mistakes happen, but it's how you respond to them that demonstrates what kind of restaurant you are and where your values lie. read more

For selfish reasons we wanted this place to be great from day one, and they have never disappointed. They just keeping upping their game. We eat here regularly, and sometimes we have random ideas about how they could improve things, and then we come back two weeks later and they have already implemented them. They clearly know about food, understand their clientele, and pay attention. Well done, friends. read more

The Lantern not only has amazing pizza and salads for reasonable prices, but really the most enjoyable atmosphere in the area. The new outdoor seating area is just so nice, perfect for kids and grown-ups alike. We like to go on Friday nights in summer when we pick someone up at the Wassaic train station. Great crowd -- locals, Brooklyn hipsters, families, weekenders, artists, Appalachian Trail hikers, just everyone having a good time together. Wish we were closer! Also wish they served weekend lunch. read more

I love the Lantern Inn. We don't get there very often, but it's always worth the trip. The pizza is amazing and it's just a super inviting and chill atmosphere. Nice people. Nice Place. Highly recommend! read more

Great place to go for dinner if you are picking up someone at the station. We went two times over the past few weeks. Pizzas are really good. Second time the outdoor area was open, and we had burgers and fries. Both excellent. Fast friendly service. read more

Worst burger and service around overpriced better off at Burger King dirty ,no hair net burnt food, would rather eat off the dollar menu. We had four meals all were bad and the service was poor and cranky. read more

Awesome outside area and family atmosphere. Wait staff was overwhelmed and not the best. Very short but I think it was because of the rush

I got the rattlesnake pie and some wings... and they were both excellent! They were extremely friendly Believe in the patrons in the bar were extremely nice. I would definitely eat there again and would even consider going there and having a cocktail or two read more

After being contacted by another customer and the owner, we decided to give the Lantern another try, and I'm glad we did. The pizza was great! Service was friendly, and it was well worth it! read more

This bar and sit down establishment is great. We visited from out of town and were glad we did. The atmosphere reminds me of a ski resort with the wood walls and long tables. The food we ordered was great. We ordered the Rattlesnake pie and a dozen wings which was perfect for two people to share. The staff was very helpful and kind. read more

Great wood-fired pizzas with interesting combinations of toppings. The quality of the pizza is on the level with the best artisanal pizza restaurants I've been to. The menu is very limited other than pizza (and including the pizza options) but I've also had the excellent salads. There is a lively bar scene, a real mix of locals and weekenders. The atmosphere is very relaxed and there are many families and kids. You order at a window. I'm sure the casualness (and limited hours and options) isn't for everyone but our family loves how relaxed if is - and even if we didn't like the atmosphere we would still go for the pizza. read more
