Pizza is substantively better than competitors however this is offset by the staff. Have visited seven times and the bartender has an unwavering dour disposition. Surely they could find a more customer-friendly employee for this role. It is a critical point of contact and presently deeply flawed. Normally the staff who answer the phone for take-out are quite pleasant but we've encountered some really ill-equipped kids in this role that simply don't know what they're doing. After numerous negative on-site dining experiences that were suboptimal, the take-out process now appears to be faltering as well. Regrettably, while I once heartily recommended Ollie's I believe they now have systemic service quality issues which, while insidious, are not intractable. Hopefully, there will be some staff changes. read more

From the people behind Eliza, Fletcher & Lu and one other, Ollie's Pizza in High Falls, NY, has paved the way for success- and it delivers. And they know it. Plus these folks say it loud and proud that they're the first born; not Eliza- their sister restaurant over in Kingston which we love. We moseyed through back roads to familiarize ourselves then noticed Ollie's without even planning it. Just then, I realized Ollie's is sitting on an antique+vintage black barn shop I visited several years back. Anyhow. I love a good ol' slice- but I've mentioned a bunch of times that I also love a Neapolitan-style pie. From air bubbles, thin- but not too thin triangle, chewy- but not gummy crust and charred marks- that are just perfect. Folks, if you're looking for a pie like that, this is a must-visit. From the gravel picnic-style area to inside, Ollie's P. gives off that little je ne sais quoi that you won't find anywhere else- especially in these sticks. My White Pie with 3 cheeses and caramelized onions was so good- everything worked together for a flavorful bite after bite and hubs devoured his Margherita with pepperoni add-on. They also offer cacio e pepe arancini, roasted broccolini, salads, sandwiches, etc- if you prefer something other than pizza. My pro tip would be to order a pizza- I mean....you're here already and honestly, you won't regret it. Service was phenomenal and so was my Shirley Temple. read more

We were greeted with a smiling face as the hostess welcomed us to the establishment. We brought our dog with us and we're a little nervous, but the tables are very spaced out that each customer has their own area. We started our service off with the glazed, hot honey wings, followed by a Caesar salad and the white pie pizza with pepperoni. I included photos of all the food except the pizza because we got too hungry and I forgot to take a picture of it, lol. Overall great service and a dog friendly establishment! For the outrageous prices, the service is subpar at best. We ordered two pizzas, two orders of wings, and one salad. We paid 135 before tip. Pizzas were just average taste wise. Small. Soggy. 22 an order for normal, basic wings. We weren't greeted when we arrived by the host outside. We went inside and no one was at any table. And we still weren't greeted. We went to the bar to sit. We ended up at a table. The hostess was rude to us. The bartender was dismissive. We were asked to move to a different table - again, no one was seated at any table. It was odd. Like there were rules that no one knew or stated. Really not worry the price for food quality nor service. This place has the best pizza in the Hudson Valley. Super thin crust and perfectly done each time we visit. The salad is also amazing and always super fresh. You can choose to eat outside at the picnic tables or inside. Outside has an ordering counter but inside has waitstaff. Most of the wait staff is amazing. My friends and I were really pleasantly surprised by how good the pizza from this little spot was. The thin crust had a little bit of char and a subtle smoky and saltiness that went well with our pizza choices. Our favorite was the upside down margarita, which they recommended we get. We were pleasantly surprised with this place during a trip upstate. Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday and it was pretty busy mostly with families eating outside. They have a nice set-up with a stand where you can order drinks and food. There's also a full restaurant inside with a view of the kitchen, but it was pretty quiet there then since it was so nice out. We shared the Ollie's Salad with added Chicken Cutlet and The Famous Onion Pizza between two of us and it was the perfect amount of food. The salad was light and fresh, the cutlet was a perfect addition for a full meal - juicy and crispy. I loved the pizza dough, so thin and chewy and the sesame seeds were an unexpected touch. I took my son and Sister here for a day trip to try out Ollies and catch Fall Foliage! We scored both successfully! I'm a fan of Best Pizza in Williamsburg and Frank is an Alma Mater of my High School St.Anthonys out in South Huntington, LI so there's that. After reading about all the Pizza Farms sprouting about all across the State and country I had to drive here from Park Slope to see and experience what this is all about. It takes a good 2 hours from Brooklyn and we arrived just at noon on a Friday. No wait l, plenty of tables for social distancing and it looked and felt like a great vibe! We went ahead and ordered a grandma style with 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 sausage and mushroom in addition to a classic round margherita pie and some beers and juice. They give you a number and bring everything out to your table. All clean all sanitized all felt safe. The pizzas came out and boy were we impressed . They both tasted delicious looked incredible and tasted phenomenal. All in the till came to about $80 so for sure not cheap but considering the quality, atmosphere it was expected and well worth it. Had a really bad experience with a waitperson. We were the only ones in the restaurant and made the mistake of bringing in an open can of seltzer. After we ordered, the waitperson came over very aggressively and demanded to know if we had poured the seltzer into one of their glasses. She was unhinged. Dissatisfied with our response, she grabbed a carafe of house seltzer and pushed her way over to pour the house seltzer into the seltzer we had brought in basically ruining the drink we had. Then she started lecturing us nonstop about bringing in outside food (which we didn't) and again when she brought the check over (she couldn't let it go). We were quite taken aback at her behavior and decided never to return again. We had been there quite a few times since the pandemic, and even though the place is drafty and cold, and the music often blares loudly, the food was generally acceptable. The waitperson told us never to return, and said she would advise the other staff to make sure we couldn't come back. We had some leftovers but dumped them in the garbage because we weren't sure if she had adulterated our food out of spite. We just couldn't be sure. We are an elderly couple and have never been treated this way anywhere, ever. I don't know what triggered the waitress, but when we brought the matter to the owner's attention, she took the waitresses side and defended her actions and attitude because we brought a can of seltzer from our car to the restaurant. There is something truly wrong with the ethic at this place. We plan to stay away and never return. I see other people have also had trouble with the staff there. Winter getaway we found Olies. Very cool vibe in the more remote upstate NY area. Cozy & warm interior that garners a healthy gathering of people. The brick oven pizza was on point and the wait staff and bar were all great as well - Mentionable: they end the meal by giving you a cool post card. We were staying at a nearby Airbnb and went in on a deathly hot summer night to get some take out. We ordered all three salads and three pizzas. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've had, the wedge was equally classic and delicious. The Ollie's salad was also good but would benefit from adding fresh oranges to elevate and create a traditional Sicilian palate. Every pizza was delicious, the classic onion was the stand out. It was a beautiful sunny warm evening and all tables had the adjustable umbrellas. We ordered two of their non alcoholic drinks - the strawberry shrub and the lemon dill and mint spritzer, both were refreshing and delicious. This place is a great addition to the pizza scene in Ulster County and well worth the drive from New Paltz. We had the luxury of checking this place out on a warm Sunday afternoon in December. We had a half bottle of wine from the previous night and they were gracious enough to left us drink our BYOB wine.
