So if you have lived on the west side of Providence for a while, you surely are aware of the legend…read morethat was the E & O . So, I was understandably hesitant about a new bar moving into what was considered by many to be hallowed ground. Since I walk by it on my way home from work, I decided to stop in soon after it first opened to see what it was like. And now I am a regular and it's one of my favorite watering holes in the city. Super cool atmosphere, with tons of horror movie memorabilia on the walls. A couple of pinball machines ( including a brand new Evil Dead one which is really sweet), and neat liitle outback area for nicer days. They also occasionally have music and drag shows inside, and in the summer months cool shows outside in the parking lot next door. You can also grab a grilled cheese or a hot dog from Puggles Grilled Cheese most days of the week if you're feeling peckish. And my favorite thing... PICKLEBACKS.... !!!! All the drinks are cheap and they have a good selection of beers and ciders. Maybe most importantly, the owners Jeff and Courtney are absolutely lovely people who really understood keeping the locals vibe of the E & O era but also being it's own thing. Definitely support this great establishment.

They also have a great jukebox. Bartenders are friendly and quick. There's usually some kind of punch available with a name like Ecto-cooler which is a weird color but completely delicious if you're into that sort of thing. They sometimes have pop-ups there, one time they had fancy grilled cheese sandwiches. Definitely a fun spot! It's pretty small inside so just know that and don't roll in with a huge crew...

It's best for small groups (no more than 4-5). I love the customer service here: our server explained the alcohol as we got each of our cocktails. I will admit, though, because I'm slightly hard of hearing, I missed a lot of the explanations, but that's ok. I came in a group of four and we all took sips of each other's drinks and that was really fun! Every drink was great, but I do favor my sake drink, white port/cream soda cocktail, the vermouth, and the one with the amaretto. Don't expect the menus to be the same as in this review! They do change it frequently and have non-alcoholic mocktails, too. We heard about this place from coworkers and that they had won an award for best new bar--an award that's well-deserved.

First the hostess / doorman really helps set the mood with his calm, soft spoken demeanor. Once inside the lighting is dim, the space is washed in a pink pastel hue and you realize how small the space really is, 16ish seats. The menu is short but you have the option to order "off menu" and we are so glad we did. We had a little interview with our server for what we were looking for and none of the custom cocktails were a disappointment. This was great as a double date venue and we cannot wait to come back. A really incredible experience and the team clearly works very hard.

I was lucky to have tried North when it was open so when I saw the former chefs were preparing the meal for Chef Night, I knew I had to sign up and was so glad I did. The meal was stupendous! The first course was shrimp and corn fritters. The fritters were filled with shrimp and corn and you can visually see the shrimp and corn. It wasn't overly doughy and the sauce was delicious! Chef Andrew described the dish and he told us that the shrimp was locally sourced from Dune Brothers. The second course was noodles with tomato and pepper dashi and grilled fish. The noodles were fresh, but it started to get a little clumpy. The dashi was really flavorful. The third course was miso tres leches cake with sakura whipped cream. This course I was the most excited about and it totally blew my expectations. Chef Andrew told us that they hand picked sakura petals and made their own whipped cream. The tres leches cake was moist, dense, and airy. The dessert was definitely the star of the show. Bravo to chefs Andrew McQuesten and Stephen Sternkopf for a wonderful locally sourced meal. Jean-Marc and the other bartender were also very friendly and accommodating. They checked on all the customers throughout the night and made yummy drinks. I had the Toasted Venture. This is one of the signature cocktails and has Toasted Pumpkin Seed-Infused Misguided Spirits Red Sky Silver Rum/Cynar/St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur/Rosemary Elixir/Mole Bitters. It was very good. A time at Clementine's is always wonderful.

A lovely woman in the restroom overheard my friend and I unsure on where to venture, and she suggested this place! Moody and welcoming. Absolutely loved it. We went in ~10:45 on a Wednesday pm. Apparently they do live jazz weekly as well, but we'd come too late. A handful of bar patrons, a couple making out in the back of the dining room at their cute table, a lovely bartender, me& my bff. We really hit the jackpot for ambiance last night. Decor in there is so cute. I wish I took a picture of the table lamp on the bar. It was embellished with beads hanging on the rim of the shade. Our drinks were top notch. Mine was a citrus vanilla profile and hers was a savory martini. The sandwich, I had one bite of it was yummy. I don't like imitation lunch meats though. CATFISH was breaded and fried fabulously. Not oily. Crispy and crunchy. So happy to have discovered this place! The bartender told us they just celebrated 6 years of business!
