I enjoyed this place very much. I have spurts of frozen yogurt fever and luckily, I have found my go to spot in the area. This place had everything I needed and a few things I wanted to try. Prices seem very standard, and the staff are quick, in and out. The parking is plenty, I've never had a problem and same goes for the interior, plenty of seats. Lacking customer service skills and a mediocre product doesn't make for the best experience. Walking in, We naturally head to the counter. 3 of us just standing there awkwardly. After a few moments, The girl says "what can I get you." Because Of course we weren't greeted or welcomed. I say " We would like some frozen yogurt" she looks at me and I then say "we've never been here before" She points to the back to show where the cups are and tells us to help ourselves and then she will weigh it for the price. The cup area wasn't organized. It was messy and overall this place wasn't the cleanest... I did not know we could get samples. Some other people asked and The girl said she would have to go from behind the counter and help with their samples. Oh you actually have to do some work, poor you... but had I known about sampling that before getting my cup, I probably wouldnt have chose the flavors that i did. The frozen yogurt was okay. There were many choices. One of the flavors lacked taste, the other was okay. The toppings didn't seem fresh. None of them were labeled so for several of them, I didnt know what was what. It was a huge letdown. My friend said he would return for another strawberry banana smoothie. I probably won't go back. Better service, especially knowing it was all of our first time, could have made this place worth giving a second chance, but I'd rather go to the grocery store, shop the freezer section and candy & cookie aisles, then create my own frozen yogurt masterpiece @ home. read more

Really great variety of flavors and toppings, even late at night the add-ins were fresh. Simple, fun, and tasty. Definitely one of my go-to summer places for frozen yogurt or milk teas. I literally come at least once a week to get their bubble tea - they make one of the best in town. Frozen yogurt and the tea are both a little bit on the pricey side but it is expected since they get a lot of service from the nearby movie theater. Staff is usually very friendly and accommodating. I haven't had a problem with any of them! The place is overall very clean - if anything the tables are occasionally sticky from spilt frozen yogurt. I was a regular at Kiwi Spoon's original location and was excited for the move to the old Friendly's, since the parking situation is SO much better. Sadly, I've only been there a handful of times since the move, for various reasons. I found myself back there this past week for a quick froyo fix. I like the setup where the stations are all along the wall and curves over to the toppings station. It can be a little confusing if people move slowly, and we had trouble finding the whipped cream (the liquid toppings are in the middle of the other toppings). I miss the "loyalty card" program but I still think, overall, it's a good setup. Easy in and out, self-serve, and not expensive. Plus the fruit is always fresh! Great topping selections. read more

It is not my first time here as I have always loved their huge selection of rotating froyo flavors. I was extra thrilled today to find that one of the flavors offered by the brand is taro. While I was disappointed by the lack of crushed kit kats as a topping, the variety of toppings overall isn't bad. The fruit look as fresh as can be expected for a froyo parlor. What really disappointed me was the service. While I am not the most socialable person myself - I expect a little more hospitality. I could care less that the employee wants to play on her phone on her free time. Whether or not that is acceptable is management's choice. But the hot fudge dispenser was clogged and I was not offered any help. It is disgusting that the dispenser was clogged in a way that makes you question if it ever gets cleaned - much less WHEN it was last done. If this is the type of service and sanitation I see next time I am here - I rather make a further drive to have my froyo in Hamden from FroyoWorld... read more

The Açai bowls are not severed in the normal correct açaí bowls they are severed in a yogurt cup! That is clearly not big enough for it they have to stack all the fruit and granola and it over flows and spills all over it's very hard to eat!!! A couple nights ago a few friends and I went to kiwi spoon around 9:27pm. (I called prior asking what the hours were and was informed they were closing at 10pm.) We were about to pay and another couple walked in and the counter girl said "ugh just letting you know we are closing in liberally about 2 minutes". I thought I was mistaken... so now.. we were not able to sit and enjoy the froyo inside. We eat in the car. A few minutes go by and two more cars pull up. The girl sees this and runs to the door to lock I.t. The people knock on the door and I hear them say "your sign says you close at 10!" The girls inside ignore them. Four more cars pull up and the same thing happens. Do not get me wrong, the froyo was awesome. Refreshing with lots of toppings to chose from, but if I was the owner of this establishment, I would be appalled at the demeanor and laziness of these workers. The amount of business they cut off by closing a half hour early is nauseating. Rude and unprofessional. I understand why business owners can't find reliable and honest help. read more

My husband and I popped in to The Kiwi Spoon between weekend chores last weekend and we had a great time! The facility is very clean, they have at least 10 yogurt flavors and their toppings bar is the most extensive we've ever seen. They even had two types of cookie dough! Note that my review is based solely on the Bubble Tea, I did not get any of the other items that this location has to offer. I arrived around 3:30pm on a Thursday, I was welcomed by a young woman sitting behind the register with a "hello" but it was extremely forced and I didn't entirely feel like she was crazy to see me. I ordered a Mocha Cafe bubble tea with Tapioca pearls (closest thing they have to a coffee flavor). I paid for my drink (which was a reasonable price as far as the size of the cup) with a debit card, but was not asked for a signature and i was not offered a copy of my receipt (which I found to be pretty odd). As far as the actual product is concerned... it was chalky. I had a hard time deciding what the flavor actually was.. it tasted like normal chocolate milk... The tapioca pearls were old and starting to lose their consistency. Very mushy and falling apart as you pulled them up through the straw and actually very flavorless. Disappointed.. I'm not sure I would come back for the bubble tea, It's hard to find places that sell the stuff in the area without driving 15-20 minutes to get some, but at the end of the day I'd probably make that drive to get some better stuff. read more

Ya know. It's a cute place. Also one the bigger froyo places that I've been too. It's housed in the old friendly's building, right on the main drag. The froyo is always good. The toppings are always full. The water is free. My one negative would be... the girls behind the counter. I just wish they had a little more enthusiasm. I know its not the most exciting job, but at least pretend that you want to please the customer and smile a little bit. Over all though, I'll be back. Kiwi Spoon has tasty frozen yogurt but it is fairly hit or miss. A lot of times machines are down, staple flavor a like chocolate or vanilla have run out, and the toppings bar can be a hot mess. They must be doing something right though because they seem to have remained in business after the two closest froyo shops have closed. Oh, and coming here is not going to be an inexpensive treat, the weight of your cup climbs quickly. read more

The good: By far my favorite of the frozen yogurt chains, and this location is quite good. Excellent parking. A great decor. The place is comfortable even when it's busy. They offer an ample selection of I think 16 yogurt flavors (it might be 18) including two sugar free options -- both of which I tasted. The flavors they offer change regularly, but there is enough variety that you're bound to find at least one, if not several, that you like. Also, the topping bar is great -- from hot fudge, to sprinkles, gummi bears, nutella, fresh fruit, and jelly balls filled with sugary liquids (so tasty) -- there are so many options. (Now I kind of wish I had remembered to take a picture). Service was excellent as well. The bad: I have nothing bad to say about this place. The only real shortcoming is also one of its strengths. You are charged by weight. So if you like heavier toppings you'll pay more than lighter ones. Depending on what you get, the yogurt can get a little expensive but I still think it's worth it (and honestly, I'm kind of cheap). The ugly: It's too close to Moe's. I'm really not fond of that place. Overall I really enjoy Kiwi spoon. This is my local place, and since my girlfriend absolutely loves it there, I try and stop by when I can. read more
