I love the pastries here. There's a great variety of baked goods neatly displayed in a self-serve area where you can pick them out yourself with tongs and a tray. At the counter, the cakes offered for sale always draw my attention because they look so good. I'm always tempted to get extra slices. I've tried the strawberry soft cream slice, which was sweet and light, and the ganache cream cake slice, which was rich and chocolaty. As for their coffee, the Lavazza brew has a nice mild taste. The sandwiches they offer tend to be on the salty side. The store is bright and clean. The cashiers are courteous. I'll admit that I'm a fan of this chain. I frequented the Paris Baguette in New Jersey whenever I traveled and I was happy one finally opened in my neighborhood. I specifically requested a "Happy Birthday" plaque, as we had a house full of family members ready to celebrate. Unfortunately, when we opened the cake box, there was no plaque or message. When I called to address the issue, the staff informed me that I would need to pay extra for the plaque. First time trying this place, the ambience was nice and inviting. I ordered a hot latte and also did a to-go box of baked goods. The coffee was good. As for the desserts, I really loved the Croissant Donut with Nutella and the Tiramisu Tart both were rich and satisfying. I was so excited for the Paris Baguette to open in West Hartford. There are so many pastries, cakes, and drinks to indulge. It's French-Korean style with a variety of sweet and savory offerings from Pastry Franks to Mochi Donuts. My first time visiting was opening weekend where we picked up a cheesecake (Brownie NY Cheesecake) for my birthday. I also got a few slices of the Blueberry Chiffon Cake that had real blueberries and it was so light and fluffy. It was a crazy busy, but since then, the hype has died down. We were able to find plenty of seating during our last visit and tried more of their offerings. I got the Korean Iced Milk Coffee and learned that it was a mix. The coffee flavor was very light and reminded me of the glass bottled Starbucks latte drinks. I prefer strong coffee, but I wanted to give this a try. It wasn't for me and plan to try one of their teas next time. We got a box of goodies, a few to eat in-store and take home. The Coffee Croissant Donut was delicious and was filled with a coffee cream. The Four Cheese Quiche was one of my favorites, super cheesy and had savory herbs. A few other things we grabbed were the Sweet Potato Pastry, Sweet Rice Red Bean Puff, and Crab Meat Croquette just to name a few. Everything looks so good and be careful when loading up your box while hungry. It's very easy to run up the bill with each item being around $5 (or more) each. Paris Baguette has an app and rewards program, highly recommend signing up before your first visit to get a free item. I like that there are descriptions of the items and allergens, but note that there is a lot of crossed allergens. You can either load up a box or tray. If you are able to find a seat, the friendly staff can heat up items for you too. Our last visit was on a Saturday and I think it's safe to say the hype has died down with the amount of tables available which makes a more enjoyable experience. Paris Baguette's items taste better fresh. Anyway, we will likely return to Paris Baguette soon. There is a lot more to try and they have season specials that will draw me back of course. Wow! It's like walking into an artisanal bakery with an abundance of snacks and pastries ready for you to grab! You start off by grabbing a tray and some tongs and choose your selections of pastries that are covered and kept behind glass for sanitary reasons. There are market fresh specials, too, such as wraps, and sandwiches and other pastries for the sweet tooth. These are some very fresh and delicious pastries! It must be a pretty huge neighborhood, because they have over 230 locations across the United States. Connecticut has just two of those locations, with West Hartford being the first and the second one under development in Cheshire at The Shops at Stonebridge. When we walked in yesterday it was our first visit, but we immediately had a sense of déjà vu because it so much reminded us of the various Doro Markets we've seen. The store's layout is gorgeous, and they get super high marks for eye appeal and décor. The store is loaded with display cases, glass shelves, and containers filled with some of the more amazing baked goods you're likely to see anywhere. I'm talking full cakes, cake slices & tarts, sweets & pastries, donuts, savories (quiches, jam and cheese, pizza), packaged breads, breakfast sandwiches, salads, sandwiches & wraps, grab and go's and pretty much anything you want for any meal. We picked up a big coffee Danish ($4.99) and a big Chocolate Feuilleté ($5.29) a fancy French word for a layered puff pastry, very similar to a croissant. The pastries were both terrific and large enough that splitting one for an evening snack still yielded two satisfying portions. So, by splitting both, we did get four servings for $11. I'm 99% sure that we will stop into Paris Baguette as an added value whenever we shop at Trader Joe's, which is pretty much next door. read more

I like the location of this store. Very convinient and easy. Definitely more baked goods if you come early. They sold out quick. I was looking for crab filled pastry but i didn't see it in the displays. I always love the cream cheese doughnut as well as the twisted doughnut. The red bean filled doughnut is a bit in the sweet side. The place is cozy and neat. A good place to chat with a friend for coffee or some pastry. Limited seats though. I had a bit of decision paralysis while circling the pastry display as it was difficult choosing from the boring pastries. Honestly, nothing really screamed exciting. There were plenty of croissants and varieties of them, some donuts, and some savory baked goods. Most of it looked pretty dry and really just reminded me of mass-produced goods you find at a whole sale. I ultimately went with a danish and my fiancé tried their sausage (it's just a hot dog) croissant. I also ordered a pretzel salted caramel matcha latte to try. This was a self serve bakery and I was kinda impressed that they were still restocking items this late into the evening. I read previous reviews and only tried one pastry to start. Sad to say, my initial impression still stands after trying the pastry. Nothing special and the filling was dry and not creamy at all. The danish wasn't flakey or exciting. My drink was okay but not really worth the $7. My fiancé expressed the same reaction as his croissant was overly salty and just bland. 2 pastries, 1 small latte, and 1 sprite came out to be around $22. 3.5/5 I have been to a few Paris Baguette locations before and was excited to hear that they opened one nearby. There is a good seating area and everything felt nice and open. Instructions on how to pick up the baked goods were provided near the trays and the trays/tongs were cleaned between uses. The display cases were clean and stocked with cookie cutter pastries as these chains typically are. There wasn't many mochi donut selections which I was on the hunt for, but I settled for the Feuillete au Chocolate which is a chocolate and cream pastry twist. It was flakey and the perfect amount of sweetness. Price-wise, steep for small pastries, but fair for some specialty items such as the milk buns. The staff were friendly, but service was subpar. We had to pack our own 4 pastries while the employees moved to a different register to help the guests behind us. Some items looked, as another reviewer pointed out, more on the well done side. I heard Paris Baguette was opening and I visited opening weekend and a random Friday morning. Opening weekend was busy as expected. Finding parking in this plaza is not for the weak. When you walk in you are greeted by beautifully stocked displayed cases of bake goods. You grab and tray and pick out what you want. BE AWARE: if you're not looking at prices and just the throwing pastries on a tray. You will be easily spending $50-$100 dollars. I got a large box and two drinks and it ran me about $50 ish dollars. The place had seating and when it is crowded it can be a bit disorganized. I feel a number system and a section to order drinks before ringing out would be more efficient. Looking at large selection it looks like many items are prepared offsite and finished at store. Which is normal of these types of large bakery chains. My honest review nothing really stand out to me. I tried going here a few days since their initial opening, the line was ridiculously intertwined, I decided I would return on another occasion. Today is Christmas, in an attempt to avoid overcrowding by some less then favorite people who gathered around for Christmas (it's fine, call me the Grinch), I went for a drive for some fresh air. My drive led me to the surprisingly open Paris Baguette. Adorned by balloons outside, the inside was pretty busy considering the major holiday. However, it was approachable, unlike on my first attempt. All of the croissants, pastries and donuts are self serve. There are additional cakes and desserts by the register. I selected the Raspberry Almond Croissant, I also got the White Holiday Chocolate Mocha, and a cappuccino for my guest. The coffee was fine, but very, very average. The croissant was the worst one I've ever had. It tasted burnt, it was very crumbly, and dry because it was burnt. And it was over $7. Nothing good to note here. When I told management it was burnt, she offered to heat it for me, since when is this a solution?! Paris Baguette looks lovely inside, unfortunately I was let down. I was very excited to try this place and they of course put it in one of the busiest plazas and parking lot (aka Trader Joes). It was very lively and busy when I went! The process is fairly simply, add wax paper to your tray, grab some tongs and pick what you'd like! They have a really nice selection, however, prices were very steep...on the other hand, I do understand majority of the items are hand baked and from scratch. My big concern was that I saw people grabbing pastries with their bare hands, taking/putting back, and not following the sanitary protocols, which is not the businesses fault, but it gave me the slight "ick". Nevertheless, the small Strawberry Custard pastry tasted very nice and i liked the custard a lot. The ham and cheese croissant could've had more ham in it - it tasted good, but i wasn't seriously wowed. So I tried this on a random Sunday just before the holidays. Getting here was a pain with the shopping traffic but once we did, it seemed just as busy inside. The setup is you get a tray and tongs and get what you want from the self serve areas and then can order cakes and drinks from the bar where they pack you up to go or you take your tray to eat there. It is a process but we'll set up for the number of people coming through. The food was excellent. Between the four of us we had 5 different baked goods and 2 coffees. The kids had a chocolate covered croissant with a chocolate center and a fruit tart. The wife and I had a cheese and egg twist and a hot dog in a croissant wrap. We also had a cookie for the table. All were excellent though I wish the hot dog were warm. The fruit tart especially hit with the balance of the sweet from the cream and tart from the fruit. The best things though was the sweet foam vanilla am cold brew. All 4 of us loved that and also the triple chocolate chip cookie. Definitely worth a grab if you're there. read more

Have been there twice. The first time there was a crowd as they had just opened. Second time was at 8AM on a Friday. First the good: they have good hours, at least so far. You can go there early or late. The seating ambience is white, stylish.It looked clean. They have a window into the front baker's room which is probably supposed to look like where they create everything. An assorment of beautiful-looking cakes. Unfortunately, the food we ordered was nothing to rave about- a heated cheese sandwich where the slices of cheese were barely melted, the bread was so-so. My friend thought it was kind of McDonald's-ish. The prices of everything like a $6 doughnut were very steep. The almond whatever-it-was had some almonds on the outside but no almond paste inside that I could findI didn't experiment with any of the $8 small slices of cake.. It isn't often that I go looking for a $50-$60 cake, but if that's your thing, this is where you can find them. If you're looking for French décor, sorry. The bakers in the little room don't have enough tools or space to make any measurable amount of anything. It looked fake. This stuff must come in frozen and then heated there. It isn't a place you'd want to sit on a frigid winter day like we've had as there is no shield from the icy blasts when the door opens. I was glad that not many were coming in or out. Been to this location before as well as other locations, came in before work and it took them AT LEAST 15 minutes to make my iced cold brew with the cold foam. I've waited for this shop to open for months since I saw the renovations on the shop space. I've been to other branches and loved their cakes and pastries. Unfortunately this particular branch in West Hartford missed a couple of targets. Their salt bread was too dry and stale (I went on 12/30/25 at 6pm to place orders for New Year's Eve as they don't accept online and phone orders), the cronuts were also a little dry but tasted great which is good. But what was annoying was they gave away my order to another customer and offered to give me another type of cake which ruined the themed party I had planned. They called me 4 hours prior to my pick up schedule. This is not meant to discredit a place that I like and overall have great pastry selections but I think some quality checks and proper organization would've done prevented problems like this. I understand that it's a busy time of year so why open right smack during the holidays without a soft launch to work out the kinks? But at the prices they charge we'd expect a plate for our pastry rather than cardboard tray and a real cup for the cappuccino rather than a paper cup with a plastic lid and a wooden stirrer. I have been to many locations and never been disappointed. I purchased the raisen bread which is always good. A chocolate croissant with barely a touch of chocolate, and a creme brulee item. For charging me $14 I am extremely displeased with the quality. Put some chocolate in a chocolate croissant , and the creme brulee at almost $7 had hardly any custard in it. I haven't tried the breads but I did try samples of cheesecake, chocolate ganache, & red velvet cake & all of them were dry & tasteless which means I will avoid the beautiful looking desserts & cakes. The soggy bread sandwiches & salad selections are few & premade with no choice of ingredients. This is definitely not a good place for lunch or dinner. The young staff were helpful but the place is mostly self serve. In terms of decor the place is pretty but somehow bland. The tables & chairs are placed too close together, I'm small but I had a hard time navigating between them. Smaller cases & more room for seating would be a better use of space. There was an amazing variety of French type pastries there. I tried two of them and they were good. It was very busy at 11 in the morning. I had to wait in line to see and help myself to the pastries and i had to wait in a very short line to pay for them. The seating was comfortable and the place had a nice vibe. Some young women were decorating cakes in a separate area by the front window. Parking in that general area is difficult because of the large amount of traffic generated by Trader Joe's.
