Strawberry ice cream with hot fudge.

If you're looking for a cute ice cream spot, this is it! When you walk in, it's a large place (much larger than it appears outside) with plenty of seating. The walls are painted in a cute ice cream sunday theme that I love. There are dozens of flavors and mixing options, and the staff is friendly and patient. The ice cream is creamy and richly flavored with large servings, so you get your money's worth. The only (minor) disappointment was it was quite cold in side. It was a cold and rainy day when I stopped in, but I still sat with my coat on the whole time because it was not warm inside.

Scoopy's is a solid new ice cream spot in Wallingford! I went for the first time today and it was a great experience. I really liked the decor of the place. They have ice cream painted on the front windows as you walk up to the door, and even an ice cream cone trash can out front. Inside it's spacious and clean. There's an old-style popcorn machine to the left as you walk in with free popcorn. They have several tables inside where you can eat, and also picnic tables with umbrellas outside. I was the only one in the place when I went, and the employee was very friendly and greeted me. They have a list of about 30 flavors to choose from, and I ordered the "Graham Slam," which was Graham Cracker-flavored ice cream with honey combs in it. Really good! And at $5 for two scoops, I thought the price was very reasonable. They also had a bunch of toppings to choose from, Italian Ice, milkshakes, floats, ice cream flights, and some specials, including a Neil's Donut Sundae and Ice Cream Nachos, which both sounded delicious. Overall I'd recommend Scoopy's as a great new ice cream spot to try this summer!

I sampled one flavor that I thought was decent, but I decided to order the Red Velvet Cake flavor which looked good and tasty. I liked the Red Velvet Cake flavor. It was a bit of a cheat code in the best possible way. I mean -- combine ice cream and one of the best cakes, and you're ahead of the game. The waffle cone was good too, but it had a big hole in the bottom. Luckily, I noticed Dixie cups on the counter. So I just placed the cup under the cone. Service was pleasant and efficient. Sundae Afternoon was a good ice cream shop and is worth visiting. I wouldn't say it's with the top tier CT places though. Four Stars

Upon arriving, the ladies serving you were the sweetest. Offering us a taste of the ice creams, announcing their specials and pointing out pre-made frozen treats in a separate freezer across from the main counter. The main counter has all the hard ice creams on display. They have hard ice creams from The Ice Cream Club, a company from Florida. This is my first time trying this ice cream and different the other ice cream shops in the area who serve Giffords Ice Cream, Praline's Ice Cream, etc. They have a few dairy-free options too. I got two scoops of the Stellar Coffee flavor. The ice cream was light, rich coffee flavor with a thick fudge swirl and a generous amount of mini dark chocolate coffee cups. My husband tried the Strawberry Shortcake Bomb, their take of the Good Humor bar. There was strawberry ice cream in the center, wrapped in vanilla, and rolled in the strawberry shortcakes pieces. They had other fun flavors and treats like a Neil's Donut Ice Cream Sandwich (would love to try this next). Sundae Afternoon is in a great area that we pass by often. It's next to a Subway and across the street from the Yalesville Veterinary Hospital. They have dog friendly ice cream treats too. For a small shop, it's very open. The dining area is spacious, walls painted in a fun, bright orange color. Can't wait to see more of Sundae Afternoon and what they have in store when the weather heats up!

According to their story, it's all naturally produced from the milk of their 300 cows housed at Arethusa Farm in Litchfield, CT. The menu is packed with delicious and interesting flavors, and taste-testing is gladly allowed. My daughter got a cup of the mint chip, while I opted for a waffle cone with sweet cream and chocolate. Both were absolutely delicious. The ambiance is that of an upscale ice cream spot. The interior features a bright, clean, and welcoming black-and-white design, with framed photos of their farm cows lining the walls. There is no traditional table seating inside--just two benches and some standing room--so it is mostly an order-to-go setup. It is also conveniently located right around the corner from the Yale University campus, making it a perfect treat to enjoy while walking. The service can be a little on the slow side, but that's likely because they graciously let everyone sample flavors. The employees are incredibly friendly, engaging, and informative about the shop's most popular scoops. An absolute must-visit in New Haven.

Late July is peach season, and the sweet aroma of peaches blends beautifully with the natural richness of milk. The first taste is the sweet and sour peach, with fruit pieces bursting like popping boba, followed by a rich and mellow fruity aroma that instantly transports you to an orchard. All of this is built on a rich and natural milk base. Butter Pecan: A spontaneous choice. Overall, it's slightly salty within the milky flavor, with pecan nuts as a topping, making it a rather full-bodied one. Fortunately, it's not too sweet, so it's not cloying, and the slight saltiness adds a nice touch. I thought it was just okay, but my parents loved it. Sweet Cream Chocolate Chip: Apparently their signature flavor. The sweet cream wasn't actually too sweet, but the cream was very rich and fragrant; the real sweetness came from the chocolate chips, which burst in your mouth with every chew, and even just a sample was slightly cloying. The staff were very friendly, proactively offering recommendations and samples. Taking a break with ice cream while strolling around campus and the art gallery is definitely a great experience.
