A great hole in the wall spot for authentic street style tacos! There are only 4 tables inside as it is mostly a take out spot. I tried the Al pastor, carne asada, carnitas and barbacoa. The tacos are doubled up on the corn tortillas to hold the big portion of meat they give you. The tacos comes with onions and cilantro but I recommend adding the extra toppings (cheese and avocado) for extra flavor. I ordered steak fajitas to go here. 1. The steak is shredded and mixed with mostly peppers, and mushrooms and some avocado. I do not like mushrooms but it was impossible to locate them to remove. Thus, I ate them and I didn't die. In fact, this was the tastiest order of fajitas I've ever eaten, hands down. Tons of flavor. 2. These came with homemade (I think) corn tortillas. I prefer flour tortillas. But because the filling was so frigging tasty I didn't care! I ate them and I didn't die. 3.these came with refried beans. I was hoping it would be black beans but I was wrong. I don't care for refried beans. These were very loose, almost soup. I ate them and they weren't bad. 4. The rice was good, not dry like you get in many places. So, all this being said I think the quality of the food was excellent. The place was clean and the employee was polite and friendly. I paid $20 for this food and a can of soda. While the meat/mushroom /peppers were delicious, by my observation there wasn't a whole lot of meat on the plate. I'd consider this a great pathway to vegetarianism. But I felt like the price tag was a little high for the amount of food in the box. read more

Authentic, homemade and seasoned perfectly!! I ordered steak tacos, Al Pastor and Pollo burritos - and had it delivered to my office for a straight drive home for dinner. The gentleman that took my order on the phone and who also delivered them does not speak much English, so he asked me to text the address for the delivery. For confirmation, I also texted my order and the total amount that I was quoted ($28 for all, inclusive of any delivery charge). Note: the minimum order for delivery is $25. The steak tacos was perfect, and came with fresh radishes and limes. The steak was cut in very small pieces and the soft taco shells were homemade. The burritos were delish - both came with Mexican rice (in the burrito ) which was just lightly seasoned. There were homemade tortilla chips with both red and green sauces. I've tried them all and this is by far the best Mexican food in Wallingford. Whoever is cooking knows how to properly spice food. This food is cooked fresh unlike some places where the ingredients are kept in chafing dishes for hours. Edible artistry, a rainbow of fruit, very friendly service and yummy Mexican food, I wandered into Cositas Ricas for the first time with my Dad this morning, and had a delicious smoothie of fresh papaya, mango and strawberries. The colors of watermelon, pineapple, mango, honeydew, cantaloupe, jicama, berries and more drew me in and my Dad and I enjoyed building our own creations - a fruit bowl for him and smoothie for me. I returned not even an hour later with my husband as we are crazy for good Mexican food and I was so excited to discover they served enchiladas, tamales, fajitas, chilaquiles, and tostadas, along with many other items I can neither spell or pronounce. The menu included a decent variety of seafood options also. The staff were very helpful and patient as we asked about every unfamiliar menu listing. The young man behind the counter seemed happy to answer and offered us samples of their special Chile sauces that were the defining flavors of many of the fruity and frozen desserts. Our choice became a work of art, as prepared by the young woman who quickly diced the fresh fruit, topped by a miniature sno cone, surrounded by spears of mango and a gorgeous crown she carved from a strawberry. This was the Cholado Columbiano, sweetened with condensed milk rather than a Chile sauce. We did also have a really good meal, sharing chicken enchiladas with both red and green sauce and tostadas de Tinga.(chipotle marinated chicken topped with lettuce, beans, cheese and a generous portion of sliced avocados.)
