I went with the Italian Combo and it was huge and filled with meat and toppings. The bread was fresh and warm. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Inspired by a fellow Yelpers review earlier today on his stop at a Naugatuck Nardelli's, I stopped by today for a sandwich. This Meriden location happens to be a 5-minute drive from my house and I needed something quick before running a meeting at 5:45pm. As soon as I entered, I was greeted. There is a large selection of hot and cold sandwiches, and other prepared foods, but I was in the mood for a cold sandwich with cold cuts, which I rarely eat. I ordered a club with turkey, ham and American cheese. I added mayo, lettuce and tomato. Pretty straightforward, and like I mentioned, I rarely order cold sandwiches from anywhere. The sandwich was good, and while today I wasn't really in the mood for anything else, they had a large selection of salads, sides and desserts. I'll definitely be back for those! I actually had to eat this in the car in my way to the meeting, and it was pretty neat - nothing fell out! read more

After a long day of car-based socially-distant sightseeing, I wanted something quick that I could easily eat in my hotel room. I ordered a whole roast beef grinder online for in-store pickup from my hotel room. By the time I got to the restaurant, dinner was waiting and back to the hotel I went. The whole sandwich I ordered was...large, to say the least. Large enough that 2/3 of it had me full and the remainder could be breakfast the next morning. A lot of sandwich places skimp on the meat (cough...Subway) and Nardelli's does not. Hot sauce isn't something I normally put on a cold cut sandwich, but it worked. $12 for a sandwich is a tad pricey, but for 2 meals, it worked out. They NEVER get it right.......first of all you should know that a lot of the newer Nardelli's are franchises, this is not owner operated by the family chain we all love. This is the WORST Nardelli's in CT. We have tried them all!!! We have tried this location multiple times order is always wrong. Such a shame because they have a drive through and it's convenient , location is right off the highway. We really wanted it to be good....it just never is.... Our last order was three Grinders after repeating the toppings three times and giving a paper in writing, (we knew to do this from past bad experiences) 2 out of three were incorrectly made. Very sloppy and soggy upon receipt. Management is poor their pride and staple with the chain is to get the order correct by a verbal order. Not here the orders are ALWAYS wrong. Drive the extra 10 minutes and go to Wallingford location, the service is always great and the food orders are on point. Shame on this location for discrediting the family name. read more

Stopped here for dinner on our way to NYC. I had the plant based Italian sandwich which was delicious! Since cutting meat from my diet I miss deli sandwiches sometimes, and this really hit the spot. Went to the Nardelli's shop in Meriden on East Main Street. The staff was friendly and helpful. The sandwiches were well made and the salad was dress. I usually love Nardelli's but after todays experience I may never go back. Simple ordered a steak and cheese grinder and a Buffalo chicken grinder and asked if it could be ready at a specific time which was about an hour away and they said this was no problem. When I arrived an hour later they hadn't even started making the sandwich yet. I was in no rush so I didn't mind waiting but there was not a single soul in the store or drive through and everyone working seemed to be bored while I stood there and waited for my subs. My other complaint is I specifically asked for "Everything" on my two grinders and they even confirmed with me that I wanted everything on it. To my surprise when I got home I opened up one of the sandwiches and it was 2 pieces of Buffalo chicken on bread. No sauce, no lettuce, tomato none of the stuff that they advertise / usually put on the sub when you ask for everything. This place used to be my favorite spot for grub close by. Lately it's just been bad. There seems to be a revolving door of new employees, and apparently they aren't being trained right. Wait time has increased, I walked in one time and 2 employees were arguing right in front of me. The last 3 times I have been there I've had every sandwich made wrong. I stopped by recently and they have grinders now that have plant-based meats like the plant-based Italian combo but personally, I would skip the hot sauce. The nardelli's franchise has me torn- they do one sandwich really freaking good and its the italian combo on panini bread. It has the perfect combo of italian meats and the panini bread is like real italian bread. I dont even know why they have the other bread. Other than the fact that they charge you extra for the panini bread. I just paid 11 bucks for a full of this sandwich (the other half is my dinner!) Everything else I have got from there has been disappointing. Sorry microwaved chicken is just not good...Also I'm not a fan of their "everything" mix. Made that mistake once. Overall that one sandwich is like a 5 but everything else a 2 so i settled on a 3 since i do go regularly for the italian combo. People are also always very friendly. read more

Love Nardelli's!! When I moved to the area, everyone talked about this place and I didn't get it. Well, I'm officially a Nardelli's fan. I feel like I can never go back to Subway. This place has the biggest, best grinders, fresh pasta salads, cannolis and desserts and buckeyes which are such a treat. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have glutton free options, veggie options and MEAT options (can you tell I'm a carnivore?). This place is also my go to on weeknights we don't feel like cooking. First I'll state, I am not a big cold cut fan. But the location was great since I'd just drove 5 hours from Baltimore and just wanted to get into my hotel room. So I had the American Cold Cut and it was awesome. There was loads of meat and fixings on my sandwich. I opted for the full cold cut because I am a big guy and it was almost too much for me. AWFUL PLACE!!! They made 2 out of 3 of my sandwiches incorrectly. I noticed this after I arrived home 40 minutes away. Called to tell them. The manager Dante was extremely rude and WOULD NOT GIVE ME A REFUND!! HE wanted me to drive back to Meriden from Westport to get the correct ones! Really??? Today I ordered lite and just had the Chicken Tortilla Soup. A little spicy and delicious. It's not easy just ordering soup when you want everything in the case.
