This was not what I was expecting, in that I thought it would be tinier. Instead, it's this giant building with adorable herbs growing on the tables outside in front and you walk in and are overwhelmed with food options. You can choose hot food from one of 8 restaurants inside or you can stock up on delicious breads and pastas like I did, and let me tell you, I got home and have been living off of this bread for days now. I wasn't expecting to be as blown away by Hubspoke Kitchen as I was, but wow, this is how you do takeout right! This space is massive and they have almost every kind of cuisine you could want. We picked up a few items from frozen to have later, but also got a some meals to eat for dinner that night, and it was all delicious! They even had samples being handed out by the door of some of their soup and cornbread, which was a really nice touch (and also a good appetizer since you can't dine in). I wish I lived and worked closer because this is a super convenient option to have nearby with quality food! Totally a hidden gem that I'm glad I stumbled upon. read more

I ordered from Citta Pasta . This was a delivery order. Cons, I do not like the way they split the pasta and sauce. The sauce was on the bottom of the bowl and the pasta was on the top in a different container. When the food arrived, the pasta was all stuck together. I would rather have the sauce mixed together. The garlic bread with cheese was burnt. It wasn't able to eat it. i'm not sure about the bread pudding is in between a pro and icon. The con is that it arrives cold. The menu says it's hot, but it arrives cold and refrigerated. It comes in a metal container where you heat it up in the oven. did not have a sauce or anything to put on top. Did not have much flavor. Pro I really like the Pomodoro sauce. I thought it was very flavorful and tasty. I really enjoy rigatoni and you can't find that at restaurants. The bread pudding was moist and not dry. But it did not have much flavor. I honestly am not sure if I would order from here or not. I might give it another chance. read more

I was a fan! It's take out only which I wish they had posted on their website but luckily I had ordered online anyways and wasn't going to go dine in. Also the ordering online gives no options to leave notes such as "toast the sandwich" (booo). We ordered from the first menu- got a salad and a focaccia. The focaccia sandwich is massive! It fed my husband for lunch and we both split the other half for dinner. It's insanely huge and totally with the $14. My harvest salad ($10)was also very good, I added the chicken ($5) which was flavorful and freshly cooked. It also was a very good size. Please read the descriptions do not go by pictures. The picture of the salad I ordered had apples or pears on it. It did not come with these- it wasn't in the description either but I was fooled by the picture. I will definitely try more. read more

I am a tiny bit reluctant to write a review as this establishment still seems to be under construction and development. I guess I will call this a pre-review! This spot only is for to-go prepared foods...and the choices are extensive. I stopped in to pick up a couple of salads on a weeknight because I was just too tired to make dinner. I chose one which had spinach, apples, bacon, crumbled feta, and an absolutely incredible honey maple dressing. Honestly, the dressing was outstanding! The second salad had spinach, candied, nuts, strawberries, fresh mozzarella, and a white balsamic dressing, which was also very good. The salads were enormous and cost about $11. My only recommendation is that they increase the amount of toppings as the bowl was mostly spinach. The establishment is immaculately clean, though almost sterile in terms of vibe or feel. I'm hoping it will become more welcoming over time. I will definitely come back as I'm eager to try their pulled brisket and their prepared rice bowls. read more

i have lived in wallingford a majority of my life, & I just ate here last night for the first time. The food was honestly terrible, I threw it out after a few bites. the gnocchi had a weird density & texture, the sauce had no flavor & the way they packaged it, my chicken cutlet that I paid $3 for was sitting in a bath of flavorless sauce, making it soggy & the breading turning to mush. the mac & cheese gave me stouffers vibes & the cornbread was totally not like how it was pictured, and honestly not good at all. WE MISS LITTLE ITALY. If you're thinking about coming here, spend the few extra dollars on food you know is worth it. I called to place an order the person on the phone said she couldn't take an order on the phone and that I needed to order online. I asked if I could place an order with her she said no. Very poor customer service! So I ordered a tavern pizza on line. Easy pick the pizza clock on it and check out, which took a while because I needed to enter my address, cc, phone number etc. I arrive to pick up and was told they made the wrong pizza. I said I called you wouldn't take my order and told me to order on line which I did. I pressed on the pizza I wanted and you made the wrong one? How's that? Sorry you need to wait another 20 min for the right pizza to be made. Did nothing to make this right. I waited took the pizza home and after trying it thought a frozen pizza would've been better. They have a wide variety of food to choose from, which makes for a perfect evening if everyone can't decide on one cuisine. I went with the cheesy burger off the way back menu with an order of fries. We also split the Mac and cheese bites which were awesome! My friends got tacos off the Taculto menu, and they were large and full of meat and toppings! I have tried a few different styles, and all were great but, I'm thinking that Detroit is my new favorite. Pasta is great. Salads are fresh and delicious. Recently they started to add test recipes so, the other day I figured I would try one. I ordered the Spinach Pappardelle with Sausage and Alfedo sauce. The Pasta was cooked to perfection. The sausage was tasty. The Alfredo? No Bueno. The sauce was bland. Could taste no cheese, no garlic, no seasoning at all. Just butter and cream. Portions are large. Price point is perfect. So this 4 star is for Molte pizze. I've gotten a few pizzas from here and I gotta say their NY style is the best around. Wasn't a huge fan of the Detroit, bit too thick and I had an issue with the cheese crust completely detaching from the pie, flavor wise it was great though. Their wings are very good too! Nice crisp on them, and they come right off the bone. Highly suggest this place if you like a good NY style pizza and perfect wood fired wings. read more

INCREDIBLE! The Detroit style pizza is so different from traditional "New Haven" pizza that it's a welcome change every now and then. Some specialty pies are available, but nothing hits better than a pepperoni with hot honey drizzle. Hubspoke houses other food type restaurants as well- They have burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and BBQ available. It's a great concept that can please every family with picky eaters. Ordered for the first time tonight and was very impressed. We had Margherita Neapolitan pizza and the Sunday Classic pasta. The pizza was nice and thin, with moderate char, and the toppings were good. The pasta was cooked very al dente, with a unique bowl to keep the pasta out of the sauce until you are ready to eat it. A large meatball and a long link of sausage were included. The surprise was the braciole in the sauce. For my liking, the sauce was just a bit oily, but had a very good taste. First time trying it, Had a hankering for BBQ Brisket. And since it's not to far away I gave it whirl. The meal plus 3 dish for $25. Sides I had Baked Beans, Mac and Cheese and a baked sweet potato and it came with the Cornbread. Really good Brisket is very hard to find in CT. I've had Bear's, Pig Rig, Tainos and finally HupSpoke. Well I still haven't found really good Brisket since "The Fresh Market" in Newington closed. They had Brisket, Pastrami and Smoked Corn Beef in the Deli. They would cut your serving off the big Brisket right in front of you and all 3 of them were phenomenal. Pig Rig pulls their brisket apart and puts it in a foil tray and spoons it out on your plate/takeout box, then douses it with BBQ sauce. Without the sauce it would dry and relatively bland. The only difference for Bears and Taino is they slice it. But it's just a boring as Pig Rig. At least HubSpoke it was plenty moist but without sauce it was rather boring as well. The sauce they gave me was tasty but watery. For Mac and Cheese, Pig Rig is the best. Taino and Bears nothing special. And Hubspoke they used far too much cheese. It was more cheese than Mac. The Beans at HupSpoke were delicious, and their corn bread was by far the best of the other 3. Very moist, warm, doesn't fall apart and yummy. Baked Sweet Potato is just that. Cooked correctly. Not dried out. I'll be back to try one of the other brands soon. Because the Brisket doesn't rate a 4 I had to choose 3. But's its really a 3.5 for Brisket. Next BBQ hankering will get pulled pork instead. read more
