The first time I went to a human bean was actually in Phoenix, so I was excited to see them pop up here in Albuquerque. The current location is a bit out of my way, but conveniently right by my sister's house. I had a favor to ask of her so of course I came bearing coffee. I went through the drive-through quickly to pick up some treats. I got the chai latte with bourbon cream foam on top and it was fantastic. My sister requested the vanilla shake, which is basically a dupe for the Starbucks vanilla bean Frappuccino. She also said it was fantastic and exactly what she wanted. The only error was that the barista missheard me and gave me two of the vanilla shakes but when I realized it, she was very polite and just gave me a refund for that second one. The chocolate covered espresso bean on top is always such a fun little touch.

3/2022: Will I visit The Human Bean again? Probably, if only to give it a second chance. The Human Bean is a drive thru only place, yet I noticed 2 wooden tables outside. Great customer service from the baristas who were very friendly and helpful, assisting me with my drink selection. I am not a coffee drinker but was craving hot chocolate or cocoa. I stated that I wanted the hot chocolate stirred and it was not. Also, it tasted more milky than chocolate so I wasn't impressed. In addition I believe the drink was made with 2% milk, not whole milk (of course it cut some of the additional calories). Giving 3.5 stars because of the smiling faces.

Java chip but today mostly Hersheys syrup and whipped cream.

Usually I give this location 5 stars, I've mostly quit going to Starbucks because the Human Bean is closer and serves every drink with a chocolate covered coffee bean on top. But today my Java chip granita tastes like Hersheys syrup instead of a coffee drink, & they put whipped cream on it even though I told 3 people No whipped cream (the power went out after they'd taken the order so they took it again at the window & then again a 3rd person came to the window to ask). Not a good experience today.

Ok, who doesn't like a good cup of coffee? How about a muffin top? I mean who really eats the rest of the muffin anyway? Our breakfast today - after a long gym workout came courtesy of the Human Bean. We got here and walked up to the window. Menu was straight forward & the baristas were friendly & helpful. It was an Irish cream breve, frozen hot chocolate with the orange cranberry & lemon poppyseed muffin tops. My breve was excellent. The beans used to make the brew weren't bitter or burnt which definitely contributed to flavor. Bonus ~ both drinks were topped with a chocolate covered coffee bean. Nice addition! This might time to rethink your Starbucks addiction A great first experience!

We have many coffee house choices in Albuquerque and my goal is to try all of them. What can I say I love coffee. If you are a coffee lover give it a try I think you will love it. I enjoyed a Breve and it was well crafted. Well done barista! I'll be back.

I stopped by here for a Yelp event and wow I am not disappointed at all. I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful staff member who told me that they had peppermint flavoring, my favorite. I changed my drink and got a large iced peppermint mocha! It was so good! I didn't think the large would be that huge but I couldn't finish the whole thing, definitely worth the price for that huge of a cup! I also got a chocolate chip muffin too which was delicious and a nice pairing. If I'm ever on this side of town, I'll definitely stop by.

First of all, Cup of Cozy? That's either the name of a coffee shop or the title of a Hallmark movie…read morewhere a stressed-out city executive learns the true meaning of Christmas. Either way, I'm in. The name sets some pretty high expectations. "Cozy" isn't just a word--it's a promise. It's soft blankets, rainy afternoons, books you swear you'll finish someday, and coffee cups that require two hands. Fortunately, Cup of Cozy understood the assignment. Walking inside felt like stepping into a space that was intentionally cared for. Everything was remarkably clean, tastefully decorated, and arranged in a way that made me want to stay longer than I planned. There were plenty of tables and seating, and a small music stage tucked into the back that gave the whole place the feeling of a community gathering spot rather than just another coffee counter. You can easily imagine live music, conversations, and regulars settling into their favorite corners. The shop is owned by a friendly couple, and their warmth seems to be baked right into the atmosphere. Some places work hard to feel welcoming; this one simply is. Drink-wise, the lavender latte arrived with a little bit of an attitude. It wasn't one of those timid lattes that politely whispers "coffee" from across the room. This one showed up, introduced itself firmly, and then followed through with a surprisingly smooth lavender finish. Strong? Absolutely. Tasty? Also absolutely. The Starry Island Italian soda was the perfect counterbalance. One sip and suddenly my brain was nowhere near New Mexico. It was somewhere with palm trees, warm ocean breezes, and a beach chair that costs more than it should. Fruity, tropical, and incredibly refreshing, it tasted like the beverage equivalent of a mini vacation. If the lavender latte was the serious adult in the room, the Starry Island was already barefoot in the sand, ordering another round of sunshine. And because life is unpredictable, I also left with a 5-pound bag of ice. Not every coffee shop can satisfy your caffeine needs and prepare you for a backyard barbecue in the same transaction. Cup of Cozy delivered exactly what its name promises: good drinks, genuine hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger. In a world full of coffee shops trying to become destinations, this one succeeds by simply being comfortable, welcoming, and authentic. Sometimes that's all it takes to make an ordinary stop feel like the best part of your day.

This place definitely falls into the first category. This morning I went with the single origin Guatemala drip, and it was exactly what a solid cup of coffee should be. Smooth, rich, and balanced with a nice chocolate note that hangs around just long enough to make you take another sip. No bitterness. No burnt taste. Just a clean, well-roasted cup that says someone here actually cares about the beans. The shop itself has a personality, which I always appreciate. It's decorated with fishing lures, fish artwork, and sculptures scattered around the place. Naturally this leads to the obvious conclusion: the owner is either an avid fisherman... or coffee roasting is just the side hustle between trout expeditions. Either way, the theme works. The space feels relaxed, creative, and comfortable. The kind of place where you can sit with a cup and not feel rushed out the door. And speaking of doors, while I was there there was a steady flow of customers coming in and out. That's usually the universal coffee signal for yep, this place is doing something right. Bottom line: Great coffee, cool atmosphere, and a shop with enough character to keep things interesting. I'll definitely be back for another cup of that Guatemala.

Always love supporting small, local spots that have that kind of story behind them. I tried their Aztec Latte, one of their signature drinks made with espresso, sweetened condensed milk, and cinnamon. I was a little unsure at first since I'm not a big fan of cinnamon, but it ended up being super mild and creamy. We also got the Red Chili Mocha, which has espresso, milk, red chili, and chocolate. I expected more of a kick from the chili, but it was actually on the milder side as well. Since it was a little chilly in Albuquerque, we went for hot lattes, which definitely hit the spot. We split a couple of toasts too. The avocado toast came with hummus, avocado, and a drizzle of sriracha. I liked that the hummus was the base instead of just plain avocado. I think it added a nice creamy layer that worked perfectly with the sourdough and spice. The Caprese toast was classic: pesto, mozzarella, balsamic, and tomatoes. Also a solid choice. The vibe inside was really chill. People were working on laptops, chatting quietly, low music in the background. The walls had artwork from a local artist, which was a nice touch. The baristas were very friendly. Service was on point.
